Dropped today from Whiteflame in Vald pits. Labeled as Quest Item as well.
Lava Rock sells for 0 plat 1 gold 9 silver 0 copper to bazaar vendor Sateal Deirosap when offered by level 2 human monk with 143 cha.... Current price in the bazaar is not available....

I would say twilight sea would be the best place to get the lava rocks. It is a somewhat rare drop but the best I have found.

I sent 4 hours camping all the elementals in Najena and got one drop off of a fire ele in the entire time there...Disappointing. I then went to Twilight sea, and located six on a vendor in the quest npc inn. I then killed five fire eles on the island and got two more lava rocks immediately...less than fifteen minutes and had 8 rocks!!! I think I like this place. 8)

Lava rock is used in making earthen temper, for dwarven racial armor. It drops from fire elementals in Najeena, occasionally from fire giants in Sol B, fairly common off the wyverns in Skyfire Mountains (like 1 in 20 common) that I know of (have personally looted in these places). I don't believe they drop in Lavastorm, at least in my experience I have never seen them drop there. I haven't hunted in Scarlet Desert but they also apparently drop there from the post above.

Been told but have not found them yet.. drop in Twilight Sea up in Luclin (drop off of fire elementals??) and also in Lavastorm Mountains (been told off of fire goblins, killed 20 or so scouts/wizards and didn't get one).

Confirm that fire elementals in twilight sea drop Lava Rocks. Same for fire elementals in Najena. I suppose they would drop from any non-pet fire elemental but no way to confirm that. They are a rare drop in both cases. Easier to hunt Najena, but there are many more spawns in Twilight.
