Talk to Taminoa Bialu

  • Taminoa Bialu may be found near Fezbin Fizzles at -35, +60, with whom you must have already completed the preflagging to accomplish this step of the quest.

    You say, 'Hail, Taminoa Bialu'

Taminoa Bialu says 'Greetings. You must be one of the adventurers that Fezbin told me about. It is a pleasure to meet such a brave individual. Where are my manners? My name is Taminoa Bialu and I compile all the information from our scouts in the [city] area of Taelosia.'

    You say, 'What city?'

Taminoa Bialu says 'Well, it appears the native inhabitants of Taelosia lived in a grand city once. This city is made up of four different areas named in their language. They are [Qinimi], [Riwwi], [Barindu], and [Ferubi]. Based off of early information, we believe each area had a specific purpose. I am still trying to decipher the native language to figure out what the names mean, but going off of visual information I can assume that Qinimi served as their court, Riwwi is where they held games, Barindu was a lush garden, and Ferubi was a central place of worship once. That is about the extent of my information as far as the intended purpose of each area. What they are now used for I can explain in further detail. Which area would you like to hear more about?'

    You say, 'What is Riwwi?'

Taminoa Bialu says 'Riwwi has to be the most interesting of all of the city areas. You see, this is where the coliseum is located. Now, we are not completely aware of how it was used before this invading army took up residence in the area, but now it is used for the merciless slaughter of the nihil. Early reports from our scout, Reyna, indicate that the slaves in the area would not interact with her until she proved herself. How she was able to do this I am not sure, but I would suggest trying to find something of Reyna's while I go over my Riwwi information. Come back to me when you find something.'

    Reyna's Demise

  • It seems Reyna did get in a bad situation. You will find Reyna's Bloody Earring as a random drop in Riwwi. Hand it to Taminoa:

Taminoa Bialu says 'This does not bode well for Reyna's fate. If I had to guess, I would say they took her to the coliseum. Knowing what we know about these strange beings, they would have taken her to the coliseum just so they could entertain themselves by torturing her. You must find a way into the coliseum and save Reyna. I think your best plan of action would be to locate and speak to Turlini and Namosa. They are two slaves Reyna mentioned in her reports. They may not talk to you if you have not proven yourself, but once you do that they should be pretty helpful. They may even know an easy way into the coliseum. Find these two and ask them about Reyna. Return to me when you find out more information about her.'

  • So, you are directed to two slaves, Turlini and Namosa, who will not trust you at first. This is an entire side quest, which results in its own rewards. It also takes a while.

Gain faction with the Yunjo Resistance

  • You can gain faction by relentlessly killing some of the mobs that give off the required faction increase (not all do, and the faction is rumored to be quite small).

You can also help some of the slaves. This is how Reyna did it. There are some slaves that are hungry and thirsty, located in the first building to the left of the Qinimi zone line. They require some player-made foods and drinks from native Taelosian products.
    • Thirsting Yunjo - Needs Taelosian Tea - +5 faction per turn in.

    • Starved Yunjo - Something with Cragbeast- +2 faction per turn in.

    • Emaciated Yunjo - Something with Crab- +2 faction per turn in.

    • Famished Yunjo - Something with Tuna- +2 faction per turn in.

    • Hungry Yunjo - Something with Hynid- +2 faction per turn in.

Rumor has it that the higher degree of skill required to make the food or drink, the higher the resulting faction hit.

Each slave will tell you what it wants (sometimes, they want something other than what is specified). Turn in these for faction gain to the appropriate slave, stacks can be turned in all at once and all will be counted. The enslave is then sated and won't accept more (you need to wait for them to respawn as hungry/thirsty ones). The respawn time is 15-20 minutes, and the type of Yunjo that pops is random, either An Enslaved Yunjo, or one of the 5 types listed above.

You need to attain high kindly faction standing with the Yunjo Resistance to talk to the two slaves. The Taelosian Morphemic Staff (grants positive faction to Nihil and Yunjo Resistance) can go a long way toward helping you along here.

    Namosa's Family

  • Namosa Bubundu may be found at -220, -190, +25 in Riwwi, in the "pavilion" straight out from Qinimi. You must have at least kindly faction to speak with Namosa successfully.

    You say, 'Hail, Namosa Bubundu'

Namosa Bubundu coughs pitifully and looks through you with weak eyes, 'This gazebo was once a place of contemplation, meditation, and reflection, but now it is a place of torture. These slavers shackle us here within feet of the pool of water and refuse us food or drink for days at a time, accompanied by horrible beatings. And now, I have had enough. I am through with this world and can only hope for peace in my passing. Before I pass on I wonder if you could do a [favor] for me?'

    You say, 'What favor?'

Namosa Bubundu slips you a scuffed signet ring, 'Yes, yes. Here is a family heirloom that I have been keeping secret from our captors. If you deliver this ring to my kin, I can die in peace knowing it never fell into their hands. There are rumors that some of my family members have escaped the clutches of these monsters and made their way into a city that floats on water. I hope you understand, friend. Go quickly.'

  • You receive a Scuffed Signet Ring. Go talk to Pandula Bubundu at +10, -145, +115 on the ship in the Abysmal Sea.

    You say, 'Hail, Pandula Bubundu'

Pandula Bubundu says 'What can I do for you? I'm waiting to hear word from the Wayfarer scouts. My niece has been captured by the Muramites and I only wish to discover if she is still alive. I can't take this, not knowing. I would much rather endure a thousand of those beast's whips than be kept in the dark. Please find her for me.'

  • Give Pandula the Scuffed Signet Ring.

