Romar Sunto may be found at +395, +95, +18.

You say, 'Hail, Romar Sunto'

Romar Sunto says 'I am Romar Sunto, servant of Solusek Ro. I am searching for the [coin] of the mighty enchanter [Tash] - if you are interested in helping me acquire it, I will [reward] you with a powerful spell. I am also a dispenser of the Staff of Ro, sometimes also called [darkwood staves].'

You say, 'What coin?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash had a collection of ten antique silver coins that were left in different cities around the world. If you were to collect all 10 coins, I would give you a [coin pouch] that would let you combine them into the master coin of Tash. If you are interested, I will sell you a copy of the Tome of Tash, detailing where the coins were reportedly left, for a mere 50 gold.'

You say, 'Who was Tash?'

Romar Sunto says 'Tash was a mighty enchanter and master jewelcrafter.'

You say, 'What is the reward?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will reward you with a scroll for the spell Tashania. For personal use, of course.'

Romar Sunto says 'Once you combine the coins within the pouch, you must take the Coin of Tash to Tarn Vislin in the HighKeep library to get it enchanted. Give him the coin and he will enchant it for you.'

Your faction standing with Temple Of Sol Ro got better.
Your faction standing with Shadowed Men got worse.
You gain experience!!

You say, 'What coin pouch?'

Romar Sunto says 'I will lend you this coin pouch - put all 10 antique silver coins into it and combine them into the Coin of Tash.'

For 50 gp, he will sell you a book called "Tome of Tesh" [sic] on where to find all 10 coins and will give you A Coin Pouch to combine them in. The coins are called "An Old Silver Coin," and can be found in the following places:

(1) Ak'anon - Near great wheel (not in water) (+1990, -260, -125);
(2) South Kaladim - Pool by warrior's guild (+75, +360, -5);
(3) Erudin Palace - in the pool outside the guilds (+703, +740, +44);
(4) North Qeynos - under Temple of Life "UFO" in the Koalindl Fish Pool (-90, -445, -10);
(5) Halas - lake in front of city to the left of docks on a ledge (-138, +179);
(6) Oggok - in lake near warrior guild at the north end (+103, +108);
(7) Grobb - in pool near bar where you first enter the zone (+197, -261);
(8) Neriak Commons - Outside Blind Fish window near ice comet rod (0, -795, -70);
(9) North Felwithe - at the edge of the fishing pond (-110, -790, -50);
(10) West Freeport - In the pool near the Arcstone portal (-150, -845, -233).

Take the 10 coins and combine them in the coin pouch to get a Coin of Tash.

Next, go visit Tarn Visilin in the Highpass Keep library at +75, -220.

You say, 'Hail, Tarn Visilin'

Tarn Visilin says 'Hello. I am Tarn Visilin.'

Give him the Coin of Tash.

Tarn Visilin says 'The Coin of Tash! Very good. I have laid a basic enchantment on it - to get it further enchanted you must take the coin to Mizr N'Mar in the Library of Neriak.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Glowing Coin of Tash. Go to Mizr N`Mar in the library in Neriak 3rd Gate at +915, -1315, -67. and give him the coin of Tash.

Mizr N`Mar says 'Ah - the Coin of Tash - and already enchanted by..? Tarn? Very good! I have enchanted it further - you must now take the coin to Raine Beteria in the Library of Erudin to get the final enchantment.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Gleaming Coin of Tash. Go to Raine Beteria in Erudin at -1050, -210, +68, and give her the coin.

Raine Beteria says 'Thank you very much. I have always wanted one of these! Hehehe? just kidding. I see that you have enchanted this coin. I have placed the final enchantment on it - take it back to Romar.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Radiant Coin of Tash. Take this back to Romar.

Romar Sunto says 'The Coin of Tash - fully enchanted! I am in your debt. Here is the scroll of Tashania that was promised to you.'

You gain experience!!

Need additional spawn /loc for items, any additional faction hits, etc.

If you wait until Kunark to do this quest, bind yourself in the Firepot Room in Timorous Deep - makes this quest MUCH faster to do completely on your own.

