How do you get to Dranik's Scar from Rivervale? Or Timorous Deep for that matter?!

Say what?
# Jun 25 2007 at 12:06 AM Rating: Decent
Took me a few minutes to figure this out myself.
The zone connections for Timorous Deep and DS are as follows:
DS: Priest of Discord. Works just like the one in PoK.
TD: Down in the far SW corner, are the Firepots. There is a room with these pots to all the cities. Click on the pot you want, and pray it's the one you want, or end up in an unfriendly city.
Bagmakers quest?
# May 03 2003 at 1:57 PM Rating: Decent
I found out that the two merchants outside of Fool's gold (the tailors) are the start of a few quests. The male (don't remember his name) can make special armor, while the female makes special bags. Both require a halfling sewing kit, but I don't know what that is. Please talk to them and help me figure this out, the quests sound cool.

New Ground Spawn
# Mar 11 2003 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent
Has anyone found "Thicket Twigs"? For a new quest in Innothule. Also needed "Faydark Twigs" which were ground spawn in GFay. Looked like a dropped bag. If anyone finds these, please post the /loc. Thanks.

My cleric Meerring on the Rathe server found a Faydark twig (bag on the ground) on a run from Felwithe to Kelethin to the left of the path...I have been wondering what it is for...It is in the bank at the moment...I know it is magic, but if memory serves is not lore or no drop...Any info would be appreciated...If it is something I don't need and isn't "no drop" (bless me, Tunare-that sure looks like a double negative if not triple!) send me a tell and you may have it as it is just taking up space.

Save Money in Rivervale!
# Dec 08 2001 at 3:47 PM Rating: Excellent
Hey guys,

Just a brief suggestion for helping save some money when purchasing supplies in Rivervale. One of the female halflings in Fool's Gold complains about Jillin being missing. Ask her who Jillin is, and she will respond that Jillin is her courier who normally delivers the deputies food. Respond 'I will take the stew.' She gives you a bowl of stew and orders to deliver it before it gets cold. Take the stew to the stronghold (bank, shop, warriors guild, etc.) In the room with the big table, the guard to the left of the entrance (going in) takes the bowl and you get faction bonuses with the merchants plus exp. Do this quest over and over again until you no longer get faction hits, and you will notice prices around town dropping drastically.

Young druids can also do a similar quest for Unar, but it requires zoning to Misty so it takes a bit longer. Unar gives you a note to take to Deputy Taglin. Taglin is one of the guards at the entrance to Misy. Give him the note and he gives you a coin. Take the coin to Unar for exp, small coin and faction. Takes a bit longer, but works just as well.

Halflings can be warriors too! If you are determined to develop an uber warrior, then it might not be the best choice. But it's fun to play an unusual character. It ultimately depends on what you want from the game.

I often get positive comments from other players about being a halfling warrior female. Not too many of us around! Doesn't matter if I make it to level 60, I'm just having a good time!

Warrior halflings do suck. Only thing they have good are their bows but now pallys and rangers have them. They are easily outdamaged by most classes.

I never considered goblins until I realized I shouldn't have killed Gunrich (several times). Now of course I am KOS in Rivervale. I have done 5 bug collection quests, killed many Orcs turning in belts, killed many Bixies, and Mooto many times. I am still KOS in Rivervale. Any suggestions?

if you have money, go buy a few stacks of bandages and hand them into the guy in the far house...start at the wall head towards rv by the road, then where it forks, take the right one instead of the left, and you hand in the bandages to the guy. you can check out the details just go into rivervale quests, but this helps factions with rv a lot

to get exp is easy especialli at your location you can head to misty...the higher lvl side...i think goblins are still okai and orcs are good if you find a partner...money you would have to work for you can collect and give in runnyeye warbeads off gobbiz for a lil change and food or give in orc belts to get some change...besides that you can sell the loot off the gobbiz and orcs, which adds up for spells and such...to save money for now you can forage sum of your food, and worry about spells first...do sum side quest in rv and misty for change and food...and sumtimes misc. items...its not that hard once you try it. =o) hope this helps.

you have to make a file with blacksmithing. It's not hard, just a metal bits, a file mold, and a flask of water.
rivervale stuff

I have a couple characters who have started in rivervale rivervale is great for people who just started!!!!!!! one quick tip or the trade: find the druid guild. In the fields in the druid guild lil' pouchs will appear they have jumjumstalks which nillipuss steals. Now, What npc says they dont want YOU stealing the jumjumstalks NONE they just dont wnamt nillipuss stealing them so grab the jumjum before nillipuss comes, the NPCs wont do anything to you if you take the jumjum, The jumjum stalks sell for 4silver good for any character who is just starting! and it is also food! for free! another source of free food is in a canyon in the thicket. Walk ou tinto the thicket and facing away from tunnel to rivervale head to your RIGHT pass all the huts and go into the first canyon you see, the one with two empty huts right near the edge and the one also near the empty tower, TWO BERRIES appear there they are food so collect them. Also those berries are used for a rogue quest (pretty decent actually , but im not gonna get into that). THose are some cool tips for getting free food!

