With my instruction you will craft a set of [armor] that if crafted well, should serve you well for some time to come.' You say, 'What armor?' Rollian Galothar says 'I will give you instructions to make your first set of armor. Just keep in mind that I don't tolerate those that are lazy! Once you start something, you should always finish it! With that said, take this Northern Wolf Plate Assembly Kit. You will use it to create the various parts of your armor such as [helm], [bracers], [armplates], [boots], [legplates], [gauntlets], and [breastplate]. When you combine components in your kit, make sure they are un-stacked. Let me know what piece you wish to craft and I will give you instructions.' You say, 'I wish to craft a breastplate.' Rollian Galothar says 'Probably the most important part of your armor is the Breastplate of the Northern Wolf. It shows your true dedication to our cause. This is perhaps the most difficult part of your armor that you will create. To construct your breastplate, you will need to find three Small Pieces of Ore, two Ruined Wolf Pelts, and one Spider Venom Sac. Once you have combined these items in your Assembly Kit, take the Breastplate of the Northern Wolf Material to a forge along with this mold to create your new breastplate. I found it easier to get Spider Venom Sacs from Nek. Kill these just north of the PoK zone in. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=7984 Watch out for the wandering undead!

This is a very frustrating one for me as new to the game.
His task was to go to Blackburrow and collect 2 perfect gnoll skins and 2 giant snake rattles. With both I returned to him and gave them to him as stated. No comment!
Where did I go wrong? was there a special way to 'give' him the items? should I have hailed him 1st or not?
I have seen the reward for this to be an increase in faction standing with 4 groups, experience, and at another place, mention that a sword is included. Does anyone have the answers?

The 2 perfect gnoll skins and 2 giant snake rattles are for the sword quest. You must do the breastplate quest first, then you will be given the sword quest. Then you turn in the 2 skins and 2 rattles. For breastplate info...see below.

Here is the list of ingredients needed for all pieces. Combine all ingredients except the mold to get the Northern Wolf material required in the box provided. Then place material and mold in a forge and voila newbie armor with decent stats. I have not completed the quest yet just parsed out this data. So far this appears to be the easiest of the newbie armor quest I have seen. Most of the stuff needed can be bought. Also hint...hint...all those rusty weps looted can be converted to ore fairly easily and you will get credit towards your Smithing skill. (Rusty wep + sharpening stone = Tarnished wep tarnished wep + flask of water = ore. Daggers axes, short swords and rapiers convert directly to pieces of ore needed. Newbie blacksmithes will experience failures in this conversion but it is cheaper than buying ore).
