Ivy Etched Helm  

In the north central part of Kithicor Forest, find Gandari (location +1468, +2419).

You say, 'Hail, Gandari'

Gandari says 'Most call me Gandari the Terse. You here for [ivy armor]?'

You say, 'What ivy armor?'

Gandari says 'I reward brave rangers with ivy etched armor - [helm]s, [tunic]s, [sleeves] and [bracers]. [Interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested in a helm.'

Gandari says 'I do not haggle; I do not bargain. The top of the Rune of Ivy from Castle Mistmoore, a cyclops charm from Tarskuk and a sapphire of sky blue. Bring these to me and you shall earn your reward.'

Head to Rathe Mountains. The monster that is needed is Tarskuk, a named cyclops. Near the zone line to Lake Rathetear is a large open area set with a wide hill, atop which are two stone arms and hands that reach toward the sky (location +3270, +1640). On and around this hill, are the placeholders of Tarskuk: giant skeletons, cyclopses, lizardman warriors, and lizardman mystics. Kill them until Tarskuk spawns.

Kill Tarskuk and loot the "Cyclops Charm".

There are no faction hits for killing Tarskuk.

Travel to Faydwer and zone into Castle Mistmoore. Hunt the interior of the castle proper for "a deathly usher". There are several that will be up at any given time.

Kill deathly ushers until you loot the "Rune of Ivy". This item identifies as "Rune of Ivy (top)".

Travel to any city and find a gem merchant. Purchase one Sapphire.

Head back to Kithicor Forest and return to Gandari. Give her the sapphire, the Rune of Ivy, and the Cyclops Charm.

Gandari says 'Wait, Ryllian, are you not forgetting something?'

A guildmate recently looted the charm after asking /gu Who is Tarskuk?
I was continents away so he looted it and now I'm wondering... Can we multiquest this item? I can't find anywhere that says Ivy Etched can or cannot be multiquested. Anyone know?

Okay, Tarskuk pops near the Lake Rathe zone in Rathe Mountains. He can be a PAIN to make pop so be prepared for a long camp. If he isn't on track when you zone in from Lake Rathe, start slaughtering all the cyclops that you see up. This is supposed to get him to spawn earlier....

Broon and Proon in East Karana also drop a cyclops charm. I did this quest using the one off of them and it didn't work. (Hope that saves someone some time).

The Deathly Ushers drop the rune of ivy an average of 1 out of 6 or 7 times. However, the Deathly Ushers INSIDE drop it more often than the ones that you can find outside.

The quest items are nodrop.

The armor is lore.

I got a twink ranger, well she isnt twinked yet, but i want to. Can I do this quest with my necromancer (lvl 55)? Or if not (i probably dont have the faction for it), are the quest items nodrop?

I know Thisle Underbrush in LFay and griffons in NK drops a no drop rune of ivy... I assume that rune is different from the rune needed here? Thanks for any info.

I got the rune from following a high level group into teh kitchen, adn within 20 minutes they had destroyed about 5 runes and 7 MM granite's. The charm was the hard part for me Took me a week of camping to finally get it from teh cyclops in Rathe mtn's. so if your after the rune from the deathly usher's. follow someone into the castle i have seen so many drop in there its not funny.

This quest info is true. People can get this early due to the fact that they can buy it from other players for about 2k for an entire set. I have seen people at lvl 6 with an entire set. :-P

After giving my stuff to Leaf (and losing it) I looked around and found the right person to give it to. In one of the houses by leaf there is a girl named Gandari who offers the helm, tunic, sleeves and bracer.

The charm can be found on any named cyclops but i have not foud one on the regular Cyclopses in Rathe

I agree with the post asking what the courtesy post had to do with Ivy Etched??? The anon person that posted this on virtually EVERY board should have his head shoved where the sun don't shine. I know many people that are sick and tired of seeing his idiotic post all over the place.

Now for something PERTINENT to this forum: Does anyone know how rare this drop is? I am in MM now and have not seen one as of yet. I know people that have killed many DU's without a rune as well.

Also, I know at least 2 spawn under the crypt. Does anyone know where else?

Last question... I would be willing to pay to loot this item. Any suggestion on price to loot this item?

I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

I also found the cyclops charm on Broon in EK. I have not completed the quest with this charm, but I will see if this is the correct one, after I get the rune of Ivy.
