It's the Friday night update, and with it comes a new poll. Last week we asked how many Luclin character models you used. A large majority 65% of poll respondents stated they play with all Luclin models on. That's a fair bit of RAM to go around.

Speaking of RAM, you will want a healthy chunk of it to get around the newer content with your sanity intact. We have a tip for those of you who are seeing human character models in place of regular NPC models. While this fix may not work for everyone (depending on the cause of your problem), it usually does the trick:

Go into your EverQuest folder (typically C:\Program Files\EverQuest)
Delete the zone files associated with the zone in which you are experiencing the problem ("akanon_chr.s3d," "akanon_obj.s3d," for example -- there are 5-10 files per zone depending on which one it is).
Run the patcher.
When it's done, click on "Advanced" and then "Complete File Check."

The patcher will pick up the missing zone files and download the appropriate fixes.

This message was inspired by the number of Media Box submissions featuring these naked human models in place of regular NPCs. I hope this helps.

We're feeling a little green on this Irish edition of the Friday night update. It's time for a new poll. Last week as Velious entered the spotlight we asked which of the major Velious factions you would choose to align yourself with.

It was split nearly down the middle with the dragons edging out the Coldain by a slim margin. And then there were the giants of Kael Drakkel -- apparently most of us would just as soon slaughter the whole continent before aligning ourselves with them.

A year ago yesterday, we began the 'Trivia of the Day' feature. This brings us to this week's poll, and may shed some light on how knowledgeable your fellow players are of EverQuest. It's the Friday night update, and that means it's poll time. Last week we asked how you would rate the new Freeport. About 71% of those who have seen the new Freeport believe it is decent or better while about 29% feel much the opposite.

From the revamped Freeport, we go to raid encounters old and new, and their loot. Whether DKP, officer vote, /random, or free for all, guilds vary in their methods of distributing raid loot among its members. This week's poll is up and asks: What is your preferred method of guild loot distribution? What does your guild do, what has worked, and what hasn't worked?
