dropped an ALE and a BACKPACK!

Been a long time since I killed an orc pawn but had to do it once I started a toon on Phinigel. So far I've seen them drop an ALE and, pretty cool, a BACKPACK. Other than that, just a couple of coppers.

What people forget about orc pawns in CB, evidently, is that they're PLACEHOLDERS. I've zoned into CB and found orc pawns up everywhere. I think this is because some players don't realize that and if the orc pawn doesn't provide XP they leave it alone. Which means that spawn spot has no chance to spawn a centurion or a legionnaire. I just passed thru one Phinigel instance or CB, cleared all the orc pawns, and when I went around 10 minutes later several legos had spawned in their places. Lego pads give 5% XP apiece at level 10 so well worth the effort.

So I'm sitting at the Spires in Gfay. I go AFK for a minute, my pet there. I'm level 14. An Orc Pawn goes up to me, and smacks me! I'm not there, but my pet was. One hit, the sorry sack of it died. A waste of orc!
bye bye orcs

# Feb 13 2002 at 11:49 AM Rating: Excellent
It is easy to kill these as you can stay near the guards and when you think you are going to die, just run to the guards. Simple!

You know what would be funny? If I gave all the orc pawns in Gfay a Fine Steel weapon and sit and watch all the melee type classes get slaughtered! wow that would be VERY funny hahahahhaha, Maybe if I give them like leather?? they mightbe tougher?? maybe I'll have to try it!!

A friend of mine gave Velium weapons to the orcs in West Freeport. They had to bring down the zone and he almost got banned for that.

If nothing else you can beg from them till they attack you.

::presses beg hotkey::
::Watches orc pawns eyes tear up:: (as he knows he programmed to attack you after so many attempts and that you are going to kill him in one hit)
::presses beg hotkey::
::snickers with sadistic glee::

ohh yeah that reminds me... when you are fighting, right after you hit, click off attack(most likely by pressing 1 if you know what you're doing) and click on beg. then click attack on... cause you can't beg while you attacking but if you click it off you can slip in a sly comment and maybe he throw some coin your way after 150,010,234,501,030,405,010,032,405,012,035 attampts at begging and you get it to master

ohh yeah that's prolly doesn't make sense to anyone that would fin dit usefull

my bad

As a budding Magi, fumbling with summoning foodstuffs and starry-eyed daydreams of commanding elementalkin;
When the forest beyond Felwithe seemed gloomy and large and considering every bat;
You would appear, with lost puppy dog eyes and a stern visage to cover your nervousness that so mirrored my own;
An orc pawn! Conning it and running back, that second that yawned for eternity as my finger hovered over the burst of flame command;
You would swing your obligatory strikes, before falling with a clumsy dignity, looking up at me so I could watch that innocent light fade out;
From the first level, when you supplied me with experience;
To the tenth, when I realized that the weapon you gripped with fear would sell for a few silver;
So to you, I must give my eternal gratitude.
My first whipping toy. :)

Anyone who has leveled from 1 in GFay knows these are level 2.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 10 2001 at 2:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For those in Gfay, watch out for pawns with the scythe weapons. These guys hit for 16-19 damage against a lightly armored spellcaster. One of these guys whacked me once from behind, hit me again as I turned around and had my 4 wiz down below half before I even knew what I was up against. They are great xp and carry rusty weapons or cloth armor about 35% of the time plus a couple copper. Just watch yourself in the Gfay newbie garden.

For the repeated question of who those orcs are, they are Death Pawn orcs from Northern RO. good xp there, but they often spawn near Orc Raiders, which can be fun at low levels

Wrong Pawns
# Jun 20 2000 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
The Pawns in the picture are not those from GFay. I've seen many of them (the ones in the picture) on Antonica, I think aroung Q Hills. Also, the pawns in GFay are at least level 2. I remember running from those things as a newbie.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 04 2000 at 5:15 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would agree. The pawns are 2-3. The thing that got me is that I'm 9 now, the pawns con green, and they still agro on me. They just never learn.
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 05 2000 at 9:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yep, these here are deathfist pawns, the underlings of the Deathfist Clan.
Watch out
# Jun 13 2000 at 6:06 PM Rating: Decent
These guys are easy prey for newbies, once you get to lv. 2 or 3. You have to be careful though, because (as someone above mentioned) they do like to gang up on you. The main thing you need to consider, though, is that killing these guys lowers your faction standing w/ the Crushbone Orcs. At newbie levels, this isn't really a very good thing. Even if you don't actually go into Crushbone, there are plenty of Orc Centurions wandering around in the Greater Faydark. If you have low faction w/ them, they *will* come after you, and if you're below about level 5, you *are* going to die. It's happened to me more than once, and finding your corpse out in the Greater Faydark is next to impossible. Something to think about.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 11:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) At level 1 they are KOS to you(UNLESS YOU ARE A DARK ELF)!
Those are....

What they wearing?
# May 31 2000 at 10:52 PM Rating: Decent
Out of all the Orc Pawns i have ever seen, i have never seen any wear that stuff. What is it? Also i believe what lvl you are affects how many MoBs can gang on you. (I.E. Lvl 5...5 mobs...23 23 mobs.
