Jade Shard  

 

At one time, this item was used in DoN cultural before the revamp.

I got one of these off of the skulking brutes in warsliks wood while hunting HQ brute hides.

I got one off of a grimling warblood in the Grimling Forest.

This item's original use was as Mage research component for level 20ish Fire Elemental. At each of the old tiers for pets ( every four levels), at least one of the mage pet spells had to be researched, and one of the components would be an uncommon drop off a mob, stuff like Ice of Velious and Pearl Shards.

Anyway, enough of the history lesson. These drops then, and I imagine now, will be random off of any low 20's mob in virtually any zone, so hunt where you like to hunt in low 20's ( or for DoN armor purposes, farm where you farm)and make sure level of mobs is low 20's and you will EVENTUALLY get some

Got 3 jade shards in Sol Eye today averaged about 1 per whole zone wipe gess thats about 1 in 80 - 100 ish??? all 3 times it was a the goblins , one was a flame i dont remember what the other 2 were. Also picked up enough Fine Steel to start a Small army ( like 86 pc) , other then the gems it was the only thing i looted now that im 550lbs over weight & my buffs are gone its time to gate out of here.

Iwas in twilight hunting elementals and got 2 from fire elementals

I haven't found any in the wild but I have made a killing buying and selling them. Find them all the time on traders cheap (less than 100p) and always sell them for at least 425, usually in stacks of 5-15 at a time.

This has got to be some random drop, but hey one just dropped off an icebone skeleton at the ruins. My first one in 3 days after killing 1000's of goblin's. Maybe they got tired of me complaining about it lol, who knows. Now only need like 8 more ahahaha.

Ok since the search for jade shards has become a personal issue now (:)) After countless hours in the Lake of Ill Omen I have compiled the following on Goblins (which supposedly drop jade shards). Numbers in Parenthesis are kills.

Goblin Soothsayer: (27) 1 Idol of Woven Grass, 20 Green Goblin Skins, 4 Illegible Notes, 2 Greenscale Emeralds, 2 Koada'Dal Blood Dolls, A Tambourine of Rituals, Words of Absorption plus 10 other words (Karana, Cazic Thule, Cloudburst, etc.)
Goblin Warrior: (234) lol 8 Runes of Obsession, 80 Green Goblin Skins, 4 Flame Agates, 1 Jade, 2 Pearls, 1 Rune of Al'Kabor.
Goblin Agressor: (6) 7 Green Goblin Skins.
Goblin Pitfighter: (1) Goblin Sparring Gloves.
Goblin Messenger: (1) An Unfinished Note. (Note here: if one of the mobs runs he will go get the Messenger, this guy is yellow to a 37 Pally). Snare or Root.
Goblin BloodTracer: (6) 6 Tier'Dal Sooth Dolls, 1 Amber, 1 Part of Tasarin's Grimoire Pg. 26, 6 Tiny Glowing Skulls.
Grachnist the Destroyer: (2) 2 Iksar Scaled Gloves (Lore Item), 2 Goblin Slavers Whips.
Goblin Battlemaster: (35) 3 Goblin Bracers.
Goblin Scout: (3) 3 Goblin Scout Beads.
Goblin Witchdoctor: (3) 3 An Iksar Witch Dolls, 1 Bloodstone.
Goblin Watcher: (2) 2 Watcher Signal Torches, 1 Red Headband.
Goblin Warlord: (47) 45 Goblin Warlord Warbeads.
Goblin Spirit Caller: (27) Words of Possession, Allure, Recluse, etc. 3 Spirit Caller Beads.
Goblin Hextracer: (1) 1 Froglok Hex Doll, 1 Golden Earring.

Now notice none of these dropped a jade shard, but I have made over 150pp killing all these.

The only things I have seen that have ever dropped Jade Shards in these two zones have been one Charbone Skeleton in LOIO at Undead Ruins, and 2 off Skulking Beasts in Warsliks Wood.

I was camping the Undead Ruins in Lake of Ill Omen and looted a jade shard off of a Charbone Skeleton.

can i get a price check for these things im a lvl 26 mage and dont want to get ripped off

i hope some of you are on the stromm server ! I need these for my cultural armor! I am a lvl 30+ driud and am trying to get my armor and weapons upgraded! I have had little success in finding good stuff in the bazar for anything resembling a fair price!!!
course if i want to spend 30 000 on a scimitar that hits less than what i have now but is unuseable to me until lvl 45 then i guess its a bargain! ( not!)
any help in locating these, supposedly, all over items would be wonderful since i have found only one in a month of looking and am getting tired of fighting green mobs !!! i want to advance!!!

I have been hunting all the list zone and mob list above and never recieved one shard for a 3 night outing and killing over 300 mobs doing so. made 400p in process so thats a plus, but I went to unrest on a guildie hint and spent 1.5 hours and got two drop. :0 I am one happy BL now.

Just received this shard off a Blazing Elemental in Solusek's Eye.

I ran all over-I mean ALL OVER-checking merchants for these, then I found that Elementalist Siewth in POK library sells them. Pearl shards too. <sigh>
DOH! Guess she does not sell them, someone must have sold them to her. Who has like eighty jade and pearl shards? But she didn't have them after the patch, sorry.

Daleen Leafsway in Rivervale does not sell Jade Shards. (except occasionally, maybe)

Got one of these off a ghoul in Unrest today

I have been twice to Thurgadin and Tobart Dirkins but no Jade Shards for sale.

I have gotten jade shards off frontier mountain giants and kobolds in nagafen's lair, they are as random as mithril earrings, gold rings, or any of the other rare "anywhere" items

These also drop off the gargs in Ocean of Tears. Got one last night. Aparently they are usless (.

Just picked one up in the Overthere last week off of a succulent. Are these used as a spell component, or anything similarly useful?
