Since the release of Seeds of Destruction, The PLane of Time is accessible by
everyone (you don't need SoD), but the Herald of Druzzil Ro in PoK will send
you to PLane of Time by clicking on him and typing "time".
You don't need flags or keys to get in. I was even able to get the air trial
raid (by myself with no keys). I was just exploring and died as soon as I did,
but Time is open like the PoK now.
It's also a way to enter SoD zone The Void. Once you enter Plane of Time, go
left and click on glowing hovering light. From The Void, you can enter other
Seeds of Destruction zones.

I honestly think that Plane of Time is useless, the max HP on an item is 210Hp and the max mana is like 225. With a lil bit of work you can easily get something that has 500mana/Hp. I know if your lower lvl you cannot wear it, but dwerium is around plane of time. It is easy to buy better then Time. If i were soe I would just open up time to everyone(after the fableds)
# Mar 20 2008 at 8:22 AM Rating: Decent
most people are time keyed it doesnt seem very tuff to get a key for time now, set up a pick up raid and you get a few keys to drop in phase 3(I forget how many used to drop) especially now with fabled mobs i'm sure alot of people would be interested in going in there
How many?
# Sep 10 2006 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
Now that everyone seems to be time geared, GoD geared, Anguish geared, etc.. what is minimum amount of players required to clear time? What about a raid which is composed of members with only pieces of time+ gear and mainly bazaar gear?
How many?
# Dec 03 2006 at 3:58 PM Rating: Decent
My guild does time pretty regularly with around 15 - 20 people. Some have a few pieces of anguish gear, others are time geared, and some are pretty much just bazaar twink. The biggest problem you'll run into like that is beating the timers.

Caster vs. Quarm
# Feb 21 2005 at 3:21 PM Rating: Decent
The issue that would prevent a caster from tanking Quarm isn't hit points, but mitigation and avoidance.

Melee classes have higher innate ratings in damage mitigation and avoidance, so a tank with X hit points is always going to be able to tank much better than a pure caster with the exact same hit points, even if the caster has the same AC value.

RE: Caster vs. Quarm
# Mar 27 2005 at 3:46 PM Rating: Decent
I tanked quarm the first time with 8khp unbuffed at level 65, as a warrior.

apostate has 14k buffed, at level 70, as a cleric.

I see no reason why a caster can't tank quarm.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 27 2005 at 10:07 PM, Rating: Unrated, (Expand Post) Then, as a warrior, you should know that HP is only one, and indeed a secondary, tanking stat. AC is important. Also, factor in you likely used defensive discs, aye? Clerics don't get that. Also harder to hold aggro, etc.

doesn't change the fact that if apostate could hold aggro, he could easily tank quarm. I had maybe 3% shielding and no AV, he has both maxed or near maxed. add five levels and better blast heals to that...

Cleric ac softcap with an 80 ac shield is ~ 1100. That's a lot of max hits. Add to that the fact that there is no viable way to keep aggro (and the fact that by this point they've probably put points into subtlety) as per lack of taunt and the long cast times of cleric stuns, I just don't see it happening. With a lot of avoidance/shielding gear he could probably survive, but I imagine quarm would run off to eat the dps classes after a moment or two.

That's all fine and well, but clerics can and indeed have tanked Quarm. The entire reason GoD was so rushed, in fact, was a clamour for new raiding content started when FoH showed off by having first a shadowknight, then a paladin, then a monk, then a cleric all successfully tank Quarm. This was back when Time was the be all and end all of EQ.

More than just HP/AC and shielding crap, melee get defensive skills like riposte and parry. Those make it quite a bit easier for a tank than it would be for say a cleric with similar stats.

Showing off or not, anyone can tank anything with enough heals, provided they aren't going to get one rounded.

That would be something, but our casters have about the same ammount of hp that us warriors had when we first killed quarm but im sure there ac isnt as good bit still=p Quarm is soooo trivial to my guild, only reason we still kill potime is for the 40-50 upgrades every time we go=p

general PoTime question

whenever somebody gets flagged for the Plane of Time they take a screen shot in front of the giant clock

I dinged 46 for the first time today and went exploring in the Plane of Tranquility. I was told by a friend that the zone in's for the flagged planes are not even visible until you are flagged for them. Ie: you dont actually see the entrance to the Plane of Time until you are Time flagged.

But when I was exploring the Plane of Tranquility I saw the zone in's for every plane including the Plane of Time.

