If you purchased the boxed set of Prophecy of Ro, you have an Ornate Barding available if you type "/claim #," where # is the particular number corresponding to the Prophecy of Ro reward claimable on your account. This summons a very slow (but free!) horse. If you would like to upgrade it to the speed of your other horse, find Stable Ward Kyle in The Bazaar and do the following:
You say, 'Hail, Stable Ward Kyle' Stable Ward Kyle says '______! It's good to see you. You've caught me in a bit of a [bind].' You say, 'What bind?' Stable Ward Kyle says 'It's this blasted Automated Barding Oscillator! The dang thing just came in from Ak`Anon. It's designed to take the barding on and off of horses in only a few seconds. It works really well. In fact, too well. It's going to drive us Stable Wards out of a job. Isn't that a [shame] ______?' You say, 'It's a shame.' Stable Ward Kyle says 'You said it, my friend! It's a crying shame! In fact, I'm going to cry my eyes out for the next thirty seconds. The only thing that would make this even more of a shame is if, by chance, SOMEONE were to STEAL the Automated Barding Oscillator FROM THE SECOND STALL ON THE LEFT while I'm busy crying. If that were to happen, I would downright inconsolable. Do you [understand] the severity of the situation?' You say, 'I understand.' Stable Ward Kyle says 'Alright, ______. Then please excuse me whilst I begin my weeping. I tend to sob rather loudly. . .loudly enough to drown out the echoing steps of a prowling footpad, you know, should one be in the area. Please, pay me no mind.' You have been assigned the task 'The Automated Barding Oscillator'. Take the Automated Barding Oscillator (0/1) - The Bazaar Stable Ward Kyle starts sobbing loudly. Go to the second stall on the left, where there is a no-name chest. /open the chest and loot the Automated Barding Oscillator. --You have looted a Automated Barding Oscillator.-- Your task 'The Automated Barding Oscillator' has been updated. --You have looted a Automated Barding Oscillator Users Manual.-- Leave the stables. The task will update as you pass Stable Hand Kyle. Your task 'The Automated Barding Oscillator' has been updated. Stable Ward Kyle winks at you on your way out the door. Place your current bridle and the Ornate Barding in the Automated Barding Oscillator and combine to create a new XXX Bridle and Barding that is a warhorse version of your normal XXX Bridle. If you combine the XXX Bridle and Barding in the oscillator again, you'll get the individual bridle and barding back. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

*edit* Nevermind, I read here http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=47305 that it does indeed place the armor on the bridled horse. So it will be the same horse that you bought just with the armor of the claimed barding. Pretty neat! =)

/Claim Item - If you have received the Prophecy of Ro /claim item from the retail box, Stable Ward Kyle in the Bazaar may be able to help you use it to upgrade your old horse to a warhorse. Paladins or Shadowknights who have the Holy or Unholy Steed AAs and the /claim item can upgrade their special mounts to a warhorse by visiting Stable Ward Rames as well.

You say, "Yes, I have barding."
Stable Ward Rames says "I'd be happy to put that barding on for you. From then on, you can choose to summon a Holy Warhorse instead of your Holy Steed. Would you like me to [apply] the barding?
You say, "Yes, apply the barding!"
You have gained the ability "Holy Warhorse" at a cost of 0 ability points.
Stable Ward Rames says "Right, there you go! That sure is a beautiful horse."
You say, "Thanks! His name is Fury!"
