Thanks for the wonderful bit of spam there Sylveria. Now if you dont mind take that crap somewhere else! This isn't the place to advertise your wares. You do that in the game or on the for sale section. I too am a tailor, smith, brewer, baker, and almost every other skill you can think of minus jewelery. And while I understand the pain of hunting down spider silk I also know where advertisements are appropriate and where not! Try going to your server's webpage sometime and do that.

These pieces are are only slightly better than Cured Silk. The slippers have a 1AC and 2Agi edge on Cured Silk, which typically goes for 3pp per AC.

This person wants to charge 50pp per AC? (And don't whine that it has Agi too, you can get 9 Agi, with 3 Dex, from a Serp Bracer for 40pp) The only people who can afford your prices are twinks. By the time a non-twink can save up the money needed to buy every piece, he/she can go to Dalnir and get Crescent Armor.

An economy is based on supply and demand. It has nothing to with freedom and responsibility (or idealism?). If there is no demand, prices will drop. Simple as that. You are asking people not to undercut you? And you call yourself a tradesperson? I have fun haggling and trying to get a good price. It's what being a merchant/buyer is all about.

(And yes, I am a scientist AND a tailor) =)

There aren't ANY low end monk slippers really. After Cured Silk, the next step up is Planes and ?Iksar Hide Boots *10k on my server*. This should be in high demand for those in between level 5 and 50 =0

There are more alternatives as magical footgear for monks now. In particular, there's now the fairly easily available Pit Fighter Ankle Wraps from the Warrens, from a 15-ish Kobold Pit Fighter. Not very good stats, but magical nonetheless. Then comes the old standard, Wolf Fur slippers (300 PP or so). And, once you hit 30 or so, it becomes possible to try for Crescent armor from Dalnir.

Level to attain
# May 25 2001 at 3:38 AM Rating: Default
As with most tradeskill items, this item should have a proper level to attain.

The recipy includes a level 12 enchanter spell.

I assume that since this item can be bought then a level 1 could attain it via gift or what have you. What would be a better use of the level to attain area for trade skill pieces would perhaps be the trivial level of the items, but that would take a lot of reworking of the database, and would mess up the search feature seeing as how you can limit it to your characters current level.

I agree with your second point completely.

I disagree on the first remark, as your definition of level to attain would make every selleble item in the game have it at 1. That would ***** up the search engine also.

Some trade items can be made at every level. This item has a minimum level that we can pinpoint to the casting of the thicken mana spell.

Well, the "Thicken Mana" spell is a level 12 enchanter spell, but to say you have to be level 12 to acquire this is making the not necessarily true assuption that the enchanter is the one tailoring it. I myself am I monk who buys the pearls (or sometimes luck onto goblins that drop them) and the poison vials, then I find an enchater to make the viscous mana. I offer 5pp per vial, and most who can do it find that resonable. Keep in mind that it takes one full bar of mana to make 3 vials.

But to the point, theoretically any tradeskill can be mastered at level 1 (although the money it would take has to come from somewhere, so this isn't likely) and any required cross skills (in this case brewing and thickening mana) can always be preformed by other players. Don't see what the fact that "Thicken Mana" being a level 12 spell has to do with when you can acquire this, any more than the level of brewing required for heady kiola does.

It's nice to see that a)There is finally some tailoring that will get people closer to closing the gap between 131 and Velious Tailoring that isn't cultural based. Wu's tops out at 158 (Chest). Also, these boots are probably the most useful piece. I am a lvl 42 monk, and the only piece of cured silk I'm still wearing is my boots, simply because Monk footwear options are pretty limited.