If you are too lazy to gte outof town and your about lvl 4 or 5 i have an excellent exp tip for you! Find high lvl druid and see if they will give you some buffs (enduring breath, and skin like nature also any other you like)(aLSO they will be happier if you give them some fish scales for the enduring breath spell tell them what you are doing and the might be a little more obliged to help you after you have those buffs (enduring breath and skin like nature + what eva u want) go to the docks and hop in the water enduring breath allows you to not have to worry bout breathing and the skin like anture gives you about 400 life , roughly. Any way when your in the water wait for de lil' fishys swim by kill all the trout you see!(if you have a thorns killin all de trout will be much easier)and when ever you seepirhana kill them! well as long as you have a weapon that does about 10 dmg or more turn in the pirhana teeth to biddy bobick or whoeva forgot his name at the moment or marshal lanena the will reward you! so thats twice the exp! do this till bout lvl 8! at lvl 5 around one pirhana gave me half a bubble!!and turning in the teeth gave me a lot aswell! also you can look up the rantho rapier quest it involves pirhana teeth i partially mentioned the staryt of this quest hehe anyhoo thats one way to power lvl as lvl 5-8 alsoi great way for newbies to make some quick cash and get free food i';ve mentioned. Well, i have other things to tell you people but i wanna log oin as my new cleric so c you round! i might give some more tips lata

Squad Rings
# May 01 2001 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
I want to kill a few deputies. Any suggestions on how to do this?
I tried to pull one, and got the beat down from some random mob. Dual hitting for 300
RE: Squad Rings
# Sep 19 2002 at 1:36 PM Rating: Decent
If you want squad rings just do the quest for it. It's a lot easier than trying to kill the guards. Besides then you'll never be able to walk through Riverdale again.

pulling deputies are fairly easy i have been doing since lvl 20...if you can harmony them...if not...you can easily lure them away from the wall by attacking a mob, turn attack off, head to ur chosen deputy, and make sure he starts to attck the mob...walk a bit away from the wall...the mob will follow you, and so will the deputy...when you are far enough from the other deputies you can start killing your target. or it would be so much easier to kindly ask some caster to harmony the deputies...that will let you pull while they are together...just pull towards the orc camps beacuse the deputies hardly ever head in that direction. hope this helps.
RE: Squad Rings
# May 31 2001 at 3:21 PM Rating: Default
Almost impossible to pull them, since they tend to roam around looking to kill things and defend their fellow Halflings at the same time.

Odds are, if they're in spell range then you're in their attack range as well.

Missing money
# Feb 05 2001 at 2:15 AM Rating: Decent
Has anyone else had money disappear from them in Rivervale. It happened twice. The first time I gave the moeny to one of the druid merchants for a spell. They took my 5pp and change but no spell. The second time I entered RV with 9 pp and after I purchased something small noticed 6 of it was gone.

I dont know if this is a bug or if something else is happening. If anyone has had something similar occur I'd lik to know. Then I wont think I'm crazy.

What server? If you're on a PvP there's a good chance you may have run into one of our town's more accomplished burglars and not even realized it ... the spell sounds like a glitch. Haven't run into that (although it sounds better than finding a griffin in a shop! That's happenned to me in both Karanas and the Commonlands.)
kill dem fishes

nothing beats for an all around positive experience a good day of fishing..or in this case man-eating fish huting...if you are around lvl 7-8 go to the fishermans dock in Rivervale and jump in the water..sortly after you will prob be attacked by 1-2 pirahna..they con blue-white around this lvl, give good exp and drop pirana teeth which can be turned into the hobbit at the docks for experience, mega coinage, and some random food water items. If thats not enough you get to practice your swimming during the whole battle...always a usefull skill to have and if things start to get nasty just jump out of the water are you are safe to rest and heal. The pirahna do sometimes take a bit of time to spawn but you can spend that time killing little fishies that drop fish scales, rivervale trout and fresh fish which you can eat just like chunks of meat. You just cant lose with this plan and you get hobbit faction for turing in the tooths too..alas you take a negative faction hit with the evil merchants so if you frequent evil city you might want to avoid killing doing the quest part too often..but the pirahana are still easy, GOOD exp
RE: kill dem fishes
# Nov 25 2000 at 9:54 AM Rating: Default
What weapons / Skills do you use - same as on land? And does your weight/allowance figure in when trying to get out of the water?
RE: kill dem fishes
# Feb 01 2001 at 6:29 PM Rating: Decent
Exactly the same as on land. I have never had any problems with the weight either. If anyone knows otherwise let me know - I'll avoid carrying armour in the water ;)

But fighting melee with the fish is normal meleeĆng. If you can get a lucky swipe in you can sometimes kill the small fish that lurk in the pond too - the fish meat that they drop are worth a couple of silver so to a lvl 7 that's not bad money for a quick swipe!

Does anybody knows if one kind of food is better than the other, like on Earth...
I think the food sold in Rivervale last longer than the rest ...
