DON'T GO TO ANY HUTS
# Jun 19 2001 at 8:43 PM Rating: Default
I got a quest to get to highpass and delive mail And I went through here at night. I saw a hut and decided to leave to right wall to sell some things. Well when I came out it was so dark and foggy I couldn't find the wall or a path. I travled blindly right into an undead clearic and it struck me for around 400 points. 1 hit KO I was dead. Luckly I had locate corpse spell and found my corpse not too far from the entrance to WC.

The moral to this story is get SOW, INVIS VR UNDEAD, TRAVLE IIN DAY, STAY BY WALL OR PATH, AND STAY AWAY FROM UNDEAD CLERICS AND HUTS!!!!!!

im a lvl 22 chanter and traveled many times for this zone during the daylight. And no-problem, only follow the path. But i ask: can a chanter travel trough kithicor at night? i mean using ilusion:DE and invis VS undead. Or maybe ilusion:skel and normal invis...

No. The undead that roam Kithacor Forest at night are KOS to every race, every class, everytime. If they con blue+, they'll agro on you. If they are green, they'll jump you while medding/sitting. Don't think invis versus undead is going to help much, about 3/4 of the mobs at night are either Clerics or Shadowknights, there's not quite as many melee classes wandering around.

Best way to travel kith at night is the same way to get through nasty zones all over. Sow+invis/camo+lev and hug the highest zone wall you can find, then walk off in the direction you need to go, hugging walls if possible, and staying up as high as possible on that zone wall. Still, even at level 34, if I ran right into the middle of 3 or 4 spawns, and they were all SK's, i'd be dead before I knew what hit me.

ive tried travelling Kith at night. The sticking to the walls trick doesnt work well here. I have seen some of the mobs parked right up on the wall. luckily i saw them before they saw me, so i high tailed it back to Highpass with out them aggroing. best way to travel Kith at at night, is DON'T!

Invis vs. Undead is better than you think. I have ran past many undead clerics and shadowknights and been ignored. The undead will see you if you are merely invisible. If using invis vs. undead, you have an excellent chance of making it across the zone.

Still, it is best to either run on the walls, or run during the day. Reason for this are the dreadwolves who love to prowl arround at night. You could be running past an undead knight with pet, you just passed it, and boom, a dreadwolf nails you. Naturally this drops your invis vs. undead protection. Guess what -- the knight and pet are going to nail you too. It happened to me exactly that way. (lucky I was by Rivervale when that happened, so I survived THAT scare.)

If you are travelling from WC, then stick to the right wall, you will pass Rivervale and HH ents. And dont travel until 8am. Or else you will be zombified :)

HOLY $&#*($&(!!!! This was my first time in this zone. I recommend sticking to the north wall. I foolishly went straight through the center and got cought by a MASSIVE group of zombies and other undead during the DAY!!! It took me (lvl 8 mage) and a level 30 mage two hours to drag my corpse outta there, cause they can see invisible. good luck to any foolish soles that venture too far south!!

PoH and POS (sky, often called air), you need to buy stones, the old world hate stones are sold in Neraik, if your not a dark elf, make an alt to buy it. They are one shot for 150pp, and they are consumedin the casting of the spell, so it's a pricy trip.

The Air (sky) stones are bought in Erudin i belive(do not quote me on that one). I know however that you CAN buy them in POK. I am not sure about the Hate stones there, but i bet they are for sale too.

Dark Elf hut
# Apr 16 2001 at 1:07 PM Rating: Default
There are Dark Elf in some hut. They are aggressive and powerful.
I run pass the forest with sow at day thinking that all the undead have gone.
But when I pass by a hut there run a dark elf and killed me within a second.
When I get back there for my corpse it become a undead camp and my corpse
is under a ghoul's foot. I try to drag my corpse but the dark elf killed me again.
The other time I go there the undead have gone but the dark elf are still there.
So I get invisibility and drag my corpse. Luckily I success.

So the conclusion is: Don't get in this zone at night, and always keep high at the
northern wall and stay away from any hut.

