Jolum stands on a table on the southern balcony of the central building between the two banks.

You say, 'Hail, Jolum'

Jolum says 'Hail! Nice to see ya, friend. I've got a fine selection of spankin' good spells, perhaps you'd be interested? Or maybe you'd like to learn how to [upgrade] your Grandmaster Trade items? Still yet, maybe you would like to know how to create a [Grandmaster's Medicine Bag]?'

You say, 'How can I upgrade?'

Jolum says 'What Grandmaster Trade item would you like to know how to upgrade? I can tell you how to upgrade your [Grandmaster Baker's Spoon], [Grandmaster Brewer's Corker], [Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife], [Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass], [Grandmaster Potter's Sculpter], [Grandmaster Smith's Hammer], [Grandmaster Tailor's Needle], or your [Grandmaster Tinker's Spanner]. While you can't have more than one of the new items, they will summon a [bag] for you. Very useful for carrying heavy items about and such.'

You say, 'What bag?'

Jolum says 'Its a very sturdy bag, but I'm afraid that it's only temporary. If you'd like to get a more permanent bag, just hand me your summoned one and I'll trade it out you.'

Hand in a TEMPORARY Grandmaster's Satchel, summoned by a tradeskill grandmaster's trophy (one of the upgraded/newer ones that summon bags) to receive an Artisan Essence. Combine this by itself in the appropriate tradeskill container to get two corresponding containers, one a normal bag (XXX Carry-All) and one a bag for tradeskill components (XXX Component Bag). You can get one set of each per tradeskill.

On progression servers, when you hand in the TEMPORARY Grandmaster's Satchel summoned by your tradeskill trophy, you will receive a Grandmaster's Carry-All bag.

This quest will no longer result in a Grandmaster's Carry-All. Jolum will give you back an "Artisan Essence". The Artisan Essence can then be put into an appropriate tradeskill container and will yield a tradeskill-labeled Carry-All container. E.g. putting the Artisian Edssence into a forge does yield "Adamantine Carry-All" (weight: 1.0, Weight red: 100, Capacity: 12, Size Cap: GIANT). This means you can get a Carry-All for each of your tradeskills!

I just tried to do this quest again last night, in the hopes that I would be able to get multiple tradeskill bags from my multiple tradeskill trophies. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Artisan Essence as stated above, I simply got a Grandmaster's Carry All to replace the one I had deleted.

The nice thing about this quest, is if you ever get a quest container, you can destroy this, and then redo the quest to get another.

I was doing my VT key, for fun, and realized i had 8 bags on me. destroyed this and had room for the quest scepter frame.

I made this at lvl 16 after getting Grandmaster Eyeglass on first try at JC 206. It's definitely luck involved.
#DenakSplitblade, Posted: May 27 2004 at 3:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Two things i noticed wrong about this right off the bat. major one: What idiot would make a BAG (hence, a container in the form of a sack or pouch, usually made from a flexible material such as paper or leather)a lore item? That means you can only have ONE. Second, why is the lvl rating for the quest 1-65? First off,one of the items is made from tinkering, and tinkering aint available till 16. and, most important, it's impossble to make the satchel until mid 30s, because of skill cap restrictions.

You'd honestly complain about a Lore Item that is 100% WT Reduction? I suppose you think that all Iksars should have +15 hp regeneration and +100 AC armor bonus too and that all classes can cast all spells at any given time during creation. Well guess what this game is called EVERQUEST not

(tm), you want non-lore items and non-uniqueness go role play into a generic world with generic items and make generic friends. If you can't quest then don't play.

Nothing tinkered needed, to make most trophies. Also, no level limit to skill, for most tradeskills.

You could take a level 1, GM them in any tradeskill except tinkering or poisonmaking, and make the trophy. right click the trophy to make ythe bag, and then turn in for the final one.

Plus lots of bags are lore. Rallic pack, bag of sewn evil eye, shralok pack, etc...

If you want non-lore 100% weight reducing bags, buy tink bags, or leatherfoot haversacks.

To get it, you have to become a GM of a tradeskill and then you have to make the trophy, and summon the bag with the clicky, then turn it in.

The summoned bags were not flagged No Drop on Firiona Vie and everyone and their mother could get the Carry-All as a result. GMs have since permakilled Jolum so you can't do this anymore.

That's a good thing for us hard-working halfling tailors on Firiona Vie. The market on Leatherfoot Bags was going down the toilet fast. Just so those of you who don't play on FV know what we are talking about, its the RP preferred server, where almost everything but epic items are NOT NO DROP, meaning that yesterday we had some GM tradeskillers with the trophies passing these summoned bags out by the hundreds for free. Yes, free. Anyone who was in the bazaar for about 12 hours straight got a free 100% WR bag (Almost everyone on the server, really). Today Jolum is not on the balcony...and everyone is wondering why...heh.

It is a great reward to have, even if Im not a grandmaster yet.

I am confused here - It says this happens by turining in a summoned object from a Tradeskil Trophy - What is that?

Everything you ever wanted to know about tradeskill trophies:

So this isn't a quest so much as a labor of love, getting (insert skill of your choice here) up into the 240's to have a chance at success. The expense of skill-ups and materials involved make this prohibitive to anyone without steady income.

Good luck to all hopefuls, though, I've got my eye set on a tailoring trophy.

Just checked out the Grandmaster's Satchel, and it listed as No Rent, No Drop. Was wondering if this has changed via a patch? Other wise I dont see how they could be left laying around. If they are now droppable, that would be sweet, might just those gnomes outta business.

They are not droppable. But they are tradeable to an NPC. You summon one by right-clicking your trophy, then give it to Jollum who rewards you with a permanent, albeit slightly heavier, WR bag.
#thRover, Posted: Aug 22 2002 at 7:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Got one for free last night. Satchels left laying around, don't have to be grand master to just give them to Jollum. Best item I've ever had for such little effort. Too bad they're Lore Items.

Guess I should have mentioned this was on the FV server, before they were made No Drop. Wasn't playing on any other server at the time and didn't realize they were No Drop for everyone else. Too bad for all of you on the blue servers, you missed out big time.

What I'd really like to see, though, is the bag summoned by the fletching GM trophy to come out full of arrows...