Pandula Bubundu sobs uncontrollably, tears welling up in her eyes, 'So my little one is still out there. This is wonderful news. I can now die in peace. The Wayfarers have transcribed my final wishes onto this parchment. Please deliver this to Namosa.'

  • You receive Pandula's Final Words. Take these back to Namosa.

Namosa Bubundu gasps, 'What?! Oh no, this isn't good at all. She isn't supposed to die. I am! Quick, go and see Councilman Tentric in Qinimi and let him know what's happening. He has always helped our family when we were in need. If you bring this token he will know I sent you!'

  • You receive a Token of Understanding. Go find Councilman Tentric in Qinimi at +285, -995, -15, in the southeast hut.

    You say, 'Hail, Councilman Tentric'

Councilman Tentric says 'You haven't come to demand something of me, have you? I've been subjected to enough atrocities already. Please leave this old man in peace.'

  • Give him the Token of Understanding.

Councilman Tentric nods solemnly, 'Hmm . . . I see. So Pandula is contemplating leaving this world. There is no doubt that these are hard times. Our people are strong however, and nothing will truly break our spirit. Please let Pandula know that the gods have not forgotten us. Bring her this holy symbol.'

  • You receive a Symbol of Faith. Take it to Pandula.

Pandula Bubundu looks quizzically at the symbol and rubs it in her hands. She smiles as if realizing something, 'Ah, Tentric, you are always right. I can't give up on this world or my family. I'm not sure why I was behaving so selfishly. Take this flower to my niece, she will know what it means.'

  • You receive a Drakelily. Take it to Namosa.

You have received a character flag!

Namosa Bubundu says 'A drakelily? My aunt grew these in her garden. In fact, I helped her plant some of them myself. She always told me they were a sign of hope. Thank you, ______. I'll inform our people of your kindness.'

Namosa touches your shoulder and gazes at you with pleading eyes. 'I hope this isn't presumptuous of me. You've already done so much. Before you go, I need to ask you for another favor. Turlini is under heavy guard in one of the nearby towers. The Muramites think he's up to something and I'm concerned they may torture or kill him. Please have a talk with Turlini when you can.'

  • You receive a Crescent Stone Amulet, whose use is not yet known.

    Turlini's Revolt

  • This part can be completed on its own as a side quest for its own rewards, provided you have completed the Namosa's Family portion.

    You say, 'Hail, Turlini'

Turlini beams with excitement, 'I recognize you! One of the adventurers we've heard tales about! There are rumors of you destroying the Legion of Mata Muram. Have you come to set us free?'

You say, 'I have come to set you free.'

Turlini says 'Bless you, we're saved! Listen up, friend. I've already formulated a plan to stage a quick and decisive escape, but first we need to get our hands on a complete set of shackle keys. Just a few won't suffice; it must be entire set. If we were to rescue only some of my brethren, those that remain behind would be brutally tortured beyond imagination. Now, I've watched the guards carefully and counted the silvery keys they carry. There are ten in total. Combine the set in this sack and return it to me. I knew you would help!'

  • You receive Turlini's Key Bag. You now need to collect the 10 keys, which may be obtained as follows:
    1. Jagged Silvery Key: A desiccated corpse is located right across the first bridge from Riwwi zone in from Qinimi. Approaching triggers 7 stonemites, and spawns the key at the bottom of the canal.

    2. Notched Silvery Key: dropped by Night Watchman Fxi in Riwwi

    3. Serrated Silvery Key: dropped by Officiator Keviazh in Riwwi

    4. Polished Silvery Key: ground spawn at various places in Riwwi (appears at one place only at a time):

      • 50, -490 underwater

      • -328, -735 in the fountain

      • -460,-280 in a ruined building between Qinimi and Ferubi

      • 32, 32, on a crate

      • 521, -682 behind a pillar

      • -210, 0 outside of Qinimi entrance, near two fallen pillars

      • behind the pillar in front of the officiator, to the right

      • -240, -165 in small well on top of platform with the 2 named Nihil

    5. Ridged Silvery Key: Talk to Rorrst in Abysmal Sea, at +30, +90, +100. Saney Jakis stands next to him.

      You say, 'Hail, Rorrst'

Rorrst smirks and nods politely your way. The glint of a silvery key hanging from a chain around his neck catches your eye.

You say, 'What is that key?'

Rorrst says 'Oh what, this little thing?' He grasps the key with one hand and holds it forth, displaying it proudly. This be my pride and joy, aye. Stolen right out from under the nose of those blasted Muramites. They be mighty angry at my trespass, I gather.'

Saney Jakis is right next to him.

      You say, 'Hail, Saney Jakis'

Saney Jakis says 'Pleasure to meet you, ______! How are you making out? My friend and I traveled from afar in search of adventure and we've certainly found it. This strange land has delivered excitement in spades. Hasn't it, Rorrst?'

You say, 'What is that key?'

Saney Jakis says 'Are you trying to reason with Rorrst?' Saney unsuccessfully attempts to stifle her tinny, high-pitch chortle. 'Now THAT'S a waste of time, and I would know. Personal experience. If you want something from him you'll have to try a different angle: Appeal to his coinpurse. Money talks. Tell him I said so.'

      To Rorrst:

You say, 'Saney says money talks.

Rorrst chuckles. 'Money talks? Aye, it does. Keep in mind I still can't give you the original, it means far too much to me. If you're dying to have the key you can make a copy. Say twenty-five thousand gold. It's a nice round number. That should be relatively trivial for someone of your background to obtain.'

For 25,000gp, he'll give you a Impression of a Key. Combine with a Silver Bar in a Jeweler's Kit (you get the mold back on failure).

