But it sells to vendors for 14pp even when it's out of charges.

The effect that is listed on this item (I'm looking at it in the Bazaar) is Stalking Probe. Yes, that's the name of the effect, as well as the name of the item. I don't know whether that effect is the same as the Eye of Zomm or not. It's being offered for 50 plat on Saryrn, with 5 charges.

no it does have 5 charges, i should know having made 3 toolboxes full. They can be equiped in primary but don't have to be, you can trigger them in your inv slots too. Monks don't care about these anymore though, ever since the Non-aggro element was added

The tinkered version of these have 5 charges of 30 second Eye of Zomm, clickable, not random.

Monks are using these now days to pull from a distance. Mobs will aggro and kill said Eye, then go after the monk. You can pull from around corners, through doors and quite a distance, if you know what you are doing.

Plus, once they are expended, I am told that they will sell back to vendors for about 14pp.

random thing: as of feb 13 2k2, Eye of Zomm no longer aggros mobs.

This posting isn't correct. It has the effect Eye of Zomm (four charges). I know many individuals who find it usefull.
