The Orcs of Crushbone are the bane of the Elves of Faydark. Inside this orcish stronghold are numerous camps, an underground slave mine, and a castle which houses the leaders of Crushbone Clan.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 11 2002 at 5:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have a question. I was in the Throne Room group with my level druid who was level 16 at the time. I was getting little xp per battle but made it to 17 in two days. At this rate will it take me 4 days to get to 18 and 8 to get to 9???
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 28 2002 at 6:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I suggest you don't stay in crushbone much longer

Tactic....I think
# Jan 28 2002 at 9:13 PM Rating: Default
I am a newbie to the game and I think a good tactic for Rangers to use on Orc Cents and Legos is to stand on the opposite side of the stream in front of the castle. Firstly, Cast Flame lick, then fire an arrow (2 if you have a quick bow), as it approaches you, kick it and by this time you should be able to make an attack with your sword. It does a small amount of damage with the spell(also reduces AC), 14 with bow (or 28 if you have a good 1), 9 point kick and then 15 with weapon and the SOB should be running. Easy =)

That is one expensive tactic there bub since arrows are lost once they are flying. If you are a good fletcher you may be able to balance the costs but that can still add up, not to mentioning needing to go back for supplies for more arrows and the limited storage spaces/ weight alowance. The river trick may be a tactic for me though since I a Druid with a perpensity to Nuke BURN BABY BURN... ahem and I oft grab quite a few at a time and that may help cut down my med sessions since I feel I mana pretty fast
When to tank and when not to tank story
# Jan 01 2002 at 11:02 PM Rating: Decent
Ahh the joy of slashing the brains out of orcs. Soloing the orcs is a hobby now i can solo most anything at this point in time except dvinn dont know how or why i just cant oh well. Neway on with my story. So here i was in the TR in a group of a lvl 13 bard(me), a level 14 druid, a level 15 druid and we had no true tank so i was deemed "temporary tank" to go pull all those beasties. Anyway there we were healing meming spells when suddenly the spawn starts happening and before we know it were full up to our necks in orcs of all types so we fight for a while till our druids are oom and we try to haul but of course we have no time and we get trapped in there and i get killed while tanking and my "buddies" get off and head to zone. The moral of this story never tank unless you are buffed or fit to tank thank you.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 28 2002 at 7:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) at level 30 you can rip the crushbone zone apart no problems as all. if you are porting into gfay first you just have to be carefull to keep away from the felwithe guards on your way there, best to get an elf player who knows the area to show you the way. as to worrying about dark elf warrior faction....well i wouldn't worry much.

That was a GM in orc's clothing. They sometimes like to drop into a zone and have some fun with the newbies. You couldn't attack him because the GM didn't let you attack him. And he despawned probably because he'd had enough laughs.

He's a rogue, and rogue classes are generally A) Really hard hitters and B) Low Hitpoints. So if you can, avoid getting into a melee with him. I just snared him, blasted him with my ranger fire spells, and basically made a pincushion out of him with my arrows. Once he started to 'run' I closed in for the kill.

You will be given full control of the creature to do with it what you like. You may hunt and kill other creatures. You may even attack other players.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 24 2001 at 8:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To anyone reading the earlier post about going into crushbone at level 2, first of all you wouldnt make it to the zone ent alive, as there are many orc centurions guarding the ent itself (6 spawns to be exact) and second of all an orc centurion would easily kill a full group of second level chars, not to mention agro there is bad at lower levels. Basically kill skeles and bats and such at levels 1-5 in this zone...levels 5-7 or 8 at orc hill, then head to cb ent and watch for trains. Also please call your own trains as well!
RE: CB at level 2
# Nov 27 2001 at 11:09 PM Rating: Good
You could enter CB at 2nd pretty easily. If you run straight into the entrance, you can reach the zone way before the gaurds catch up. If there wasn't a train (blender)waiting inside, you could even make it to the ledge behind trainer hill (by the way, this is an excellent place to rest). The problem is, if you moved off the ledge in any direction, you would be hamburger. I have leveled all the way from 8th to 17th at crusbone and recommend hunting there as soon as possible, because of the XP and money to be made from the Orc belts and pads. C U in CB