    6. Scored Silvery Key: Talk to Iniba the Confused in Riwwi (jail cell in the NW room of the Coliseum), and ask "Please". If you have a high begging skill (151+), she'll give it to you.

    7. Five-Toothed Silvery Key: uncommon drop from the Aneuks in Barindu's temple area

    8. Elongated Silvery Key: ground spawn at -112,285 in a ruined building in Barindu

    9. Edgeless Silvery Key: rare drop in Qinimi from various mobs

    10. Blunt Silvery Key: dropped by various named in Qinimi, including Pixtt Kerxek Vket, Pixtt Krakt Ticov, Pixtt Trext Rexi, and Rav Krixt Tekrik

  • Combine the 10 keys in the bag to craft a Sack of Silvery Keys. Give this to Turlini.

You have received a character flag!

Turlini fishes a jagged key from the sack and tries it on his manacles. They unlock with a loud snap and slide off his wrists. His expression melts into simultaneous shock and elation. 'YES! We will be freed. Very soon now, these chains will bind my people no longer! And as for you, ______, you will become a legend among my people.'

Turlini can barely contain his excitement. 'This is wonderful news, friend. Freedom is within our grasp! The only problem remaining is the ever-present guards. They are always watching over us. We would need a monumental distraction to buy enough time for me to release everyone. Which is where you come in. One of your kind who goes by the name of Reyna has been taken to the arena and has been tortured daily in front of the Muramite masses. If you were to create enough of a ruckus in the arena trying to free her I think we could make our escape.'

Your faction standing with Gladiators of Mata Muram has been adjusted by -25
    You gain experience!!

    The Great Diversion: Freeing Reyna

  • Once you have the flag from Turlini, you can start a series of increasingly difficult fights in the coliseum in Riwwi. Talk to "an enslaved yunjo" in the coliseum.

You say, 'Hail, an enslaved yunjo'

an enslaved yunjo says 'It's you! The champion everyone has spoken of! Have you come to defy the Muramites?'

You say, 'I have come to defy the Muramites.'

an enslaved yunjo shouts '______ defies you! Do you hear me? ______ defies you and will destroy your kind!'

An officiator shouts, 'We'll see how defiant ______ is after they have been crushed for our amusement. Send in one of our trained hynids!'

an enslaved yunjo says 'Stand fast and prepare for a fight! They're sending a bloodthirsty beast into the arena to kill you as we speak. If you defeat it, place the head in this sack as proof and return it to Turlini. He is the leader of the resistance and may be able to assist you for helping us.'

  • At the beginning of each encounter, you get a bag, typically called the Satchel of the XX Battle, where "XX" is numbered from "First" through "Tenth." This will trigger one or more mobs entering the arena. Kill the mob(s), loot the head(s), and combine them into the appropriate satchel. Each battle is a single-group encounter. Anyone outside the group who interferes will cause the Officiators to call the interference unfair, and the interferer will be teleported to the zoneline. After each battle, head back to Turlini and turn in the satchel to receive an upgraded necklace. You may then give the necklace to the slaves in the coliseum to begin the next battle in the series. Note that Turlini despawns about 15 seconds after the turn-in, so you must wait between battles for him to respawn.

If you fail an encounter, you must start over from wave 1. If a mob gates, it is considered a failure.

Something I could not tell you until now. Reyna passed on a few days ago. Her last request was that I give this to someone who had proven his or her worth. You have more than done that. I wish there were more I could do, but we are masters of shaping stone not life.'

You receive Sash of the Yunjo's Champion.

    The Finale

  • After you've finished the diversion, Turlini has good news and bad news.

You have received a character flag!

Turlini shouts with joy. 'Aha, you've done it! Thanks to your distractions in the coliseum, the Muramite legion is engulfed in utter chaos. We will take this opportunity to escape. Turlini says 'I can't wait to be reunited with my family! Let's get out of this place.'

  • You get Reyna's Scout Report. Give this to Taminoa Bialu.

Taminoa Bialu says 'Reyna was a skilled scout who had spent many years honing her abilities. Learning that she died so horribly upsets the stomach, but she died trying to help others. Yes . . . that's what we should focus on. This report you have returned will be a great help to us and this reward should help you as well. It was wrapped in the report and appears to be a gem fragment that may fit into the stone Fezbin gave you. Now to the rest of the city. Hopefully we can prevent our other scouts from suffering the same fate as Reyna.'

You have successfully completed a section of the Taelosian City.

  • You receive A Glowing Gem Shard, which you may combine with A Shiny Socketed Crystal and Vaifan's Clockwork Gemcutter Tools in Vaifan's Experimental Sealer to craft A Glowing Socketed Crystal.

I made some higher difficulty food than the basic hynid / crab / etc, specifically I made Buttered Steaks, and turned those in. I was getting +5 for food per turnin when doing that.

So you were getting +5 faction for Yunjo Slave Resistance for every turn in?

Correct, I was getting 5 faction each turnin (40 per mob).

A guildmate tried 252+ food, it was still 5 faction. Appears to be the food/drink type (banquet, meal, snack, etc) that determines.

Ok so this worked for any of the slaves? Thirsty Yunjo, Starved Yunjo and so forth.

Namosa's Family (i.e. the bolded section of the walkthrough text above) has 5 faction hits:

All of the faction hits except the last one are +1 and -1 respectively (four faction hits lwith these numbers).

The final faction hit where you get the Crescent Stone Amulet is +50 and -25 (one of faction hit with these numbers).

I will post about other faction hits as I get them in reply to this comment.

The bag of 10 keys turn in is +50 slave resistance and -25 Gladiators.

