What I don't get is why anyone would bother with this since the Cloak of the Spirit Hunter is so easy to get. Even at it's first level the CotSH is better than this for AC (taking into account AC > HP) and not far off in Mana. Not to mention effects.
That's what makes me shake my head at SOE.
Anyways, not to burst anyones quest bubble, but go do the Spirit Hunter quest instead if you are a caster.

How about because the quest for this is WAY easier?
All the mana in the world means nothing if you don't have the HP to keep you alive to use it...

I love WoW but there just is not much content to continue playing... And Battleground grinding is NOT fun when there are no raids to be attending... and Farming for gold can be amazingly lame. The more mana than hps on melee items and more hps than mana on caster items seems to be a common trend in PoR loot, at least at the lower end of the expansion. I've also noticed that most of these items are very low on AC.

This cloak should have been more attuned towards having more mana than HP's. SOE is really strange sometimes.
Thats funny that this cloak that seems to be meant for casters has more HP then mana and Epaulettes of the Lost Mage which seems for tank classes has more MANA then hp
Would not call a 5hp difference one to really be overly concerned about. There was lots of other gear for melee that had no mana but decent hp, if anything this makes up for it a bit.
Besides the AC's really are not that great so this is not THE substitute for raid gear
