Kaya Cloudfoot is the Paladin Guildmaster in Rivervale. She is on Find (Ctrl+F).

You say, 'face the Teir`Dal'

Kaya Cloudfoot says, 'Some days ago, one of our Storm Reapers, a ranger by the name of Botim Bonker, ventured into the Kithicor Forest at daybreak on a routine patrol and never returned. That night, his bloodied tunic was found hanging on a fence post of Tagglefoot's Farm. The blood was dried and many hours old. We believe that he was slain during the day, and that deduction coupled with the fact the undead of Kithicor do not leave the woods nor possess the intelligence or means to sneak into Rivervale and leave the tunic where it would surely be found by fellow Storm Reapers led us to believe they were not responsible. We believe it was the work of the Teir'Dal. Search the Kithicor Woods by daylight and punish the Teir'Dal responsible. Return with the villain's severed hands as proof of his death.'

Head to Kithicor, kill a teir`dal assassin and loot Severed Teir`Dal Hands.

Upon turn in of the Severed Teir`Dal Hands to Kaya :

Kaya Cloudfoot says, 'You have done well, _____. The Teir'Dal must learn that there are those among us Halflings who are willing to do what we must for the defense of our more humble commoners. Take this Dull Bravefoot Short Sword to the forge at Tagglefoot's Farm and sharpen it with a sharpening stone. It may take several attempts if you are unfamiliar with the process. Once that is done, present the blade and a large snake skin to Bodbin Gimple and he will put the finishing touches on the sword.'

Receive 'Dull Bravefoot Short Sword'

Combine the Dull Short Sword with a Sharpening Stone in a forge to create a Sharpened Bravefoot Short Sword. Obtain a Large Snake Skin and hand the two items to Bodbin Gimple, a merchant right next to the forge in Rivervale. Upon the turn-in, you'll receive a Bravefoot Short Sword and faction.

Bodbin Gimple says, 'I require a Sharpened Bravefoot Short Sword and a Large Snake Skin to provide you with a Bravefoot Short Sword.'

Bodbin Gimple fashions a grip out of the large snake skin then tests and polishes the blade of the short sword. 'Yer another one of Kayas trainees I suppose. This here's a fine weapon for a young Paladin of the Storm Reapers like yerself.'

I did the quest today. It's nothing like the writeup.

The quest starts with Kaya Cloudfoot in Rivervale. Follow the prompts until you say "I am ready to face the teir'dal". It works equally well to say teir'dal with an apostrophe or teir dal with a space.

When you hand her the Severed Teir'Dal Hands, you receive faction

Storm Reapers got better
Mayor Gubbin got better
Merchants of Rivervale got better
Unkempt Druids got worse

and she gives you a

Dull Bravefoot Short Sword
LORE ITEM
This item can be used in tradeskills.
WT: 0.1 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

and says "Take this Dull Bravefoot Short Sword to the forge at Tagglefoots farm and sharpen it with a sharpening stone. It may take several attempts if you are unfamiliar with the process. Once that is done present the blade and a large snake skin to Bodbin Gimple and he will put the finishing touches on the sword."

Upon sharpening it becomes a Sharpened Bravefoot Short Sword, same stats except no 'used in tradeskills'.

Bodbin Gimple is the merchant right next to the forge. He doesn't respond to hails but giving him the large snakeskin and sharpened sword gives you the Bravefoot Short Sword and faction

Merchants of Rivervale got better
Deeppockets got better
Guardians of the Vale got better
Mayor Gubbin got better
Coalition of Tradefolk Underground got worse

I finished this quest with some level 60 druid buffs from a nice person in Rivervale, very easy to kill, didn't take long to find him either. Just wander arround. WARNING DO NOT go out in the forest at night,as high level monsters spawn and can be very nasty. Also about people flaming this weapon: I remember when i used rusty weapons at level 13! This is much better than rusty, has stats, and is just better in general. If you cannot buy a better weapon, i righly reccomend this quest. Finished as a level 8 Paladin

not sure, but if your not familiar with the area, make sure you only go exploring during the day, unless you are a decently high lvl, but even then as a back up melee class, you probably wont fair very well at any lvl in there without a group to help out at night.

At level 8 and your a brand new EQ player its nice. If you ever would of played at the beginning there was 1 magic weap you could buy and they where combine weapons 65pp which was alot of cash. Yeshka was the best one of the best weapons in the game. So if your a newb new to eq a free magic weapon basically is a damn good deal!
Wish this stuff was in when I was a newb all them years ago. At level 20 this weapon isnt for you anyways or higher....
Its a level 8 quest dope
Teir Dal hand

Anyone know what drops the hand and what level it is?
teir dal

I can confirm that you have to write teir dal to get him to respond. Doing this on Kane Bayle where it's actually going to be a decent weapon since I'm curently wielding a tarnished long sword which stinks even more... hehe
I GOT IT TO WORK

He responds to the phrase except that you have to leave the apostrophe out (so "Teir'Dal" becomes "Teir Dal").

The sword still stinks, though.