Working on the fights now so far all +1 and -2 respectively.

    Edit:
Upon review, faction hits were for bag turn ins during the Diversion were from mobs not the turn-ins.

Howevever the sack of silvery keys faction numbers (+50 and -25) above are correct.

Apologies, I was pretty unclear with my previous post, this should be more clear. The change should be (see bolded):

    Namosa's Family

Namosa Bubundu may be found at -220, -190, +25 in Riwwi, in the "pavilion" straight out from Qinimi.

You receive a Scuffed Signet Ring.

Give Pandula the Scuffed Signet Ring.

Pandula Bubundu sobs uncontrollably, tears welling up in her eyes, 'So my little one is still out there. This is wonderful news. I can now die in peace. The Wayfarers have transcribed my final wishes onto this parchment. Please deliver this to Namosa.'

"You can also help some of the slaves. This is how Reyna did it. There are some slaves that are hungry and thirsty, located in the first building to the left of the Qinimi zone line. They require some player-made foods and drinks from native Taelosian products.
•Thirsting Yunjo - Needs Taelosian Tea

•Starved Yunjo - Something with Cragbeast

•Emaciated Yunjo - Something with Crab

•Famished Yunjo - Something with Tuna

•Hungry Yunjo - Something with Hynid

Rumor has it that the higher degree of skill required to make the food or drink, the higher the resulting faction hit.

Each slave will tell you what it wants (sometimes, they want something other than what is specified). Turn 8 of these for faction gain to the appropriate slave, and the slave is sated and won't accept more (you need to wait for them to respawn as hungry/thirsty ones). You can also turn 4, 3 then 4 to get 11 faction hits instead of having the slave despawn after 8 turns-in (oddly, 3 then 4 can result with the slave being sated at times). The respawn time is 30 minutes, and the type of Yunjo that pops is random, either An Enslaved Yunjo, or one of the 5 types listed above.

This is not correct. You can hand in stacks of tea, meat, etc, which I did and verified that the appropriate slave gave me faction hits for each piece I handed in. You get +2 faction for each item you hand in.

Yes, we gave the appropriate NPC 3-4 stacks of 20 and they all counted then turned into an enslaved, so you have to wait about 15-20 minutes for the ones up to change into enslaved or a different one that you can hand into. That part seemed random as to what you got. The tea gives +5 faction hits per one handed in. We gave the correct ones beer battered tuna and crab and those gave +2 faction per one handed in.

I'm currently running through this quest and on all of my turn ins for Yunjo faction I've been giving them stacks of food but they only count up to 8 of them and return the other 12. I've given them grilled meat as well as just plain meat, and it works the same way both times. I assume they must have changed how the stacks are handled when turned in.

I took a leap of faith with the recent return of being able to hand in stacks of items, and handed in 80 Beer-Battered Cragbeast Steaks in a single go. The worker took them all, and I got a faction message for all 80 steaks. Took me to Indifferent in the first turn in.

Faction: High warmly worked for me, faction staff is immense help. Do the brewing quest in Abysmal from Galidnus Corkpopper OR Yitimus Groglenog. Both provide the ability to make usable types of taelosian tea. Purchase or farm Hynid, Cragbeast, crab, tuna, and tea leaves. You can fish in Natimbi for tuna and crab. Carry a mixing bowl, make dried meats, they work just fine and are easy to make. These will be turned into the slaves as they pop. Its easier, less frustrating, and time efficient if you carry the items with and periodically pass through and see what slaves are up, do what turns in you can, then continue about other parts of the quest. They respawn about every 30 minutes. Dont park here expecting to get it done fast, it won't happen. All 3 buildings and the pavillion with Namosa on it have slaves to check on. Took me about 300 turn ins. Remember to turn in 4, 3, 4 = 11 per slave, usually. Many times, the slave would respawn into another usable type allowing for 22, 33, 44 turn ins.

Keys: farm named and search, not hard at all.

Begging. Did 1-70 on random npcs and pet while doing collections and turn ins. Sat at Apprentice Udranda for abou 20 minutes to get to 105, then sat at "a stoneworker", near the Vxed zoneline, for 25 minutes getting to 152. Sat two other toons at stoneworker while doing the battles for Turlini and got from 1 to 100+ without much effort also.

Turlini: Does not despawn after each battle turn in. he despawns after the final turn in when all the yunjo's take off running eventually escaping.

Philaviax is right, the staff is a monstrous boost to Yunjo faction. Took me from apprehensive to kindly. Did about 6 - 8 sets of food/drink turnins (4-3-4) and had plenty of faction to speak to Turlini and the begging Yunjo.

Namosa Bubundu may be found at -220, -190, +25 in Riwwi, in the "pavilion" straight out from Qinimi. You must have at least kindly faction to speak with Namosa successfully.

The faction required to speak with Namosa is in fact WARMLY (one level higher). This is confirmed on 3 toons doing this quest simultaneously. 2 with Tealosian Morphemic Staff for faction and 1 toon without having to grind it out. All 3 toons could not advance in BOC #3 until the faction was WARMLY.

The ground spawn key in Riwwi is driving me absolutely bonkers... If anyone has any additional info beyond this please help.

    # Polished Silvery Key: ground spawn at various places in Riwwi (appears at one place only at a time):

    * 50, -490 underwater (at the northern most water crossroads?)

