War Item for sure
# Jun 03 2005 at 1:51 AM Rating: Default
I'd carry this around because its a clicky junk buff to take up the first few slots so I dont lose the good ones on dispel. The See Invis part of the buff is handy if you dont have a see invis item/wars don't get spells just clicky things like this.

Ok, I guess I'm just a fashion queen, but I'm dying to know what this looks like. I like the single bra look that monk females have, and I was wondering if this offers that style. The icon looks like cloth, and a part of my brain says "eek!! Cloth has no graphic... eeeeewwww" Of course, it could look like leather, which isn't a style I'd take if I could choose, but having deadeye, and 25 ac?? Woot!! If anyone knows, please help me!

Sylverain

PS Also, the DeadEye is now (Worn) so whheeeeee!!

Deadeye can be pretty handy for a tank, id carry this round just for the clicky
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 06 2002 at 4:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) First of all if you are a human monk do what you will, shoulda been Lizzy to start with. Having said that, Lizzy monks Skyshrine quest tunic is 18ac 14str 13dex 13agil 5sta 60hps and 4vs all and right click 100hp heal, you dont need the deadeye effect for seeing anything cause you already can see in the dark, Being a monk and in a group you should not being hit as much with a tank taunting so the AC does not mean much, also with the 13agil on the SS tunic its AC is boosted well enough to make up for the 18 on it anyhow. Hitpoints are equal with the SS tunic at level 60 because you get 4hps per stamina and this has 5sta giving the extra 20, this is before any AA points are even put into natural durability, SS tunic grants more ATK and more resists plus has a heal that believe it or not does heal faster than the Fungal except when FD and regening w-Fungal. Get both and Try them out, I personally have an Iceburrower skin and never even use it unless I need extreme cold resists. Dont waste your time on this thing if you are Iksar just go along to help a human monk get this and loot the flawless diamonds for your SS quest BP =)

Ill make it short and sweet if you solo sure get a fungi but not necessary you can get by without 1.If you dont dont waste your money this tunic would be fine til something better came along.Ill prolly never get a fungi no tthat i couldnt afford 1 its just for regen is all you get it for, any shammy or druid can cast regen for free find 1 to group with ;).

RE: Monks Think
# Sep 18 2002 at 3:53 PM Rating: Decent
You can no longer bind wound while casting the spell on velious tunic, therefore the effect is 100% worthless. Fungi all the way. I can get off 2 bandages (80 hp per bandage) and almost 3 ticks of regen (15/tick from fungi tunic) for every cast of invigorate. You do the math.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 28 2003 at 10:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) When someone identifies one of the properties of an object/item/effect and neglects to mention another, there is what I consider to be a natural assumption that they have done so because they are not aware of the additional information. Additionally when the someone delivering said identification insults people who are unaware of such things then I become even more certain that they are not privy to the full information. Therefore in my eyes they are just as much a dumbass as those they are insulting. In short I was attempting to redress what I saw as a insult to the innocent, your condemnation of me is nothing short of a personal attack and in my opinion shows you to be at least as much a dumbass as you claim me to be. Peace to you...goof.

Well, to answer the question...

Dear, smooth and skullhead are all the "idiot" in this situation. S's post was directed towards the original poster's comment about how this tunic is nothing compared to the SS tunic with its invigorate effect. As S pointed out, Invigorate can't be cast while BW is in use, so invigorate is useless to a monk with maxed BW skill and a fungi. Deadeye was only mentioned because humans cannot see in the dark.

Now, before bashing anyone, guys and gals, take a moment to scroll up and read all the posts, including the filtered ones. That way, you don't come off as an "idiot".

Now, This isn't a flame towards anyone, it's just a general rant about all the unnecessary flaming that goes on. So, instead of instantly calling someone an idiot, wouldn't it be easier to make an informed opinion instead of a random comment? Do we really need all the arguing?

No offense was meant in this post, the above named individuals were only used as an example.

Next time, just take a second to read everything.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 28 2003 at 11:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No offense was meant eh? So sorry but I'm offended by being publicly called an idiot. Please read my rebuttal above.
Better then ToV
# Jan 29 2002 at 12:30 AM Rating: Decent
For Monks it has higher ac then ToV armor. And the weight is right. This is a waste for a warrior. Not enough ac to make killing the mob worthwhile, plus its a rare drop.

