you can equip the epic at 46, that is the level of the spell to summon it. click the epic to summon pet at level 50. destroy the epic because it has one charge then summon another one.
I was looking forward to having the most powerful epic 1.0 pet possible, by using the effect of Minion of Eternity found on "The Sweeper", but apparently I already had the best epic pet.
How hard will it be to complete? I have pretty much everything except the last steps of the quest. I remember getting the staff of elemental mastery out of kedge keep, I remember going on tons of raids to plane of hate trying to get the staff of elemental mastery earth but was unsucessful.
Is it worth trying to complete without a guild?
the pet is nice tho :p

The weap in the background i am carrying is the Epic.
The Epic Pet is like an Air pet ... xcept vs POP pets it will be evenly matched and anything pre POP it will kill!
Gotta love it, actually. Summon the orb, use its effect to summon a pet, and destroy it. Summon another orb. When the pet's about to die, really easy to just clickie your orb and replace him :) If you have the AA for Suspend Minion and Suspend one before hand, you have one pet and two pets just waiting, manaless!

i keep burnout on my pets, as well as kindle (if you're a mage and you don't, shame on you). i've recently aquired Earthen Strength (lvl 55 Aura. very nice 5% str to pet)... the Epic Pet (mine, anyway) quads 84 damage regularly, often times back to back (to back to back to back...).
i've got Servant of Marr, but i've never really liked the water pet line. i've yet to get the 63 fire pet, but it's next in line and will, too, be compared. i'll update. same with the 65 earth pet.
so, for anyone wondering (i'm replying to an old message, i know. but people still have questions. i did...), the Epic pet, from my experience, is about twice as good as the Ward of Xegony. honestly, get the Orb of Mastery and sell any Ward of Xegony spell you might get. about 5pp sounds right for a worthless summon, eh?
Hits for 81 damage, bashes for 40-ish, regularly procs a DD that does 143 damage, casts a three-second stun every twelve seconds that does about 100 damage, and casts a 50 point damage shield on itself. Tanking greens, that maxes out around 300dps, but drops off on mobs that still give XP, and drops off quite a bit if it's not tanking and getting the damage shield damage... either way, it's still a nice damage output on mobs below 60.
Pretty much obsolete with the OoW pets, but prior to that he's very good to have in zones where mobs are below level 60 (and uber if you get him while you're still in the 50s: 'Where'd the add go?' 'Oh, Fluffy soloed him while we were killing the other mob' :))

It's too bad, I mean, epics are something the guild's higher level chars (or lower level, depending on the guild) should do together, and by the time I get to his level, we'll have the guild ready to go for epic quests and stuff...
Just remember what guild leader sacrifice in order to make the guild better, stronger, and centralized in their leadership.
I'd just like to say a big thanks to all the guild leaders out there that sacrifice through personal time and in game fun for the sake of their guildies. I tried to own a guild once, but the people were just...
It's hard to understand unless you've been there and fought the long, hard battle that is guild leadership, especially when a guild just starts, and raids, events, and officer placement is decided solely by you. It's difficult, to say the least, and those that do manage to do it without ending up with a new coat, if you know what I mean...

Romen Orgi, 55 Magician, Brell Serilis
Romen Orgi of Sojourners / Magician, Brell Serilis (Cazic Thule) server magelo
Romen of Fippy's Revenge / Magician, Fippy Darkpaw server
Fiella / Magician, Firona Vie server
Mentas of Cursed Asylum / Magician, Test Server magelo
Aphalia of The Bronze Age / Wizard
Darkaura / Warlock, Scarlet Crusade
But yes this pet kicks ***, some magicians still use it in some cases at level 65.
One of the mages in my guild got his epic, and a couple of days later he came to a raid in City of Mist to kill Lord Rak to complete MY epic.
The Epic pet tore Rak a new one. I didn't even keep agro long enough to die. This was the ONLY pet we had on Rak.
Now, I'm a Shaman, I'm not familiar with Magician pets firsthand, but I can tell you my guildmate was really amazed at how much more powerful the Epic pet was, and he's lvl 60.
Get the Epic. You won't be sorry.
for instance a druid healing and chloro on them?
and is there a difference in this between necro(undead) and mages pets?
Yes, PC's can buff each others' pets to a point. "Pet only" buffs can only buff YOUR pet, not someone elses' regardless of class. But anything you can cast on another player (short of a Lev, pets can't lev for some reason except the Air Pet and Spectre pet) you can cast on your pet.
