Aid Grimel is located at the top of the elevator in the Library in the Plane of Knowledge. Before you hail him, you must be flagged for full access to the elemental planes. You must also have an unmodified minimum skill of 220 in Baking.

At the end of the previous quest, Aid Grimel asked whether you fancied yourself a master chef.

You say, 'I am a master chef.'

Aid Grimel says, 'When we adventure in the Planes there is only one meal that keeps us in top fighting shape. It is called a Bristlebane's Party Platter. Unfortunately the platter is awkward and not easy to adventure with so you need to place them in this satchel. I know not how to make the Platter, a rather nice female Halfling cleric used to deliver them to us. Quite an amazing lass to be braving so many of the Planes by herself. We chatted a bit last time she was here about her next trip she was planning on taking. She was going to spend time in Plane of Justice, twice as long as the other Planes. From there she was going to the river in Nightmare. After departing the land of Terris-Thule she was going to visit the home of the God who was once tormented by Terris. After picking up a few baskets from a friend, she was off to the home of the Triumvirate. Alas! Word made it back to me she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for the dreaded beast's claws! Combine three of the platters and the signet inside the satchel.'

Aid Grimel gives you a field satchel. The halfling referred to is Niami DenMother, tradeskill mistress and proprietrix of the premier tradeskills website, www.eqtraders.com.

Combine three Bristlebanes Party Platters and the Runed Signet in the field satchel to craft a Food Satchel. Hand this to Aid Grimel.

Aid Grimel says 'Truly amazing! Now the Councilman and I can be off on our expedition to the Elemental Planes!' He takes out a tool and marks his signet before handing it to you, 'Before we depart you may want to ask the Councilman about the signet.'

This leads to the Signets of the Councilman quest.

I'm posting this here because I could not figure out what I did wrong the first time I killed Solusek Ro.
Nowhere did I ever find a SPOILER online mentioning that you had to take the lava tunnel. Nor did I find any texts from the planar projection.

After killing Solusek Ro, hail the planar projection.
Take the lava tunnel next to the planar projection to Plane of Fire.
Talk to Grand Librarian Maelin in PoK. "I have new information"
Receive the flag from Maelin.
Speak with Aid Grimel, and he gives you the Field Satchel
Do the combine as mentioned above and give it to Grimel to receive Runed Signet.

Now talk to the Councilman to start the Signet of Might / Arcane quest. Having pre-looted a hope stone from the elemental planes would save a lot of time.

After getting the Marked Runed Signet from Aid Grimel, you talk to Councilman Taldarius. Say What about the Marked Runed Signet. He will respond with the next quest, which is called Signets of the Councilman. This should be added to the quest above so that people don't inadvertently hand in their signet like I did :(

Flag requirements

It should be noted that to do this portion of the quest you need full Elemental Plane access. The details above say you only need RZ flag, which is not entirely accurate.

I have PoFire access, but haven't killed Agnarr yet - and Aid Grimel will not give me the baking quest.

May be bugged, my SK is fully elemental flagged but is unable to get this task with 300 baking skill. I'll try killing off the elemental gods too and see if that helps. I verified my flagging several times, but he just says 'Your knowledge of the Planes is impressive, however you still have much to learn.'.

Figured it out, had to talk to the head librarian one more time to get the last character flag, now I can get the quest.

I can confirm - I was fully elemental flagged and had thought I had received all of Maelin's flags, but with a 252 Baking skill I still couldn't get the quest. I turned around, said 'I have information' to Maelin, got the flag, turned back around, and was able to get the quest from Grimel.

To make party platters you will need: a bucket of crab legs, hero sandwich, picnic basket, 2 planar fruit pies, and slarghilug stuffed poppers. Each platter combine yields 2.