Turn in bone chips at the pally guild in Kaladim. They aren't as picky, from what I've heard. Once your faction is high enough in kaladim, you can turn in enough orc pads to make you an ally (my current con at kelethin and kaladim)

The Warlord is a random spawn throughout the zone. Though you will generally find the Warlord to the right of the entrance to the TR in an alcove. After he spawns he heads directly there, regardless of where he spawns at.

I played my lvl 9 monk here and grouped with a druid, we went to the second bridge and were gonna get a full group to take slavers and cents and legoes and stuff. And to our suprise a druid was the lvl 39, Lendrel, He was so kool us two were like gettin both PLed at once! It was kool , he cast skin like diamond , gave us wolf form, stone strength, shield of spikes during battle and healed us when low on hp. Both the lvl 10 druid and i got 3 yellow bulb of xp! It was so sweet killin legos that were red, 2 at once with cents on us. And since i am a monk when he couldnt heal me i used mend for 1 and a half bulbs of my red hp bar back. It was fun since i am a patial twink, ie.- I ,got bout 6 pieces of Wu's fighting armor, a sap of piety (16dmg, 32del, 500pp) and sarnak enmforcer (7dmg 28del and weighs only 1.5, 50pp)
Thing is, my lvl 26 warrior didnt twink me! The people in EC are so nice! I got it all from monks too! Boy, i cant wait til the 1 guy i got stuff from trades 2 fighting batons for my sap of piety, he said he always gives stuff away to monks, pretty nice guy.

That maybe less than some Twinks out there but......You have more powerful some more powerful items than i do at lvl 16. Just cause you didn't twink as hard as you could doesn't make you a partial twink, there is no such thing.
You are a twink be proud be strong........but above all else help those in need. Because either the aforementioned are trying hard (and it is hard) not to twink, or they are a noob and deserving of your infinately greater XP in playing the game.

P.S. To completely change the subject.....I love high level player characters. I am a dwarf paladin of the 16th cycle and i know that when i go to my home town (i am humble it IS a town) there are at least 4-5 noobs that love the fact that i came home.
This is true so much more in dangerous places like the CB zone (not that is anywhere near dangerous if played properly) cause the only guards *are* the high levels. I know that when i hit a respectable level like 25+ i will be returning there to save numerous asses in the TR and at the wall. :-)

Ok, as much as I love elves of all sort... and especially woodies. You are wrong about the druid thing. Not only by game design but also by the sheer numbers of lvl 60 non woodies druids, wood elves are not the only class that are good druids. Also if you think wood elves are sooo cool and they are the best druids. Why aren't you one as opposed to your friend who is '1'. I have no trap, you didn't have to say it, in fact you went out of your way to do so.

Hey ya all! Hunting in cb with lvl 5 Wizzard on Veeshan server is really great because you can buy the cb belts for 1pp each and give them a tip if they put it in a pack. Just stay near the entrance and watch for those trains. If twinked with money at lvl 1 buy a whole bunch of CB belts(as many as you can) cause at lvl one every two belts is worth 3 blue bubs of exp.

RE: Crushbone Belts

K that is not the best idea to give a noob, cuz then your skills will suck, and the higher you go like that, the more lvling time you will have to spend getting your skills up. Also, for cster's it is ALWAYS good to put a little plat aside for spells. They are expensive, very. The Cb belts are a "side quest" so to speak, to get some XP on the side, they are not meant to be a medium of "PLing".

...don't tell me it is a LVL 12 - 20 ZONE Cause D'Vinn sure isn't he Con blue to me at 26 but he hits like a red 30 - 45 points of dmg my ac was 533.....