Hah noone here plays on pvp servers I guess

I play 2 comps a cleric and a warrior, in pvp my warrior is crippled manytimes by the fact that he doesnt have a see invis item coupled with the fact that he is night blind.

The effect on this BP in addition to the decent stats would make this a invaluable item to any pvp warrior's wardrobe.

Regarding Who Should Get This Item

This item would PROBABLY go to a monk. It is not impossible that it would go to a warrior, but it is unlikely. The odds are very good that if there is a warrior present that this would be an upgrade for, that he will not have nearly as much merit in the eyes of his guild as the highest level monk present that wants it. Why? A warrior that would consider this an upgrade is probably 55 or less and is rarely a main tank on guild raids. A monk that would consider this an upgrade might very well be level 60 and one of the main pullers for his guild. In the eyes of the guild, the monk and the guild will clearly get the most benefit from the monk having this item. If the warrior (who has yet to be a main tank for the guild) gets it, it doesn't benefit the guild on raids very much. If the monk (who pulls for the guild on raids) gets it, it means he lives more and pulls faster. The odds are good that if you kill this guy that you have been to the planes many, many, many times. My guild has been to Hate (not counting other planes) maybe 50 or 60 times and I don't think we have ever killed Mr. Dojo-mojo-jojo.

Of course, every situation is unique. For example, in an uber guild, everybody present for the kill that can use this might have better gear with the exception of that lower level warrior that tagged along. Another possibility is that the guild uses a point system for "buying" gear and that a warrior (by some miracle) has accumulated more points than any of the monks. This is unlikely because monks tend to accrue more points than anyone else under such systems because upgrades are so rare for us, but it COULD happen.
RE: Regarding Who Should Get This Item

your post is somewhat informative but still devoid of substantial comments. first of all, PoH is not where Lord Bob spawns. He spawns in Velks. second, your right about the monk vs warrrior comments - monks would benefit far more using this item over a warrior. if your guild can take this guy down chances are that you have done some HoT or equivalent zones, so there shouldnt be any reason a non-monk would get this item.
the worn effect is see invis and infravision.

Guy didn't say this mob spawns in Hate, he haid his guild had raided hate. I think that was to give us an idea of the level of guild development at the time. Back in 2001, hate was still considered a pretty decent raid accomplishment.

The people that posted are correct that warriors will not roll on this .. well unless it is an open raid and no monks are in attendance .. and with Lord Djolongarsename involved .. that is highly unlikely. Basically considered the 2nd best tunic in game .. behind the Ancient Wyvern Hide tunic.

Warriors wanting this item
# Aug 11 2001 at 6:52 AM Rating: Default
I know some of these warrior here have been joking about they would want this. And I know some other here were not. :o)
So here is the cutdown:
No Warrior will ever roll on this one.
If you are a Warrior with friends capable of doing Lord D. and do NOT have anything better than this, well get you and your friends over to DN and hunt Phase spiders. The PSC at least will not rot once you get your next upgrade. For Monks however, this is at the High-End of the things they could possibly get.
So stop whining please. That board is closed ;o)

Ice Burrower Skin
LORE ITEM MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
AC: +24 Str: +6 Sta: +12 Agi: +3 Dex: +8 Cold Resist: +15 Poison Resist: +7 HP: +23
Weight: 1.5

I like the STA on it but over all they are comparable. If you are a Human Monk and factor in the effect, the Icicle is much better. Plus lower WT is always nice.

Another topic (not a reply to this):

I really hate the “who gets this” argument. Lets put it this way. When this dropped for us, I was the only monk there and there were a couple warriors. There was no who gets it crap. Everyone said congrats! I don’t think we would let a warrior on raids who could use this as an upgrade, lol. There are 2 or 3 people who get hit by melee allot on raids, the puller (monk most of the time), the peeler if needed (Monk, SK, or War), and the Main tank. This is what our main tanks have (yes all of them):

Warlord's Breastplate
MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
AC: +59 Str: +16 Sta: +10 Agi: +7 Dex: +7 Magic Resist: +6 Cold Resist: +10 HP: +90