My question is, where the hell is this giant clock I keep seeing in every "Looky looky, we got time flagged" picture, such as the one below

RE: Plane of Time Clock
# Dec 29 2004 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
the giant clock you're talking about is actually INSIDE the Plane of Time. you have to zone in to be able to see it.

No.. The actual clock in that picture is in the Plane of Innovation. You need to have already made the Quintessence of Elements, and talked with the Librarian in POK. You go into the Factory, and make a left and talk to Muon or whatever his name is. He ports you to this special area that you see in that picture. Clicking on the clock in that picture get's you the flag for time, and your final charm upgrade if you've already got the other 9. If not, then it just gives you the charm upgrade and 1 AA depending on if you've maxxed that out yet.

Phase 4 you click up to once phase 3 is cleared phase 3 is kinda like an island. If you look at the picture of Avatar of Elements there is a portal, that is to phase 4. Phase 4 is basically a big room with 3 sections off of it one has Terris Thule, one has Saryrn, one has Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek. Phase 5 is built kind of like that except for its 4 Sections, Bertox Inny Rallos CT and there are trash mobs infront of each god.

Stupid question?
# Sep 22 2004 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
I was wondering if it was possible for a lv 46 to be Time flagged? Cause if you were perhaps an alt in a time guild of like all your best friends and they wnated to get a 46 time flagged for kicks, you would be able to do lots of Flags to get into bigger zones so when you get to that zone you get that flag and etc. So seeing as how every flag usually takes you somewhere regardless of level I'm thinkin it IS possible just rarely done.. and rarely seen :D.

The dieties have shaped Norrath, both raised and destroyed entire civilizations, and one even scarred the face of a continent with her feet on a mere pass.
So, my question is that, if the dieties are so powerful that they can cast spells that plague entire civilazations, such as the now geomancers of Ro's desert, and utter destroy from the confines of their own planes.. how are they mortal to several groups of players?
If their consciousnesses are so vast and full, why do they lead themselves wide open for things that will obviously happen, and why do they engage in petty fueds when they are more intellegent than every creature on Norrath combined many fold over?

I've been a patron of EQ since the beginning, so don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to hell with the game or anything of the sort. The story line.. has just.. degraded so far.
Like the mudidite invasion? Ha! Veeshan can fly by Norrath and run her claws through their entire continent, killing them all completely effortlessly. Though these creatures are supposed to cause unparrelled destruction that not even the gods could halt? The lesser Fire diety condemned an ancient Elven race of great power to destruction with a curse that was holding back in order for the other gods not to even take full notice. The Ssra's gods destroyed their great race very quickly with a little plague, and those gods are so minor that they aren't even known!

Oh, and, btw.. for all of those planning to be level 70 soon.. how many gods are going to be your level?
We can't even chop down trees or make snow angels in the ground, yet creatures that several groups of us are supposed to be able to take down can rip Norrath apart with little effort.

I just wish the game were in proportion..
and that Sony hadn't made the veap to the homes of the gods so quickly.

Give Norrathians some credit. Sure, the gods created us, but they didn't raise our civilizations, we did that on our own. Your view is askew.

First of all, the geomancers of Ro weren't plagued by the gods, they were plagued by enemy necromancers, so what's the problem in that? My necro could plague you if you bothered him, doesn't mean he's a god.

Then about the destruction of the Eldarr forest (now the desert of Ro). It wasn't an entirely powerful act to destroy the forest, all he did was stop the river from flowing, I'm sure the gnomes could do the same with a clever dam. Forest destruction isn't difficult, ask any environmentalist... or anyone who's killed a treant >:)

EQ was obviously trying to make the environment of the game more endelving by making the gods flawed (much the way most ancient mythologies did... and EQ is in an ancient setting).

Reading between the lines might tell you that the Shissar (Ssra, as you called them) came about an unknown disease that nearly wiped them out. Like you said, nobody ever mentions their minor gods, so it's entirely possible their gods had nothing to do with their death. They had many iksar slaves but the iksar were not effected by the plague... and they can only survive in an airless environment. So it's an aire-borne, mono-species curse... medical practice is probably out of date in kunark but that sounds like a disease to me (the black plague in medieval europe was also thought to be a curse).

Anyways, my point is that there is nothing wrong with the proportion of the gods. I had to rebute your points to prove that maybe the gods are not as powerful as you think... they never were. Unless you know of someone who can solo a god, nobody in Norrath is stronger than the gods, as it should be. But get enough of them together and they can take the gods down, because the gods are not all powerful.

