Seems like his PH can be any orc slaver; I just killed him behind the castle, not in the slave pen.

Whip

What are the stats on the whip? I'd like to know.
RE: Whip
# Jun 05 2002 at 8:14 AM Rating: Default
It bites, only a cheap whip, no + to anything, if you get it, sell it unless you wanna practice your 1hs with a noob. Other than that, sell it to a vendor.

Re:Gossimer Robe
# Feb 28 2002 at 9:54 AM Rating: Excellent
Yes the quest for the Gossimer Robe is worth it. It took me 15 minutes to complete, very easy. 1. Kill the taskmaster and loot the brass earring off of him.2. Take the earring to the slave pits and git it to the High Elf female, and she will in return give you a torn letter.3. Go to the mage guild in Felwithe and give the torn letter to Niola, and in return you get the Gossimer Robe, some money, and experience, so yeah I'd say it's worth it. It's a nice robe.

Wow thanks for this thread I didn't even realize there were quests for this creature and better yet 6 under the same item so I can chhose.

I got the earring once and now I wish I hadn't sold it (would a kept it for the decent stats but a kindly stranger twinked me ears when I was a total newbie). Maybe I can find some on the merchants, since I sold mine not knowing it had a associated quest and I know others will have as well. Too bad kelethin is 1000 grid long, that's alot of merchants to check :)

Then again I'm headed back to nuke some orcs and he just became VERY high on my stomp em list

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 08 2002 at 6:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Im a lvl 18 mage and I have spent much time in crushbone, camping throne room with groups, etc etc. However, i have NEVER seen the takmaster. I have spent time in the slave pits a little. From reading the posts above, I judge that I could probably slay him bad, but is the quest for the gossimer robe worth it?
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 18 2001 at 4:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, He isnt hard at all. He spawns about every 1 and a half to 2 and a half hours. I was level 13 and camped him out, and Beat him by myself. I guess Grasping Roots and Ignite are pretty good for a Druid Combo. Both Times right after another,{{Ive fought him many times, but this being the first time actually waiting to camp him out}} I got the Earrings, Me not knowing about giving them to Slaves went and sold them, I cant remember how much they sell for, Maybe a Plat or so...
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 07 2001 at 2:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) After 3 hrs. of camping this fool of an orc, I got the following: Brass earring, 2 leather whips (dont ask why just had 2 on him), and a pair of Raw-Hide boots (this must have been an uncommon loot). Anyway got my Gossimer Robe so im happy.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 07 2001 at 2:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) BTW held the camp myself. pretty easy for a lvl 20 Mage you think. Even with that !@#$ gnome coming every once and a while.

#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 04 2001 at 6:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) While camping the slave pits when i was a lvl 10 cleric, i saw the taskmaster only once. and i have camped the area quite a few times. My party consisted of a lvl 10 cleric, a lvl 12 wizard, and me tanking (although people dont believe me until they see it or just flat out disagree with the whole idea of clerics doing the front line battling. Ive actually had ppl leave my party because i hit harder than them.)

I was in CB on 6/27/01 and saw the taskmaster standing by himself. I conned him and discovered he was blue and decided to kill him. I see that his description says he's level 14-16, but I was level 13 when he conned blue to me.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 24 2001 at 6:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You Can find the TaskMaster place holder near the Slave PIT.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 06 2001 at 7:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I camped this guy for about 4 hours. In that time he spawned 3 times. The 3 times where all in the first hour and 30mins. After that he didnt spawn the rest of my time. Then about 2 hours later he spawnded (I know this even though I wasnt camping him because someone who camped him after I did told me. For his lvl he is pretty easy(reminds me of a lego with a whip). He didnt drop his earring but I did get one a couple days later when I killed him. The whip is good for lvls 1 to mabey 15 yet you can get a dwaven axe or mino axe and there better. Also you have about a 1 in 5 chance of getting the earring.
RE: spawn time
# Feb 03 2001 at 9:35 PM Rating: Excellent
seems to me he usually spawns every 10-30min, he has placeholders, so you have to kill them to make him spawn
Earring
# Oct 05 2000 at 2:57 PM Rating: Excellent
If you give the earring to the different slaves, you get a nice Faction hit as well as minute XP, the slave also is freed and give you a note/cloth/rune, something with writing and a name on it. Find the person who's name is on this item, give it to them, and you are rewarded with a minor item.
loot(whip)
# Aug 06 2000 at 2:55 PM Rating: Excellent
i killed him on lvl 12(with a party of course) and i got a leather whip. I had another one from a friend and since i get dual wield on lvl 17(im a bard) i guess ill keep it so i could dual wield the 2 leather whips. this thing actually gave pretty good exp. i gained to lvl 12(DING) from it and a lot of cash. and oh.. by the way..... he conned red to me at lvl 11 but we took him out easily since i had a full party and i think 2 tanks.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 19 2001 at 12:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I may give/make stuff for newbies(i'm a tailor) but them have to get the pelts, I think it would be ok if you have a good item or two but not a full suit of crafted armor at lvl5.