Here is my walkthrough -- Please note that I didn't do the places in the order listed in the article

Done on TLP (Phinigel) 6/21/2016 -- the order I did them in is below

Starting Notes:
a) I am high-elf
b) I am agnostic
c) I had all my illusion spells
d) I was 43 at the time
e) I ran everywhere period, with jboots
f) I collected all the coins first

1. Felwithe -- in the water, in north, at the culdasac at the end of the fishing pond.

2. West Freeport -- Go the sorcers tower. Go inside and down past the research people to the lower level but Don't teleport up. Instead if you go to the teleporter near that coordiantes, you will see the bag in the water, on the left side of the teleporter. So drop in and get it

3. Neriak -- When you zone into the commons and you go over the bridge, do NOT open the giant "eye brow" gate. Instead, while facing it, drop off the your left. the bag will be at the bottom at the coordinates listed (but NOT inside the gate). You can then gate out or you need to swim around to the far right (right side if facing gate), and jump up where the boat is and run back around to get out, back to the forth quarter

4. Gobb - zone in. Make sure you are in Troll Illusion - head past the priest of discord. Keep going straight, jump over the 3 foot of water. There should be a little "rise" with a guard on your leftish. Keep him there and run (around) the "rise" Its about 4 foot tall where it stands. Once over it, take the first right and immediately right again. It's more like a "roundish right". You should have passed Hergo, the Warrior GM, he will be on your left (or she whatever). Cross over the bridge, and you will see Gralok the warrior Gm on your right. At about his... 11PM is the little "pool of water" that has the bag. It's off more to the right, nearer the wall, than the left (little foot path). Use FIND to get out, or gate out. If you run out, make sure to have invis since your Illusion will drop when you leave

5. Ogguk -- zone in. Turn into Ogre. Invis. Use FIND, uncheck find only what i can use. Pick the first Warrior Guild NPC. SOON as you get to the warrior guild "home base" which is surrounded by water.. jump off and down to the right. then use the loc provided and bingo it's in the water. Climb out or gate or whatever.. I ran out

6. North Qeynos - From Ogguk -- Run through Innothule / Feerroot / Rathe Mountains / Lake Rathe / Karana / West Karana / Qeynos Hills / North Qeynos
Go into Town (I am not KOS so... but go invised). Use FIND to FIND Paladin GM Davloran. It will take you to the Pool of water and the FIND will want you to go up the "stairwell".. Don't go up. Just look to the left of the walkway, about 3/4 up into the water, you will see the bag

7. Erudin -- North Qeynos go to South Qeynos. Use Translocator Sedina , whom takes you directly to Erudin's Crossing. Once you zone in Immediately talk to Translocator Jempar to teleport to Erudin (thae boat dock area). Then enter the City Proper, via the teleporter (giant blue one ont he ground, not one of the 3 smaller ones). Then take the Teleporter into the Erudin Palace. From there you can do FIND Enchanter GM (another person mentioned this too). Specifically look for Alcinda Soolpop. Right behind her is the rock formation. THe bag is on the bag side of it (from where she stands). Not actually IN the water. Teleport back OUT of the Palace back into Erudin.

8. Halas -- From Erudin's Palace (or if you already ran back to Erudin). Go to the Erudin Boat Docks. Take the Translocator to Erudin's Crossing. Immediately Take Translocator Jempar back to Qeynos (south). Then run to North Qeynos, and then to Qeynos Hills. Now we take Blackburrow and use FIND to get to Everfrost Peaks. And use FIND to get toryou Halas. Once you zone into Halas just run straight to the water. Then follow the wall on your left, until you get to the loc. Then swim down about 10 feet. It is on a ledge. The water is deep, but the ledge is oly about 10 feet down.

Now I origined back to Felwithe (My gate was in Guk, so that wouldn't work lol)

9. Ak'Anon -- because I am Origined to Felwithe. Run through Gfay / Lesser Fay/ Streamfont Mountains -- into Ak'Anon. From the zone in, you have to by Rylin Coil the Merchant. You are going to the Waterfall (but on top of it), and next to the wheel, on the left side, specifically next to the little like two foot tall stone thing with a Yellow Star on top... is the back. You can use find to get back out or Origin. I had 4mins left so I ran out.