I don’t think anyone but a Monk could use this to benefit the guild. Even for smaller less powerful guilds there are other better BPs. I have been to PoH many, many, many times. The 2 most common planes armor in the last 2 years has been Indi (war) and EM (cleric). I have seen warriors get a full set in 2 or 3 raids.
Monk will get this
# Jul 11 2001 at 1:59 AM Rating: Decent
Monk, don't worry, You will do this in guild raid only. And your guild warriors won't roll on this becuase they knows this tunic will not serve on them too well. If your guild warriors wants to roll on this and the raid leader said ok... well, you know, you can try to let them know about this tunic is one of the best tunic for a monk. IMO, only the Sleeper's Longitivity tunic is better than this tunic. I have never see a warrior wants to roll on this. Last night, Lord Doljlongname drop this tunic and icible bracer, I was the chain puller. When I was given signal by the main puller to tag him, I turned up my stonestance and throw a shuriken... DUH! My last discipline didn't refresh yet.... I died when I almost run to group. (His best hit on me was 450... but boy, he hit like a monk who quad a lot) Our grp killed him easily since we are Dozekar The Cursed capable guild, he drop the tunic and the bracer. When I was ressed, they were waiting for me to roll on the tunic, but I said I am out of the tunic becuase I think it serve better to our main raid level 60 pullers. I won the icible bracer without any lotto.

This story tell us if we are not greedy, your guild will likes you and let you get the thing automatically. Tell you a truth, your thrustworthy guildmate won't likes greedy guy, I guarantee it. :)

/agree. I have been to Hate many times, and still have not seen an indi BP drop. Icewell is the same with Royal armor, and try to get into a Trak raid if you are 54 or below...Not likely. Once you do get in one, how often does the cobbie BP drop? Very rarely. I am so tired of hearing the argument that since something is low weight, it is automatically defaulted to monks. The effect is deadeye, do you think that warriors don't want see invis, and barbarian or humans wouldn't want a little better night vision? Every stat on this BP would benefit both warriors and monks.

ok let me start by saying I have a 50 plus monk and warrior. I am from a decent guild but not uber. Please lets get real. If your a warrior and honestly can't do better then ebbp here are my personal suggestions:
barbed ringmail - better ac then this.
psc - easy to do with one group. If you have the resources to get one of these a psc should be a joke and monk are always looking for psc even though they have 4.5 weight more.
One of these dropped I was playing my warrior. I would never lotto against my monk brothers on this. Seriously everybody is sick to death of the "monk item! monk item!" thing but come on. I do believe that it is possible for a char to not have the better then this at 55 plus but:
- how on gods earth did you get in a raid to fight a mob of this caliber?
- Why not barbed ringmail or psc, takes way way less resources then this and in some ways better.

Stop the Greedy
# Jun 18 2001 at 3:59 AM Rating: Decent
I am a GM of the guild and is a cleric. When we went to raid and this tunic drop, I won't allow a warrior roll on this tunic. Besides that, all of our warrior will give this tunic to the monk. We don't like greedy guy here. No warrior will be allowed to join my raid. If he said he still want to roll this and give some explanation whatever he has, he will simply refused to have the rolling right, expell him in raid and he probably not going to be invited again forever.

A lot of warrior chest piece is better than this tunic and this tunic is one of the best for the monk. Why not letting monk has it? How do you feel if you are a warrior and you need a lammy so much and the SK in the guardian grp wants the lammy while the sk is using a Moss and he claimed that the lammy is better for him in damage. This is BS and I will let the warrior has it. Whoever show his greedy, he mostly will be remember (this is true and i believe that you still can remember who is the greedy *** in your grp last year)

damn... do alot of foriegners or children play this game? Typing skills are not the best on everquest. SPELLING is mostly what im talking about, i myself suck at punctuation but plz try to make sense (guild leader who talks like scooby doo is not a guild leader at all) and yes this should go to the monk... If none i guess a warrior tho why a warrior wouldnt have better by then is a bit confusing. (I myself have fungi tunic... and its losing its edge, would anyone have a suggestion? i was thinking berserker or indi armor when i was high enough, and ive been on a kael raid already tho no plate dropped, was open random for all usable tho i was still to low i coulda won)-end post-

# May 02 2001 at 2:51 AM Rating: Default
On our server this **** can be up for days and dojo is not exactly the first mob people go for, after a patch.

It's doable without a monk, but most times a monk is fd-pulling the spiders to get dojo solo. For non-uber guilds this probably takes a couple of groups to do it. IMO he's a bit harder than VS, his melee owns. Some of his loot is pure crap... the tunic and turban are the real goodies (basically monk loot).

Most guilds doesnt have that many monks so I can see a twink wearing this tunic, however don't count on it :)