That elf was probably a triggered dark-elf spawn that appears when some quest item is handed in (which one escapes me now). He wanders around and attacks on sight...not sure if it's any race/class but he got me dead in a lil less than 7 seconds a while back. Tier'Dal Reaver or something like that I think his name was but he doesn't stay in one particular hut, from what I've been told. He got me in the hut to the far east side of the Forest but wasn't in there when i entered so he must have come in from outside when he wandered into range.

Look out for him...he's NASTY-tough!

Cleric Boot Quest
# Dec 24 2000 at 9:26 AM Rating: Default
For those clerics out there who do the quest, here is some pointers.

1) I did this quest at level 30. It can be done lower but I chose to wait til this level because of the level spawns at night. The ignot spawns at neg 70, pos 3275 on a log. You can either levitate up there, use SOW and jump from fallen log nearby, or climb up the log my jumping repeatedly. Last is really hard and requires luck.

2) The book of Turgan spawns in a burned hut at loc pos 1700, pos 1100. Both book and Ignot spawn on four hour cycles...it has been confirmed by yours truely. BE WARY OF GETTING THE BOOK AT NIGHT. I have spotted at least five or six high level spawns camping the hut. These include an ENRAGED DREAD WOLF, who will waste you faster than you can say your name. When I gated back in from WC, I was grouped with a druid and saw one in the distance...I warned the druid to stay put where she was til it disappeared.

3) A good idea for getting these spawned items is to bind yourself at the previous locs and leave the zone come night, then gate back at 8AM game time, although be warned, the druid was still picking up high level undead on her track at 10AM....guess they didn't despawn yet.

4) Once you get the items you need for this quest, get the hell out of there...it is very dangerous at night. I do not recommend camping the items at night, as it is very hazardous to your health. If you do decide to do so, hope that you have an inviz vs undead, or just watch your back.

Good questing fellow clerics!

FORGET DAYTIME SAFETY
# Sep 26 2000 at 10:32 AM Rating: Default
Yes you heard me. The safe days are OVER. I was going through Kithicor woods seeking out the Ranger guild. It was 4pm and I had wandered to a house just south of the main road. MULTIPLE high level undead came sprinting out and melted me. I though he it a merchant hut until I caught a glimpse of a Failed Experiment. I started running but the hits started raining down. I died in seconds not getting very far. Multiple 100+ point melee blows, a 200 point Fire based DD, and I never suvived the DOT to see how bad it chewed up the HP's. I was 20th and got creamed.

The hard part? I had to come back and get my corpse. From 8am to 5pm there was a Zombie Commander's Pet roaming the West end of the zone by Rivervale. I kept trying to angle around him. I returned to the hut to find 2 ghoul sentries and a blue skelly. Inside were 3 special undead. An Undead Cleric, the Failed Experiment and another. This was at 2pm!! These are new undead and aren't disappearing during the day.

My body was right outside and I crept up to the UN-Safe house slowly. Sneak, Camo, and Invis to undead wouldn't help. I just steeled my nerves and kept inching forward trying to summon my corpse. I darted forward, pulled the body, and ran away as fast as I could back to Rivervale with SOW. POWER-DRAGGING my stuff behind me. Two minutes later, I was safe at the zone.

The house is located at loc +830, +2300. It used to be an empty hut. Avoid it unless you have a LOT of Firepower and a great Cleric. Tunare be with you!

Uhm, yes, that hut is one of the ruined huts in the northern part of the forest, I found it almost by accident last evening searching for Ged Twigborn. I didn't get close enough to get them to chase me but I think I will not be staying north of the road much unless I'm headed to the ranger station.

Oh, and the failed experiment pets conned high yellow to me at 24th level.