i just had to get in on this one. I think twinking is stupid and and thought if VI had any way to make a weapon unavilable until you are of lev to take the MOB carrying the weapon or armor. i have a lev 10 druid untwinked and a lev 7 magi also untwinked. my lev 32 warrior is the only one i really play alot and i think it is fun to give out hand me downs to newbies but come-on i had a guy on the bristlebane server when rubicite was still dropping there was a lev 1 barb warr running around in full rubicite and two yaks it pissed me off i think people now a days have to cheat to do anything.
like use the caster with the best INT or WIS.
it is very rare you find someone who plays the game for the diffaculty. like a human druid. or maybe a halfling warrior. And yes i expect a degree of critisim but let me just say if it gets out of hand you are the one that has no life because you had to whine about my little letter

Saramin Bonechipper
lev 32 warrior from halas
and a lev 10 human druid
and a lev 7 magi
all of the bristlebane server hehe
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 5:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) By the time you get level 17, If you are using a leather whip(5/30 non magic) you are pathetic. Im sorry but you can easily get some better weps than that. The Gladius in Unrest is much better, and its easy to get. Or you get a pair of EBM's theyre 8/28 Magic and only cost about 200pp per.

I am getting very tired of the attitude of many players in this game. While, yes, there are much better weapons to be had than a plain leather whip at level 17, who are you to call somebody pathetic because of their choices? To some (me included) 200pp is a lot of money. I am getting sick of watching lvl 16 characters or lower walking around in full crafted and wielding Wurmslayers. If you wanna twink, that's your choice, but don't call people pathetic because they may actually have a life away from the game.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 3:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Preach it on brother, i met a lvl 5 the other day with full crafted CG bp and journyman boots and an exe ax, lvl 5s arent sposed to be able to wear that stuff
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 23 2001 at 12:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You think that's bad? I saw a lv 1 High Elf Pally in full shining armor with a messenger of the queen, a dagger of dropping, and a shield of kurn!

You call that a twink? I saw a lvl 2 High Elf Enchanter wearing Advisor's Robe, Stien of Moggok, and a Rod of Inistuous Glamour. Also had a Opal Encrusted Stien (I saw him switch). Darn Im a lvl 23 and have the exact same stuff as him!

Down with twinking! Up with fighting for your armor!
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 10:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) damn strait (excuse my languiage) onm nameless the super twink server i mean everyone cept me seems to be walking around with level 50 characters besides them and there in full cobalt and eBMs are 100pp on nameless but thats still alittle much and anyway maybe they like the whip noise hmmmm ever think abot that hmmm didnt think soooo

no the lvls are correct
# Jun 02 2000 at 1:10 PM Rating: Default
I am a lvl 20 druid and i killed him yesterday, he conned green but gave exp (not much obviously) so he's more then 14, definatly not less
oh, and dropped the leather whip
Levels seem wrong
# May 23 2000 at 9:22 AM Rating: Default
I've hunted in Crushbone for a while now, and whenever I see the taskmaster (almost always in a train) He's conned yellow to me, and I'm lvl 11. If his minimum level is 14 then he'd be red. I'd guess that he can be about the same as legionnares.
Whip