10. South Kaladim -- Zone in, hit FIND Warrior GM. It takes you to the back. Right before the steps into the Guild Room, is a little "pool".. jump in dive down (it's shallow). Bag is in the center

Now for the actual Quest / Turn ins

Step 1. Solosek Temple -- I ran out of Kaladim and headed to the Translocator to Ocean of Tears, so I could take the next Translocator to Freeport, and Common Lands, Nektulos and then LavaStorm. For this, go ALL the way to the middle back. Then hang a left, and come back (towards the front). You will be on the top floor. Soon as you hit the library (it's a little visually weird) but on the back left are stairs going down.. take them and there he is

Step 2. HighHold Keep -- Ok Ok I know I said that I ran everywhere... well I didn't pay for this port. I was going to origin back and run, when a druid came into the enchanter chanter and said, he would trade a port for Clarity. I took him up on it. Origined to Felwithe, met him in Gfay and ported to Misty Thicket, Zoned into Rivervale, Then Kithicore and then HH... Was way faster than North Karana. The guy is on the Middle Left.. Just follow the map. You can't use find sorry.

Step 3. Back to Neriak -- Origined back and donated clarity / brilliance to get a port to Commons. Ran to Nek / into Neriak

NOTE: Before Step 4, make sure you have PP on you, the NPC has your illusion spells. I think its like 9 spells and will be about 200ish PP for all.

Step 4. To Erudin -- Nektulos / LavaStorm / Rathe Mountains / Lake Rathe / South Karana / North Karana / West Karana / Qeynos Hills / North Qeynos / South Qeynos / Translator to Erudin's Crossing / Translator to Erudin's Boat Doc / Teleport into Erudin. Use FIND for Raine Beteria, she is on the second floor. Also while there buy your illusion spells.

Ported back to Guk where I was bound

Step 5. Temple of Solusek -- ok long long run here. Guk / Innothule / Sro / Nro / Commonlands / Nektolus / Lavastorm / Temple... Turn in and done..

Whew..

This quest seems easy to complete but if you have a druid friend to port you around it would make life easier. I unfortunately had to run the whole way accept for a origin or two back to Erudin for the final Enchantment. Lots of spots are KOS but if you invs and use illusion you should be fine. I did have a little trouble with guards in Neriak aggroing me but I just zoned it off and invsed up again and went in (with illusion Dark Elf on) no trouble with turn in.
I think the tougest parts are just the logistics of the quest. Took me about 3 hours to complete from start to finish and this spell is a must have so if you are bored and want something to achieve this is perfect to quest.

Maybe this quest description should have a spoiler alert. It would be fun to solve the riddles in the "Tome of Tesh" [sic]. I tried not to read any more of the locations once I realized the book gave them as riddles (you can read them on the Tome of Tesh's page).

Grobb - update for TLP server
# Jun 04 2011 at 4:58 AM Rating: Decent
I read the post below and thought I'd have a problem finding the coin as the mercenary liason is not on the TLP server. Fortunately my map had Chopper Brenga labeled. Chopper Brenga is in the game, on TLP at least. Go to /loc POS 209 NEG 264. That will put you near the pool where the coin is. Yes it's just before the bar - Gunthak's Beitch. Thank you Mapfiend.

Chopper Bregna *has* been removed from the game-kinda.
She's now Bregna - Shaman Guildmaster.

She's also now nowhere near the coin.

Enter Grobb.

Do a /find on either mercenary liason.

Follow the find...when you get to a bar/tavern called Gunthak Beitch, drop into the water to the right side of the narrow broken ground you'd cross to go into the bar. The coin is there in the water.

Note: Being in illusion troll makes it *very* hard to move around in the small channel of water. You may want to try illusion dark elf rather than illusion troll.