    * -328, -735 in the fountain (have checked in and around the fountain)

    * -460,-280 in a ruined building between Qinimi and Ferubi (checked everywhere near here)

    * 32, 32, on a crate (westernmost building... checked all the crates in all 3 buildings)

    * 521, -682 behind a pillar (by slaves? checked behind both fire holding pillars by slaves/arena on right side)

    * -210, 0 outside of Qinimi entrance, near two fallen pillars (checked all around this area)

    * behind the pillar in front of the officiator, to the right (this one I dont get, no pillar in front of officiator unless talking about down in the arena... but checked everywhere on his platform and below)

    * -240, -165 in small well on top of platform with the 2 named Nihil (checked entire platform, shrunk, dove in...)

I have checked these locations relentlessly and have had no luck.

I have noticed that killing the mobs in the area, lets the "an enslaved yunjo" repop. While not killing them I have seen the other types needing something pop. Can anyone confirm either way?

I just did this quest and the requirement to both talk to Namosa and get the key from Iniba is definitely still warmly. If you try to talk to Namosa before you attain warmly faction, you get the following message:

"Namosa Bubundu pierces you with an untrusting glare."

    Jagged Silvery Key
    # Aug 20 2008 at 7:22 PM Rating: Decent
In order to get the Jagged Silvery Key to spawn in the canal, you first need to kill all the stonemites. This is the emote you get when they're all dead:

    Quote:
In the bottom of the waterway, the glint of a silvery object catches your eye. It must have fallen into the canal during the chaos of battle.

The key then spawns in the south end of the canal, right next to where the corpse was.

Dried Crab, Hynid, Cragbeast, Tuna all seem to work just the same as other items.

I flew through faction breaks using Dried stuff.

Forage + A mixing bowl helps tons because you can forage Hynid meat and Cragbeast meat, break it down and turn it in without moving.

18 lb hynid meat = 18 turn ins etc

Plus those two are the most common items asked for (that i've noticed).

Took me about 8-10 slaves with 4,3,4 turn ins to get high enough to use Faction staff to warmly.

I came with nothing on me, just bowl and forage. A friend loaned me some tuna, tea, crab, but i only had like 9 teas, 12 crab so not a whole lot. He gave me more tuna but few mobs asked for it.

Some of the required Items and Quest MOB's are misleading above.

The Taelosian Morphemic Staff is not a quest item, does not drop and is not required in anyway. It just happens to help if you have one. Listing it is like listing most any armor and weapons because they help too, LOL.

Also -- Fezbin Fizzles is not even part of BiC 3 at all -- he just happens to be mentioned in some of the lore (NPC spam) -- unless you include getting a new Vaifan's Experimental Sealer from him.

Also -- the Yunjo faction probably should be an seperate quest. While a certain level of faction is required -- it really isn't a step of this quest, per se.

Go through the passageway as if going to the bank, but continue until the passage turns left.
Open the door, turn right and these two will be on the platform to your right.

Took me 10 minutes of searching to find these guys. Wanted to save others that trouble. :-)

I did turn-ins of Barbequed Hynid/Cragbeast/Crab/Tuna Souffle today (10/25/05) to go from dubious to kindly and was able to get the hail text from Namosa. Assuming others have tried at kindly, so you must need to be a good bit into kindly to get her to respond.

I estimate ~200-250 hits turning in the souffles to go from dubious to high kindly

Indeed she can be hailed with kindly, but you need to be some way into kindly before it will work, I'd say about 40-50 items of food turned in. By the time you have done the "give this item to the next person" series of handins to get to talk to Turlini and got the faction from them you will be at warmly in any case.

They are not always up. They share spawn points with "an enslaved yunjo", and are located in three buildings and a central area near the zone to Qinimi. What happens is that a yunjo of some kind spawns, hangs aroun for a while, then despawns, stays away from a while, and then comes back. If it is looking for food or drink and you give it that food or drink, it will despawn and immediately respawn as another yunjo of a random type.

Doing this part of the quest was fairly easy for me, if you want to play it safe take a group or you can just take one healer and kill mobs, or do what i did and turn in the items fast and train zone lol. Anyways, when turning food into yunjo's turn in 4 then 3 then 4 again, that way you get 1 extra turn in each time. I have been told the better food/drink you use the better the faction hit is but don't quote me on that.

Also the yunjo's are on a 30 minuit or so timer, there will be a period of time when some are up and some are down, There timers reset when you turn in food/drink i believe.

Taelosian Morphemic Staff was the /claim reward for the retail (boxed) version of GoD expansion. If you purchased the online download method of delivery for GoD expansion, you will not be able to get this item.

The staff has a rather large faction modifier to nihil and yunjo slave resistance (takes you to amiable from dubious). Saves quite a bit of time on the riwwi factioning portion.

9th Looks like TaskMaster CHick.. is not stunnable. Mezzable(with 70 chanter).. debuffed, slowed(mostly)... reverse damage shield(cleric) heal ds(cleric), paladin tank. cleric chain ching.. chanter nuking with all nukes just chaining.. has 66 berz and shammy..

    So 70 Pally, 70 Chanter 70 Cleric 66 zerk, 69
    shammy

9th chick hit for 1600-1800 it seems.. i had cleric melee buff on and max hit without it seemed around 1600..

    8th Same group

This was so easy.. much easier then 7.

the left side(if facing OUT of coliseum) has one spawn.. right has two.

We killed first one before the other two even pathed.. slowable.. debuffed, stunnable(i had them stunned the entire time with pally stuns).

did this twice in a row for my chatner/cleric and 9th..

    was way easy.

8th fight they hit me never.. so truth is max hit was only 400.. so not sure on these.. but they are cake easy

So far I am having two issues. The first is the officiator.. Irritating.. im not at 26 ph's and counting. I personally assume "an officiator" in the arena looking down, was his ph so i keep killing there and all the mobs. I wondered if anyone could validate this is the right mob.