You made a few referances to Veeshan in your post... yes, she can rip a hole in velius. Veeshan is huge and VERY strong... but sony even admits that the other gods could not overpower her. Have you ever seen Veeshan in game? I bet she's a tough cookie that could take you out with one swipe... just like she did to velious. She wont bother doing so to the muddites because she is an enemy of the other gods. Until someone has killed Veeshan, EQ remains in proportion. The gods are stronger than the Norrathians but they are not the christian version of a god, they cant snap their fingers and make anything happen, they are reasonably powerful.

Solo a god, you have godlike power. Otherwise god > you = proportion

Aye, the EQ pantheon is very much akin to their Greek and Roman mytholological counterparts.

Although one thing the EQ lore lacks over most others is the fatherlike allmighty god (Zeus, Odin, etc) and instead opts for the Nameless and Veeshan to be the most powerful, and carriers of the creation story alongside the lesser gods.

I do enjoy the EQ mythos, though some of the more recent storylines Sony has spewed out leave something to be desired. Verant did an excellent job with the original game, and Kunark and Velious. Very deep, well-written plots that you cared about. I really got into the old Iksar storylines, about their slavery at the hands of the Shissar, the Greenmist plague, all the emperors they had, and the fall of Sebilis at the hands (claws?) of Trakanon.

Now the plot is just filler stuff to read as you wait for your rez or sit LFG for 4 hours.

Sony_StoryWriter01: Hey guys, I got a wicked idea. Some big threat comes along that could kick the last expansion's boss' ***.
Sony_StoryWriter02: I love it! And, we could really pump it up by talking about how all Norrathians must band together!
SSW01: Yeah! And we can add a couple new features we've had ready to add since 2001, pretend to balance the classes a bit through nearly useless AA skills.
SSW02: It's a revolutionary concept! Never done before!

The only reason there is alot of lag in pok is the amount of people in the zone. Plane of tranquility isnt anywhere near as bad as pok and most of the higher up zones have VERY little lag because there are fewer people in them. Some lag is attributed to the zones graphics but for the most part lag is because of the number of players in the zone.

Noticed ya didnt start on pinning til P-5 stuff. I can only imagine how long it took u guys to kill the zek brothers.

The clif you see them jumping from is from the P2 to the P3 area. If you jump out to far in this area you will agro P3 mobs before you are ready for them and most likely cause a wipe or at least a train to camp. Theres lava beneath ya to help the fall, and the best way to keep from agroing mobs below is to BACK UP to the cliff and fall straight down then swim up to the wall.

With the new expansion coming out, and the introduction of EQ2, along with the lvl increases to 75. Would there be any real need to even try and progress to the time plane?
RE: Flags
# Aug 08 2004 at 2:20 AM Rating: Default
Yes. If you can't get into Time, you won't be able to take down the harder content in the GoD expansion, much less anything they come up with later on.

Level increase to 75? I heard 70.

EQ2 is an entirely different game from regular EQ. EQ2 coming out is irrelevant to progression in EQ, unless you're planning on quitting regular EQ to play EQ2.
RE: Flags
# Aug 21 2004 at 2:00 AM Rating: Default
Thanks. Your right about the level increases to 70. Typing to fast, and thinking to slow I guess.
I just figured that with the heirloom system for Eq2, and the new expansion Omens coming out. Who will even have time to spend on plane progression, or atleast who will even bother with it. Unless, there will be some requirement
that forces you to do plane progression before
accessing the full resources of omens, or aquiring character heirlooms for eq2.

Brell resides in the plane of underfoot, behind the huge seal in The Hole, guarded by the Guardian of the Seal. While the guardian is a putz to kill, nobody has access to the plane of underfoot.

There are many gods that have not been introduced to EQ for one reason or another. Take Veeshan for example. The entitiy of Veeshan is widely known to have created *The Scars of Velious* with her claws. Imagine how huge she is! How do you fit her in the game? Quellios is said to *be* the plane of tranquility. Her very essence is what created that plane and that Quellios is a very neutral party to the occurences on Norrath and in the planes.
Prexus, Brells Serilis, The Nameless , Veeshan , im sure are not there for a reason. Besides , if these entities were put there, then hell , why arent ALL planar entities in time? Like a beefed up Cornaiv encounter (even tho its a PITA as it is ) or another Rathe council. I would imagine that when you get past all this , to the end content of PoP , as stated above , the storyline suits the zone and its entities.
Anyway - gotta leave someone for us to beat on in EQ2 i
Altho they coulda thrown Mayong Mistmoore in Time :P Hes not a god , but his powers were supposed to be unsurpassed on Norrath.