Ok. First of all, you couldn't solo him because you suck. Secondly, A blue con to a level 26 (I just happen to be a level 26 ranger right now, what a coinkeydink) hits for 1-50 damage. All mobs have those weak minimum hits for 1 damage of course, but right now soloing icebone skeletons and sarnak recruits in lake of ill omen (most con blue, some even) they hit for a max of 50. I can solo them no problem (wurmy, centi longsword, the list goes on...) However an example of a red con would be a mountain giant tump, which are on average level 30, and they hit for about 60. D'vinn hits for a max of 45. He should have been a pushover. Remember that in a tough fight rangers cannot go toe to toe the entire time. Try snaring him or rooting him and then mixing ignite with your bow (if you're 26 and you don't have a trueshot, then you suck.) once you whittle him down to 3/4 health or 1/2 health, close in for the melee.

By the way did I mention you suck?

Oh and there is such a thing as punctuation. Try and use it sometime.
RE: D'Vinn
# Sep 25 2001 at 10:08 AM Rating: Default
ALL Dark Elf SKs are underconned. Which means they may be lvl 20, but hit like they were lvl 30. An example is Kizdean Gix in WC.

BTW 533 AC sucks.
RE: D'Vinn
# Oct 17 2001 at 9:54 AM Rating: Decent
I don't know this from personal experience only through the outings of a friend level 30 druid....level 25+ everything is underconned
Tell me i am wrong and i will ask you to prove it, cause i have seen it.

And believe me that it can get ugly.

BTW yourself....... what level does 533 AC suck? That is pretty powerful from where most classes stand for an average level character. eg: 15-30 or so i thought?
RE: D'Vinn
# Oct 31 2001 at 7:26 AM Rating: Decent
In according with what beltzor says here, all the mobs seem underconned because

1. Its a group game.
2. You're probably not really twinked.

If you twink a level 25 with about 14k you can handle blues and some evens with little or no help depending on where you are in your levels. Now I am speaking from warrior perspective if you had about 40k, you could buy fbss, 2 strong weapons (not going to name specifics as opinions vary so much and I dont wanna get flamed for picking the wrong 2, hehe) and a fungi tunic, have enough left over to get yourself to about 750ac (at 25 thats pretty darn good.) At that point I know a wise warrior could solo pretty easily. I was soloing in OT at level 39 with just bumming a regen and a haste because 39 is one of those levels where the lower end mobs of the blue spectrum still gives decent xp and doesnt hardly hit you. Anyhow, this is supposed to be a group oriented game and thats why everything post 20ish seems underconned.

Rogues hide gorgeous!!!

Avoid Dvinn at all costs before level 20 backed by a group. I have killed him in a group consisting of me (14 pally at the time), a rogue (11), a druid (13), a shawoman (14) and a warrior (12).
It was a nasty fight and the rogue and i went down.......the warrior lived via my LOH, i assume the only reason the casters lived was cause the warrior did.
I hate this guy and have killed him since about 4 times and every time it has ended in death for players. Despite the fact that i have been in the TR with high levels.

Damn his backstab hurts!!! He has never dropped the dragoon dirk once for one of my groups, it must be a fine weapon.

I have killed Dvinn at lvl 10 (wiz) with a lvl 7 (forgot) or something like that. If anybody even thinks about trying to kill him at this lvl MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKUP. We had a 4-something cleric and a 3-something druid buffing us before hand and taking out any other orcs that aggroed on us. Almost every time we killed him (about 5) he dropped a Dragoon Dirk so i guess your just have a unlucky streak. I almost didn't cast at all because of all the buffs and damage shields.

You should leave CB when you get to lvl 12, with my first character I made BAD mistake, and stayed untill 14, it was slow exp,but with my ranger, I went and fought the stupid blue creeps, and then I left for Oasis when I was 12, Oasis is a pretty fair place for exp, but Unrest, oh yes stinky smelly dead Unrest, thats the place to be, yes of coarse alot of trains, but wonderful exp. I gained 2 yellows in 30mins, well just saying my 2cents, happy hunting everyone!!