Agnostic is the way to go if you want to be an Ench. When I changed to DE form and used Ben, I got most the citizens to like me a lot (amiable).

The hardest ones for me to find were the Neriak one (It's outside the gate into the commons on the left hand side) and the Grobb one (Go into Grobb, keep going until you can go right. The coin is in a mucky pond right outside "Gunthak's Belch")

Being a Gnome, it was in the Evil cities that I had the most fun- er, I mean the most trouble. Happy hunting!

Wrong. Test something before you tell the rest of us it works. Guard faction has zero effect on Raine Beteria, just as logic suggests it shouldn't. What is aggravating is that Sony/Verant gave us just one NPC apparently that we can use to raise her faction (I could only get from Dubious to Indifferent with Benevolence), and it's so far out of the way and has so little connection to Raine that I don't know how Vamilae figured it out, but am grateful she did and that she shared it with us.

Anyway, as previously posted, the only NPC you can cast Benevolence on to raise faction with Raine is indeed Jordin Sretin in the Port Authority by the Erudin docks. I tried dozens and dozens of NPCs to no avail; after I found that post and Jordin, it worked like a charm (although this does prove that Indifferent faction is all you need, not a "high faction" like the walk through suggests). Then again, the walk through is also erroneous and misleading in that it suggests you can cast Benevolence on Raine, which you cannot.

THANK YOU! This still worked on the time progression server Ragefire in 2015. I was so mad after spending hours on this quest and getting to her and being dubious. Casting Benevolence on Jordin Sretin in the Port Authority at the Erudin docks took me to amiably and was able to hand in my coin.

The Grobb Coin can be easily found by performing a /find for baking supplies. Look for Chopper Brenga. The Coin is directly in front of her in a pool of water.

On a side note, the Trolls were very friendly. At least 14 of them came running when my Invisibility spell broke. Thank Veeshan for SoW.

Chopper Brenga has been removed from the game.
Do a find on the Warrior Guildmaster Guntrik.
The coin is located in the water, at the bottom of the lake, under the pillar of the Warrior Guild hall almost where Guntrik is standing. If you don't see it, circle that pillar.

Incidentally, once you are completely under the water, you are safely untargetable, and you can switch to your water elemental illusion if you wish. Just remember to gate out when you get the coin *without* coming up for air if the ogres don't like you....

The Coin in Erudin Palace is in a very shallow pool (you won't be able to swim in it) that sits between the caster guilds. You'll actually find it on the ROCKS in the pool rather than in the water. I simply did a /find for Enchanter GM and was led right to the pool in question.

The Coin in Northern Felwithe can be found by following the gaze of Tolkar Parlone, a High Elf NPC standing on a pier of sorts. He faces East. Take a swim away from him (East) and you'll find the Coin.

Happy Swimming.

To say that the Ak'Anon coin is a few feet from a Cleric GM is entirely misleading. Is is in fact NORTH of the water wheel (on the waterfall side). It's right next to one of those "lamps" that you see around Ak'Anon, the ones with the greenish-yellow trapezoids rotating as if by magic.

The guide leads to you the general vicinity of the wheel but you have to do a little more leg-work to actually find it. I found the best thing to do was check my /loc for the proper elevation (third number), which told me that I was level with the coin, so to speak. I didn't need to go up, or down any more stairs, ramps, etc.

If you have pre-fab maps I would suggest that your destination lie to the Southwest of the Cleric GMs in a large cavern with a large body of water.

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but you can just use 'find' to the Cleric guild-master and the coin is on the ground just a few feet away from her.

The posts on this forum are quite accurate concerning this quest. A few points worth revisiting:

The coins are nearly all in the water. The Ak Anon coin is on the ground just beside the water wheel (as stated by others).

You can pick up the coins while invised.

As a drakkin enchanter I was dubious with illusion Erudite on. Having previously failed to purchase spells from Raine Betaria in Erudin I was hesitant to give her my coin for the final turn in. Vamilae's strategy was perfect (and would work if I really had to buy the spells off her --but there are other vendors).

