There was a time many years ago when you could give items to mobs and they would carry the item until someone killed them and looted it. High levels who were feeling generous would sometimes run around salting the newbie zones with items they no longer needed but that would be an upgrade for the newer players by handing them off to whatever mobs populated the area. The ability to give random items to mobs was removed in a patch a long time ago so anyone who found anything of any value on the elven priest or on any other low level mob anywhere in the game other than what it normally drops was the beneficiary of a passing high level player giving the item to the mob they killed to get it. It was not a part of the normal loot table. You will not find the Screaming Mace, the Dwarven Ringmail Tunic, the Shiny Brass Shield, or anything else that doesn't belong on his corpse if you kill him anymore as there is no longer any way for it to be placed there. You will only find those items on the mobs that normally drop them now. So the people who posted they found these things on him may not have been lying, but the game mechanic that allowed those items to be found there no longer works. Items that a mob doesn't need will either be returned or be destroyed. It will not be retained by the mob so it can be looted later. Just trying to clear up some confusion because I know there will be players on the progression servers who will be camping the priest for the Dwarven tunic because he is an easier kill than Emperor Crush after reading the comments here. Don't waste your time. He doesn't have it.

Does anyone know how bad the faction hit is for killing this guy? I was killing time waiting for some friends and decided to reduce the Slaver population a bit. I was a 17th. Finally realized it was the Elf, and had no option except to kill him. Now I'm curious as to the faction hit. Anybody got some info on this?

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 18 2002 at 8:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I was in Crushbone killing orcs for the faction so i could actually get IN to kelethin, and not just GFay. When I see this dude walking around, it was a little weird to see him free, not only that but he was carrying a staff and wearing some sort of BP. Choosing to ignore it i found my cleric partner and we started to kill orcs. Well he wanders over to me and starts trying to hit me with is staff and healing the orc. I leave the wimply little orc to run and let the cleric twack at him, and turn on the elf. I really should't of killed him but I did ( the whole faction thingy ). He dropped about 5 rusty weapons, and 1 cracked staff, and the dwarven ringmail tunic, and about 2 platinum in copper/silver. People give him crap because their trying to get him to talk, and that crap adds up over time.... corse once you kill him faction would proubably be a bear to get back up again, and if your like me, you REALLY need all the faction you can get.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 17 2001 at 5:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you kill him and want to regain the faction you should first do the mail quest in the bard guild in kelethin a few times to raise faction with felwithe gaurds. I got from dubious to amiable with my bard. Next do the super easy Emerald Warriors quest in Kelethin. Bring a spiderling eye, bat fur, bone chips, and a ruined wolf pelt to the warrior gm a few times and that's it.

I got so pissed because i was not in the mude to kick krush's *** again so i killed him then i had to wait for sometime for him to respawn so i can do the quest:(
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 04 2001 at 8:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) would it make ur faction with the elven preist better if u didnt kill orcs, cause if so, my faction must really suck cause i love to kill almost anything especially orcs

I was harvesting slaves for faction and meat (troll SK 17th) and no matter how many times I killed this guy (and I had to have done so atleast two dozen times) he didn't drop anything.

He will heal the mobs around him though, so if the faction isn't a problem for you, then by all means kill him first.

Or you could just pull the orcs away from the house so he can't heal them. O.o

He is in the hut behind the caves in CB. From the main enterance, take a left, cross the river, follow the wall on the left (over the hill) until you come to a building. He should be inside o the left...
Can I get the Prayer cloth of tunare from him?

#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 18 2001 at 11:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes, he gives you the Prayer Cloth after your give him the bracer. You have to give it back to him with the Mace you get from the Dwarven Smith to get the Screaming Mace

Could a dark elf cleric do this quest? I doubt faction would be high enough with a high elf priest, but...

Well, if anyone knows it would be a big help. ;) Thanks.

Well, I am a Darkelf Necromantress (worship Innoruuk) and the priest started out dubiously with me. I don't know if the faction would be enough, never tried it yet, but i will do so and post my experience :)

The Elven Priest was never talking to me, just insulting me. The other day i went back to Freeport and gave 1400 Muffins to Pandos. Back in CB i checked my faction, he conned warmly to me! Still i did not try the quest since i am too low level to kill the warlord.
BTW: Even if i worship Innoruuk i have high enough faction to do the quest.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 10:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have no idea how he dropped the tunic, maybe a glitch
#Anonymous, Posted: May 17 2001 at 6:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you have ever sold a no drop item, you would know how he got it. If someone an NPC something, you can kill them and get it back. This only works very quickly after you kill them.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 10:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) After someone does the Screaming Mace quest, he drops the Dwarven Ringmail Tunic. I was doing the quest and he put on the tunic ( you can tell because he has metal on his chest) I killed him and got my tunic back!

Ehehe, such a liar back then. I remember posting this 4 years ago... ahh the good old days of newbhood. I never did this quest, never felt like waiting on a BoB or whatever, permacamped back then. He really did drop this for me, helped me get some pieces of banded armor, heh.

Wait a min.. 4 years and only level 54?! eh...

On another note, after many slayings of the slaves and Retlon Brencelog in my newbie days, I had really crappy faction and had to turn in a buttload of bat wings to do my Epic.

#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 29 2000 at 6:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a High Elven (female) cleric who accidentally caught the Elven Priest in an AoE spell behind the house where he resides in Crushbone. He aggroed on me and so, unknowing, I killed him. This one act took me from an "amiable" con to a "glowers dubiously" con in my guild (Clerics of Tunare) in Felwithe. Eeeeesh! I am 29th now and still have not been able to get enough good faction to correct it to even "indifferent".
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 07 2001 at 8:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have the same problem. I have been tricked to killing my own kind (elf). and now I cant buy anything from felwithe. (big tragidy)spells or anything. Now getting my factions back to nutrual is HELL!!!!
Loot?

If you kill the worthless elven priest does he drop the cloth of tunare. These things have a fast respawn rate. I might have to try it later. Besides, it's fun to listen to elves squeal. ')
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2000 at 10:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No he does drop the dwarven tunic sometimes, though

uh I dunno about banded bracers but I KNOW that if you give the priest in CB the BOB(bracer of battle) you'll get the prayer cloth. then you give him the dwarven mace(that you got from the smith for giving him the dwarven ringmail from Crush himself) and the prayer cloth and he'll hand over a Screaming Mace