This place is run over by Dark elfs. I was on the cleric quest here when I seen a house covered in undead. The undead were blue to me (13), but the dark elfs inside were very red, and casted some high level spells (they looked high anywhy). This was during the day time, but I dont think that make a difference. I still going during the day thou, I see better than. If you see if far before it gets to you, you dont need to run look a mad meth using banshee

A few points of interest
# Sep 12 2000 at 7:21 PM Rating: Decent
I've hunted there as a low through mid 30 level druid somewhat extensively. I thought it might be helpful for people to know that the undead BEGIN to pop at 8:00pm and FINISH depopping at 8:00am (tracking was useful in finding this out). Also, for spell purposes, the dread wolf types are not considered animals.
If you decide to hunt there, be especially careful of enraged dread wolves. I've seen them take down post level 50 players in seconds.
about the enraged dread wolves
# May 15 2001 at 3:39 AM Rating: Default
the enraged dread wolves are mean, i will give you that, they are near 100% magic resistant. but the part where they take down level 50+ in seconds isn't real.

a 40 druid a 40 warrior and myself, at the time a 49 cleric were hunting the enraged dreadwolves in kith,as well as the undead cleric-types for their drops.

we killed the enraged dreadwolves, with little problem, other than the fact it took 5 minutes. the only damage we could do was melee. none of the DoTs or nukes we were using touched the enraged dreadwolf.

yep i know as a FACT THE DREAD WOLVES ROCKED ME
RE: A few points of interest
# May 02 2001 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
I'm also told the Dread Wolves aren't undead (I guess they're monsterous wolves, and so neither animals nor undead. Maybe demonic?)

So invis vs. undead will work against most of the mobs here, but definitely not all.

One good precaution in this zone is to keep yourself in walk mode. If you are feared you will move at a much slower pace and the AI in the game will not turn it off. This can save your life and the life of your party. And if you decide to flee an encounter it is only one click to turn walking off.

Some people take this to the extreme and root themselves!

According to the lore of the game, Kithicor Forest was originally the battleground between the son of Innorukk and a powerful follower of Tunare. The result of this battle left a zone deadly at night, and fairly safe during the day.

Though there are the dangers of the time changes, traveling through Kith can be accomplished if the player takes a few precautions. First, unless you are prepared to fight groups of high lvl undead, always travel through the forest from 6am (7 would probably be better) until 4 or 5pm. The zone will probably be safe at 7pm, but if you leave W commons, or High Hold Pass at this time, you won't make it through the zone before nightfall. To check the game time of Norrath, you can type in the, /time command. Also always travel high along the wall, even at night, this can help avoid aggroing local mobs that could rip you apart. Follow the right wall from the W commons zone and it will take you first to Rivervale, then to High Hold. Following the right or left wall from Rivervale will lead you to High Hold and W commons respectively. And then of course, following the left wall from High Hold will take you to Rivervale, then W commmons.
At night, various lvl 35+ undead come out. These include both casters and melee fighters, so do not thing that you can just run away and be safe. Also, many travelers have been killed even while using Invis vs. Undead, so travel at your discretion.
During the day, Kith becomes as safe as a normal forest. Low lvl bixies, wolves, and other forest creatures roam the zone. A few daytime dangers to watch for, are the Shralock Orcs, to the left side of the HHP entrance, and a mid lvl bear that camps near a cabin.
Kithicor does have a number of drops, quests, and quest items that have good return, however always watch your time, or the danger will quickly surpass your gains in this zone.

This zone is a newbie zone for Halflings during the daytime, with normal monsters ranging from level 1 to level 10, and a few camps and wanderers like any newbie zone. However, at night all the newbie monsters go away and are replaced by level 30+ undead that can see ITU and have large aggro radii. It should be avoided unless one is seriously in a hurry or actually wants to hunt these monsters. They sometimes drop nice 1hb weapons for clerics, so a 29+ cleric could probably have fun here.
RE: Day/Night
# Aug 23 2000 at 12:22 PM Rating: Decent
I only recommend that 29+ cleric having there, if he/she is in a group. Those undead spawn close together, some have pets, and some can cast a high level fear (that even with high resistance one can easily get feared). I nice group can can pull to the Rivervale or W.Commons zone, but be real careful. I've been with 2 groups of 33-40 that got slaughtered thanks to 2 commanders and a healer fearing us and healing the commanders. It's a good place for EXP, but I recommend treading lightly.

a level 29 cleric will get eaten alive by the undead-cleric-types. at 47 i had to zone my cleric in a one on one fight with an undead cleric. he kept healing himself, and my stuff was being resisted too much. just happens sometimes. and at 44, clerics get the 585 damage undead nuke, and i still had to zone out. please don't try and solo the undead clerics at 29 =)