The second problem is with the Inabi the confused. I have 200 begging skill.. She says all the garbage about how great my manners are etc.. and that oh yeah i wanted something.. and then gives me something "shiny".. However i never get the key itself. it doesn't appear on my cursor, not in my backpacks, not in any empty slot so I am unable to retrieve this key and I have put in a /bug request as the gms told me to.. Anyone else have this problem?

Correct, the mob that looks down into the arena, aneuk model, named 'an officiator', is the placeholer for the named officiator. I spent several nights of several hours each night here. The good news is, he drops 3 keys, so bring friends that want it also.

So, in the middle of a GoD sewer, since I mention I'm trolling the boards, my usual group ('Team Bear') suggests I should post on the arena fights we've done so far since we came here looking for info and found...minimal stuff at best.

So you know, our arena group is made up of: 65 wizard (me), 65 druid, and 65 cleric and beastlord (2-boxed). Later on we had a 65 ranger friend around, but not for the first few fights. All of us have at least 100aa, mine being lowest at 122, cleric's highest at 380. We are below EP level, just barely VT level...the best gear we have is Ssra and pre-EP PoP stuff.

First fight: Frothing Hynid. Not tough, like it says, a single hynid...blue con at 65, and our 65 ranger friend nearly solo'd it melee-style. Nearly because it is unsnareable, unrootable, and regens for about 3% hp per tick so he just duked it out toe to toe unslowed. He is Time-geared, got it to 20% but its regen beat him, really. It did not summon that we could recall, and is partially slowable. Enraged at low health. Hit for 579 on the bst, had about 15k hp.

Second fight: Gibbering Hynid. Also easy, a single hynid, ranger didn't play around trying to solo that one. No snare, no root, partial slow, does not summon, regens 3%/tick, enrages. Hit for 666 max (how evil), had about 15k hp also.

Third fight: Highest Hills Cragbeast and Handler Bvekh. These two come in from different sides of the arena, and this is where you first start to notice... The mobs will path a short distance into the arena and then stand in their spots for about thirty seconds if not proximity aggro'd or pulled. If they are not proxi'd or pulled after that time, they will roam toward one of the sides of the coliseum and path toward the opposite arena entrance. If they reach and go down that tunnel, they will despawn.
With this in mind, it is possible on this fight to leave the handler to hang out on one side of the arena while you kill the cragbeast, which is what we did. Cragbeast is quite large, but not tough. Its max hit was 824 on the bst. No snare or root, partial slow, regens like the others, enrages. Guessing 30-40k hp, but unsure exactly.
Handler Bvekh is an aneuk-model mob, and as such is a spellcaster; it cast or proc'd the usual aneuk spells--Aneuk Grasp which is a snare, and Lull of the Aneuk which is a mezz I think. Does not gate. Hit for 879 max. Also guessing 30-40k hp, again not sure. No snare or root, partial slow, same regen, not sure on enrage.

Fourth fight: Pfaaxle. This is a mastruq-model mob, with normal mastruq proc/spells, such as Mastruq Bellow (not sure what it does, never seemed to impede me). Other than that, unremarkable. Max hit was 836, similar 30-40k hp. No snare or root, partial slow, same regen, enrage, yadda yadda.

Fifth fight: Manipulated Stoneworker. This is a golem-model mob, but is slowable like the rest of the arena that we've seen. Another straightforward fight. Hit for 946 max, expected same 30-40k hp, no snare no root partial slow same regen enrage. Does not cast.

Sixth fight: Misguided Stoneworker, Controlled Earthmover. Both golems. Similar to the third fight, one golem will come from one arena entrance and the other will come from the other side, and they will linger in their spots for a little while unless aggro'd. Both hit for 879 max, with the same general 30-40k hp, no snare no root partial slow 3% regen enrage portfolio as the others.

Seventh fight: This is where the 'easy' bit ends. Up until this point, all the mobs have been dark blue to a level 65 and required no spectacular tactics beside 'kill one fast and then kill the other' to accomplish. For this fight, we added the Time-geared 65 ranger to our 4-person team.

This fight involves the mobs Directed Destroyer, Dominated Bonecrusher, and Pixtt Master Hviqu. The first two are nothing special; both are golem-model mobs that hit for 689 max, with the 30-40k range of hp and the rest of the general info. They are blue cons to a 65.

Pixtt Master Hviqu, however, is an ikaav-model mob--one of the snake-women. She was a yellow-con to a 65, hit for 1451 max, spawned a 30-second-duration ukun pet that hit for 430 and could cast Ukun Chains (a snare). Unlike other ikaavs, she did not seem to use Reflect on herself when at low health, so it was safe to nuke her without worrying that your spell would bounce back on you. The Pixtt casts her pet instantly, usually almost as soon as she is aggro'd. It only lasts for about thirty seconds, and unlike the other critters in these events, can be snared and rooted. She also casts Chaos Guard on herself at the beginning of the fight (50% spell and melee reduction), which soaks a total of 20k damage before it dissipates.

One golem paths out from one entrance, and the Pixtt and the other golem path out from the other. For this fight, our tactic was to have the ranger kite the Pixtt and her golem around on one side of the arena while the beastlord tanked the other one on the other side. After the first golem was down, the beastlord would pull the second golem with slow, tank and kill it. The ranger would get a heal over time and stop kiting when he was full health, and then proceed to tank the Pixtt. This worked fairly well except for the one time that the Pixtt's ukun pet managed to proc the Ukun Chains snare on the ranger as he kited Pixtt, pet and golem, and was therefore swiftly splattered.

Eighth fight: This is as far as we've gotten yet. Again the group of five, with the ranger planning to kite two while the beastlord tanked one.