Bucket of Crab Legs: bucket (smithed: 2 metal bits {2 small pieces of ore and a water flask}, bucket mold, water flask), butter (bottle of milk, dairy spoon {smithed: 2 metal bits, scaler mold, water flask}, rennet), cracked regrua meat (crab cracker, regrua claws {dropped in the plane of water by regruas). To make the crab cracker, you will need to get a GM tinkerer to combine firewater (tinkered: gnomish spirts + water flask), Knuckle Joint (dropped in Innovation), and 2 metal rods (vendor purchased) in their tool box. Both the dairy spoon and the crab cracker are returned on failure and success. Yield: 2

Hero Sandwich: hero parts (off of human model mobs in HoHa and HoHb, as well as valorian guards in PoV), dressing (vegetable oil {brewed: vegetables, water flask}, vinegar), loaf of bread, smoked hero parts (hero parts, smoker, spices), spiced hero parts (hero parts, jug of sauces, vinegar, spices), and vegetables (foraged). To make the smoker for the smoked hero parts, you will need to combine: metal bits, smoker base mold, smoker support mold, a water flask, and skewers (water flask, metal bits, skewer mold) in a forge.Yield: 2

Planar Fruit Pie: 2 celestial essences (scent of marr + celestial solvent, combined in a mixing bowl), frosting (vendor purchased), clump of dough (snake egg, bottle of milk, cup of flour), planar fruit (foraged in Plane of Justice), muffin tin (smithing: water flask, metal bits, muffin tin mold, ceramic lining {pottery: ceramic lining sketch, water flask, small block of clay in a pottery wheel. fire the result in a kiln with a quality firing sheet). Muffin Tin is returned upon success and failure. Yield: 1

Slarghilug Stuffed Poppers: There are three ways you can make these. You can use either slarghilug leg, webbed tail fin, or unbroken eye stalk in this recipe. All come from Slarghilugs in the Plane of Nightmare. Combine: bottle of milk, cup of flour, habanero pepper (foraged), mature cheese (2 bottles of milk, dairy spoon, rennet), non-stick frying pan, and your choice of the slarghilug parts mentioned above. To make a Non-Stick Frying Pan: water flask, metal bits, ceramic lining, and frying pan mold in a forge. Yield: 2

Picnic Basket (tailored): woven mandrake (tailored: 2 mandrake roots), and steel boning (water flask, small brick of ore, file {smithed: water flask, metal bits, file mold}) Yield: 10

Hope this mindless drivel helped someone...and hopefully it made sense. :P Correct if necessary.

After completing the quest you can do it again up to the last combine giving casters :
42 AC
42 to all stats exept CHA
27 to all saves
145 HP
165 Mana
Flowing thought 3
regen ( 5 hp. pet tick )
and 15 percent savings to mana usage ( some heals are not allowed )
Melee get simular stats/ benifits except more HPs instead of mana.
You would rather gouge your eyes out? Call me a blind mother lol! currently on the tailoring part of the quest now and closing fast.
This is not a quest designed to be done with a mere few hrs of camping a mob but one that should take a long time to do. The reward is one of the best earrings in game and well worth the effort to spend some time on .

You seem to be a lil wrong on the amount of stats both earrings yield. Especiialy on the hp/mana...it would be alot higher
Well

I think I heard it said best. "I would rather gouge my own eyes out with jagged shards of glass than do that much trade skilling".

And as much as I agree withg that it is a sweeet earring. So mabey when I have nothing else to do Ill work.. Who am I kidding?
250 + Skills

I first thought the same thing when I looked at this quest. You can spend AA points to allow you to pass 200 in more than one skill. It is expensive though - 3AA points / skill. Hope this helps!

seems like you need a 250 in everything in order to complete this quest ? am I wrong or are you only allowed to get one skill that high ?

There is also an 8% dodge modifier to the signet of might I think. Still not as good as the Arcane but I wont complain I am a hybrid /smile

Reward

I believe the reward for this entire quest is the Marked Signet. This earring dropped in FM off a 35 level mob for a short time due to a error. Amazing earring, although I can't remember at the moment what the stats are, they were awesome

The Marked Signet is the reward for quest 5. The quest rewards get better from there.