Quote:
"I found an NPC in the erudine port authority (by the docks), named Jordin Sretin, that you can cast benevolence on and it will raise your faction with the Raine Beteria (got to amiable myself) and you should be allowed to turn in the coin for the final tash coin".

Vamilae (Sleeper)

As a Drakkin I had a cakewalk in Neriak as illusion dark elf and benevolence brought me to amiable with most of the npcs in the area I was.

The West Freeport loc after zone revision...

Quote:
The West Freeport coin: "It is in the water of the new Arcane sciences building. It is pretty easy to find. When you are in the big room with the spinning sphere jump in the water and start making the circle and there it is!

The earliest posts on this quest predate PoK, the amount of time involved is minimal (compared to what it would be with no PoK and the current availablility of ports) as long as you know your way around the cities and can follow the directions in the write up --just be bound in PoK. Having a runspeed buff on doesn't hurt either.

Patch fixed the combine bug

As of the last patch, the 10 coins will once again combine in there pouch to make a coin of Tash.

I was skeptical at my first turn in because I was only indifferent. Illusions did not work and alliance spells would not stick. Indifferent was good enough and all the turn ins worked just fine. I now have the scroll and all is well.

Good hunting and safe journies!

If you are a dark elf, you can just stand behind Raine and use your 'hide' and you are indifferent. I turned the coin in then and had no trouble. The benevolence nerf does make me angry however, as I can't do illusion Iksar or the Stein of Moggok quests easily

Aight, I just did this quest on my 48 DE enc w/ inny diety and the hardest part was figuring out how to do the turn in to the NPC in erudin. With erudite illusion i was apprehensive to her, and since SoE nerfed benevolence for some stupid reason so you can not cast it directly on the NPC i was wondering around looking for someone that has the same faction as her. I found an NPC in the erudine port authority (by the docks), named Jordin Sretin, that you can cast benevolence on and it will raise your faction with the Raine Beteria (got to amiable myself) and you should be allowed to turn in the coin for the final tash coin.

hope this helps,

Thank you so much for your post! That must have taken forever to figure out. Raine Beteria wanted nothing at all to do with my Drakkin chanter (even with Erudite illusion) and I doubt I would have been able to complete this quest without your post. Casting benevolence on Jordain Sretin works. I only made it to "indifferent" but it was enough and with your directions it took no time at all. Thanks again!

Great quest writeup, but a few clarifying comments:

The Halas coin is under the lake in front of the city at the specified loc. "On a ledge" makes it sound like it's on one of the mountain ledges that surround the lake; it's not.

For those unaware of where the library in HHK is, it's on the floor you come in on. Go forward past the opening courtyard and then take a left.

Illusion: Dark Elf got me to dubious with the Neriak guards (I am Erollisi Marr, the diety DEs should hate most). However I was STILL KoS to the Shadowknight Guild. So invis to the coin.

Raine Beteria in Erudin can no longer be the target of any Alliance spells (neither can most of the other turnin NPCs in this quest). Don't know when this changed. It simply says "Your spell did not take hold" if you try to cast one on her. But Illusion: Erudite got me to indifferent with her and that was enough for the turnin.

Seems to be a bug on FV server. Coin is not in West Freeport location. Had a guildmate check just to make sure it wasn't just me. This is right after the June 13, Patch so maybe it is a new directx 9c bug?

Are you still experiencing the issue? I could find the coin just fine last night.

This took a good 3 hours or more to do, I didn't have sow but I had no difficulty finding the locations of any of the coins or npc's. There is a lot of running around in this quest. For the time involved its not worth doing the quest unless you happen to be running around to the towns and other places anyway. Easy to do with illusions, invis and Benevolence.

As far as faction to start it... I was able to do it as indifferent. Hope this helps

Also, there was no faction hit good or bad for doing this.

I just found this coin today at neg 152, neg 844, neg 233.

It was at the bottom of the big pool that surrounds the Arcstone Portal.

Just confirmed this, the coin is in the pool for the Arcstone portal at approximately -150,
-846, -233. Still looks like a bag too, lol.