The mobs are Dvax, Qiz, and Xnoz. All three are white con (level 65) kyv-model mobs, the evil-looking blind archers. Like the previous fight, two path in from one side of the arena and one paths in from the other. In our first attempt (and only so far), we were unlucky in that the two that pathed in together were overlaid on each other so that we couldn't see which side had one and which had two until it was a bit too late.

All three hit for a max of 1347, and proc'd a 660 dd with a dot component. They did not seem to use range attacks, but they moved very quickly and though they did not spellcast, they gave an emote message that seemed to indicate that they were warping around the arena area: 'Dvax vanishes and quickly reappears behind its prey'. We do not know if it actually did warp, or if the others beside Dvax also do this. The message, regardless, is -not- his aggro message, which is 'Dvax withdraws a sharp arrow and approaches their prey'. The beastlord died rather quickly as the kiting plan got scuttled, and we evac'd, so we did not get a lot of information. They were partially slowable. I would guess that like the others, they are unsnare- or rootable, regen the 3% per tick, and enrage. They did not summon. No estimate on hp since we did not get a chance to put a dent in them.

After the evac, we returned to the arena area to find that some of the kyvs were still roaming around in there. It took several minutes for all of them to path their way out of the arena, but if we jumped in and aggro'd them, we were booted to the zone in by the officiator; having evac'd, we were not recognized as having spawned the event and thus not allowed to continue it.

We plan to try the eighth again with an enchanter to see if any of them can be mezzed. Overall: none of them summoned, all could be partially slowed but none fully. None of them so far ran faster than spirit of eagle. The only thing that has been root- or snareable has been the ikaav's 30-second pet. Most if not all of them enrage on low health, but so far perform no other interesting melee-related tricks. They will usually cast/proc their model-related spells (mastruq bellow, ukun chains, etc) but other than that seem to be basically melee mobs. Of course, the kyvs seem to be different and we'll be going back for some revenge. Will be back to post further results.

first time my group also wiped at the 8th fight. 2nd time, we found out rangers are mezzable. anyway, i saved heads from the 1st attempt, and we only killed 1 ranger and looted its head. after that, 8th fight was over, and the two other rangers pathed away.

i dont know if i could pull other two, because i already had their heads. can someone confirm this?

they stay for some time in the arena, and you dont need to kite them. not sure for how long are they there, before they leave arena

You can kill the other two if you have their heads, that's fine....someone else can just loot them. We did that on an earlier arena fight.

That being said, we succeeded in 8th fight yesterday! So I'm going to write up what we learned. Some of this reposted from above.

Eighth fight: Group of six: Beastlord/cleric, druid, wizard, enchanter, monk, all 65.

The mobs are Dvax, Qiz, and Xnoz. All three are white con (level 65) kyv-model mobs. Two path in from the west side of the Arena (Dvax and Xnoz) and Qiz paths in from the east.

All three hit for a max of 1347, and proc'd a 660 dd with a dot component. They do not use range attacks. Dvax shadowsteps himself periodically, and seems to memblur when he does this as well; each shadowstep is heralded by the vanishing and reappearing emote above. They were partially slowable. Like the others, they are unsnare- or rootable, regen the 3% per tick, and enrage. They did not summon. Hp was fairly low; I tallied 20k from myself on one Dvax kill, and I think I did most of the damage there, but not sure.

Some notes from our success: We pulled the golems and the wanderer on the west side before spawning each event. Parked ourselves on the west to wait for the pair of kyvs. If you are not right by their path, they will not aggro you immediately; we used that time for the beastlord to get Xnoz targetted and the chanter to target Dvax. Chanter mezzed at the same time that beastlord cast slow on their respective targets, and as far as I know the spells generally took on the first cast--the chanter didn't get too beaten up, at least.

Killing Xnoz was a fairly straightforward melee deal, though they hit hard. Cleric and druid on healing. We then pulled Qiz from the east side of the arena, keeping Dvax mezzed. Killed him, he was the same as Xnoz. After that, we debuffed Dvax while he was mezzed, chanter mem-blurred him a couple times, then beastlord broke the mezz.

The first fight went fine. The second time we did it, our beastlord and monk both died to Qiz due to some hard hits and double procs. We kept Dvax mezzed while we rezzed them, but when the beastlord went to break the mezz, she was shunted to the zone for interfering. Apparently, you can not combat-rez people for these events. That left me as wizard, the druid, the cleric and the chanter to kill Dvax.

Actually, it turned out to be easier than with the beastlord tanking--which was a lot of panic-patch-healing and scrambling around when he shadowstepped to attack someone else. We opened up with stuns--I was using Telekin, chanter was using whatever chanters use, some AE thing. Mine sunk just fine. Dvax chased the chanter around a bit, ignoring the nukes, and then chased the cleric around a bit, still ignoring the nukes, and then died.

Subsequent Dvax kills went in a similar manner with whoever had the aggro moving to kite him--except when the beastlord had it--the chanter and I stunning when we could, and otherwise everyone piling on the nukes. Chanter reported a lot of resistance to her stuns, but Telekin worked for me every time. In general I pulled it out any time Dvax switched from the 'hard target' of the beastlord to a soft squishy target like a chanter, which gave them time enough to start running or runing or whatever they do.

We're waiting on the chance to kidnap one of our plate tank friends before we try #9.

    Arena Fight #9:

Group of 5: 66 bst, 66 clr, 66 wiz, 66 dru (as in all the fights above, lower planes/VT loot max), plus 66 Shadowknight with 11k hp in some Time gear. Added a 65 monk for the second go.

