Approach Priestess Tarafol in the mutant caves of Echo Caverns.

You say, 'Hail, Priestess Tarafol'

Priestess Tarafol says 'Oh, these poor forsaken souls. We must do whatever we can to help them. So far I've been unable to find anything that can cure their afflictions. I'm not even certain there is a cure. The least I've been able to do is ease some of their suffering.'

You say, 'What cure?'

Priestess Tarafol says 'I'm not certain what causes the disease that inflicts most of these people. I believe it's from living down in these caverns for so long. It seems most people have a natural immunity, but the few who are stricken are cursed to slowly rot to death. A most horrible and painful way to die. I wish I could do more than just ease their pain.'

You say, 'I want to help you'

Priestess Tarafol says 'You would be willing to do that? That would be great! I've heard of the possible curative powers of many things here on Luclin. I've been so busy here that I haven't been able to go out and search for any of the needed compounds. If you would be so kind as to collect some things for me I would be very appreciative.'

You say, 'Collect what things?'

Priestess Tarafol says 'Ok, I need you to find these things... Underbulk Bile, Razorfungus Spores and Saprophyte Spores. You should be able to be find them within the nearby cavern systems. Please return to me once you have acquired all the ingredients. Thank you very much for assisting. Good luck.'

Underbulk Bile is found on Underbulks, and on Crinthia in Echo.
Razorfungus Spores are found on Fungal Fiends.
Saprophyte Spores are found on The Great Saprophyte.

(Beware: Razorfiend Spores and Underbulk Bile are food and drink.)

Priestess Tarafol says 'Thank you so much!! These will help so much in trying to find a cure for these people. Here take this as a token of my gratitude.'

You receive Tarafol's Pendant: 15 svdisease, 5 svpoison, Effect: Cure Disease

Quest works fine (completed it this morning) as described here.

Go to the "hard" side of echo caverns to get the razorfiend spores and bile.

The neck is clicky from the new hotbars, so despite being a low level cure, it has use being spammable cast (though 6s is somewhat long).
Crinthia

Her name is Crinthia Signseer, not Crinthia Sign.

Did the turn in today with my iksar shaman using a wood elf illusion potion. She will take the components at dubious, though she won't give the quest. Just hand them in.

As a sidenote, it must be equiped to use.

I dont like this quest. The spores and the bile are food which you will eat regardless of where you put it in inventory. PLUS bile just doesnt hang around I dropped it in the bank and it still vanished. It doesnt say NO RENT but basically it is.

The item is mediocre at best. Waste of time waiting for the Saprophyte to spawn.

My suggestion is go do something else.

For you it's a waste.

For me it's the level 39 spell 'Remove Curse' if it drops.

Completed this today. The item now has a slot and is equipable. I believe it can be MQ'd because she thanked me and asked if I had luck finding the other items twice then spoke the line about taking the token.

Priests of Life
Knights of Thunder
Guards of Qeynos
Antonius Bayle

And that would explain why she doesn't like you much.

Bile and the spores are both droppable, but not the spores, you have to do the 3 hours Great saporphyte camp for it. It seems to be a common drop however.
MQable?

The bile can sometimes be found by looting the corpse of a nearby mutant named Crinthia. She will either drop the bile or a decent newb WIS ring.

I have found, on several occasions, the fungus spores as ground spawn just outside the mutant cave. This may have been the result of a passing player who dropped it on the ground, but I can recall at least 3 times that I found them on the ground.

The third item, the saprophite spores have only dropped off of the Great Saprophyte for me. This big shroom is on a 180 minute spawn cycle and is not easily soloable. The smallest group that I used to kill it was me (level 52 pally) and a 55 monk. The monk completely owned that big shroom, and contrary to what I've read before, you CAN interrupt its casting (thats what I did). When it doesn't cast, it dies very quickly. Seven kills and no spell dropped yet (/rude Verant).

Unfortunately, I killed the preistess one too many times and my faction is completely screwed. This will really hurt when I attempt my epic, as did my ONE raid into PoG a few months back.

The only reward is the pendant. There is no faction, experience, coins, or other loot.

The underbulk bile is NO RENT. Underbulk biles are a drink and razor fungus spores are food, so put them both last in your inventory. The saprophyte spores are NO DROP and the toughest to get.
ACK!

Being KOS, I could never even talk to any of these people in the mutant caves. I always wondered why Tarafol would sometimes drop Underbulk Bile. Mystery solved I guess. Although my theory about her being a changeling spy for the Legion of Downtrodden Underbulks is blown to hell now. I liked my story better.