The mob: Kizki the Slayer. Yellow at level 66, ixt model mob--centaur woman, like Taskmistress Krisz. She pathed out from the east side of the Arena.

During the fight, she hit for 1600's max according to the SK. Like the named ikaav in an earlier fight, she also unleashed a 30-second-duration ukun model pet (very large ukun at that, spell name for the summon is Call of Chaos). She and the pet were both partially slowable. Did not try snaring or rooting either.

Tactic was pretty basic: tank her until she died. Beastlored slowed on incoming. The first time we were not prepared for the pet and also had an add...the beastlord offtanked the pet until it disappeared and then the add.

The named also proc'd an effect called Grasp of Muram, single target 8-counter curse snare. The shadowknight resisted it every time.

She regenned about 1-2% every now and then, and enraged.

Not sure on her hp, I did 25k damage on the last kill of her but I don't parse dmg otherwise.

Now we need the tank and the chanter on and willing to do this at the same time for #10!

    Arena Fight #10:

Took us this long to find the time and people to finish, and by now it's almost trivial with the group. 70 wizard, 70 druid, 70 beastlord, 70 warrior, 70 cleric, 68 enchanter.

There are six mobs in this one: three unmezzable ukuns (Hexxt Lixx, Hexxt Skazm, Hexxt Nheki) and three mezzable aneuks (Pixtt Mik, Pixtt Kirq, and Pixtt Khark).

Pixtt Khark, Hexxt Skazm and Hexxt Nheki come out of the west tunnel, while the other three come out of the east tunnel.

The Pixtts hit for 1200's on our warrior (up to 1400 on the chanter), while the Hexxts hit in the 500's on me as a wizard. They were all stunnable, not sure on levels anymore but my up-to-65 stun Telekin worked on the Pixtts. No snare or root, about 1-2% regeneration as with earlier arena fights.

The Hexxts cast Ukun Chains, which is a snare, and Chaos Claws, which does something (random DD or dot I think). The Pixtts cast Aneuk Grasp, which I think is also a snare.

We set up on the west side of the arena, cleared wanderers and golems, then spawned the event. Warrior engaged one of the two ukuns that came up the west tunnel and the druid and I burned it; beastlord offtanked the second ukun and chanter mezzed the aneuk. We left the critters on the east side to their own devices until we had killed the two ukuns, then pulled the third ukun from east and killed it while the chanter mezzed the other two aneuks. Then we broke mezz and killed the annies one by one.

Repeated this strategy four times without issue. Chanter reports moderate resistances with Bliss (mezz) and normal resistance with slow (forlorn deeds), beastlord also slowing indicates not much resistance with Sha's Revenge. Also notes that lower-than-65 spells seem to be resisted much more often than 65+ spells. Fire and magic nukes landed normally for me as a wizard.

Would estimate 25k hp or so on each, though again I don't parse. All mobs in the event enraged, none ran.

After the turn-in to Turlini, he despawns and most if not all of the yunjo slaves also despawn, so if you plan to do several of the 10th fights (or any other fights), wait to turn in your 10th bag til after you're all done with the arena fights. Not sure on Turlini's respawn time.

hi, i would be the cleric/beastlord boxer as mentioned above.

one quick note on pixt khark. sometimes, while i was offtanking one of the ukuns and the warrior tanking the other, the pixt, before it was mezzed would say something along the lines of "Come to me, my hound of war!" and summon the one ukun from the other side of the arena. Im not sure exactly how to avoid this, as it didnt do it the first time, but did it the three times afterwards.

my theory would be that if the two ukuns are aggroed while the aneuk is not, it summons the ukun. the aneuks path reeeeaaallly slow, and the first time we did it, we waited a very long time, so long the aneuk caught up to the ukuns, so when the ukun was pulled, the aneuk also aggroed. the next three times however, we were a bit more on the ball and pulled before the aneuk had pathed up enough.

so, just know that you might be getting 3 dogs for the price of two, and the fabulous aneuk to go with.

everything partially slowed btw, and often resisted any spells under 65, while 65 and higher spells were almost never resisted. everything enraged as well, but with the casters we had, the mob often went from 10% to zero, without ever enraging.

indeed level 70 has made these events cake, and the reward is very nice.

One nice part about this is that you can take as long as you want between each round. Minutes, days, whatever. Which means you can start it with a few friends and then bring in the hired guns for the last three rounds. I kited the first two rounds solo. A couple of friends helped with the next four. Bard mezz will get you through those. A couple more people showed up and we did round seven three times for all of us. For the last three we had a warrior, cleric, ranger, bard, beast and chanter. VT equiped level. If you work well together it's quite easy.

BTW, none of the mobs in the event can be snared or rooted. They don't aggro right away when they come out of the tunnels so you can take your time getting set up. But if you're not careful they may path back out of the arena without aggro'ing and then you lose.

I was ALLY to the slave resistance and had gotten the Turlini's Key flag.
I was not able to start the arena fight. The slaves just "eyed me suspiciously".

What was missing was the Namosa's Family flag. You have to do this simple fedex quest.

    Namosa : Riwwi, -220, -190
    Pandula : Abysmal, 0, -150, top deck
    Councilman Tentric : Quinimi, +280, -1000

After adding the Namosa flag, the arena slaves acknowledged me as their herochampiondrinkingbuddy and let me start the event.

As for the fights: War + Shm + Clr (all played by me, though) easily got the 6th wave killed but I failed the 7th. 3 unrootable mobs are too hard to control so ya will probably need an enchanter for waves 7+. The last wave has 3 somewhat resisting aneuks which a bard would have a hard time mesing.
    (or kiting, since they snare)
