Drop rate severely nerfed!
# Sep 20 2005 at 1:32 PM Rating: Decent
Since the patch earlier this summer that turned Time into a fully instanced, zone, this weapon has not dropped once single time. This is with weekly Time raids, so while it's possible that the Dagger has had its drop rate upped into the extremely rare category, it's looking more and more as though it simply no longer drops in game.

A shame if true, as this is still a very nice weapon, especially for DPS classes/toons that would like a little help in controlling their aggro.

Would be curious to hear if anyone has had one drop in the past 3 months or so during a Time raid. While outclassed by newer weapons, this is still very much a weapon worth having for folks who can't get their hands on epic 1.5/GoD weapons, etc.

Ok if this rots on Maelin Starpyre, oh please pretty please shoot me a tell, Toon is Hedena! I would drool for something like this right now i'm wielding the dart of immobility and it is huge aggro... Help a lowly rogue out! :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 19 2004 at 1:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Do you have any idea where this drops at?
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 08 2004 at 12:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) /Cough there is a reason alot of people want piercers, think about its nubbies, craggbeast queen can ONLY be hit with PIERCING WEAPONS, making this desirable for some, thus all the uber piercing weapons shouldnt be just rogue only, GoD has introduced a need for weapons of all types
cold damage

Dmg on poker for backstab....
# Jul 22 2003 at 3:13 AM Rating: Default
well with a 17 damage poker at lvl 65 my max backstab is 703, with a 15 damage poker it's 613 or 614...so every damage adds about 45 damage to your natural backstab is my guess...

so if you actually land a 20/20 backstab...the damage max would PROBABLY be around 838 or so...non crit...which would make the max disc 1676...and the max crit during disc somewhere approaching 3k...

EDIT: Guildie made me take out a part of this when I actually DID get aDoD :P And my crits are right at 3k :)Prolly capable of a lil more than it! :D

If you are not a rogue, and want this....keep dreaming. Only a rogue deserves to don this

he posted when this weapon was new, may 28th was when guilds started breaking into time (right?) and quarm was thought to be some kind of challenge (heh), yeah, now, almost a year later of heavy farming, it's common as hell if you're in time, drops were kinda like vt on speed =T

LoL I am a ranger with this dagger and the only reason I have it is because no one else wanted it and I was in need of a decent weapon. noob =p

Decent enough piercer coming out of PoT. Great rogue weapon. I doubt a warrior will want it with a hate reducer.

Your thinking is outdated friend. Incase you haven't noticed, the trend in the higher tiers of PoP is weapons that are desireable and useable by multiple classes. For instance several weapons have instrument mods to make bards happy, yet they are useable by nearly all melee classes. So some are clearly geared with certain classes in mind, but the flexibility is a great boon to have.

Nobody likes it when items you just worked hard to get end up rotting. For all the problems that PoP has created, at least they started to get this right.
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 30 2003 at 12:28 AM Rating: Default
He's somewhat right, I bet in 90% of the drops (initially) of these it will end up in a rogues hands. Nobody would be willing to spend as much dkp for them as a rogue as there are very comparable 1hs and 1hb weapons in time that surpass this even. Ancient Mace, Primordial sword(yes i know rathe but close to time), that 20/20 1hs, etc etc.
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 28 2003 at 2:15 AM Rating: Default
proc also makes it a good wep for a bard but a bard that can go to pot should already have better
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 27 2003 at 11:46 PM Rating: Decent
Well with this dropping off of the first round (I'm assuming) of beefed up deities I'd say that it wouldn't take long to get all of your main rogues equipped with this sumbitch. You let them all rot afterwards...I think not. That's like putting warrior only on a sweet one hand slash or one hand blunt on a sweet monk weapon, just because it's a dagger doesn't mean everyone who gets this won't probably already have an ifir or necissarily be a rogue for that matter.
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 28 2003 at 4:20 AM Rating: Decent
Well, just the same...Warriors would have little use for this, considering their relatively low Piercing cap and the proc.
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 28 2003 at 6:35 AM Rating: Default
"considering their relatively low Piercing cap "

Umm warriors piercing maxes at 240, that is only 10 pts below the norm for all his other skills. It is also 10pts below a rogues piercing skill. That is not "relatively low" as you put it...

RE: Mmmmmmmm
# May 28 2003 at 7:28 AM Rating: Good
You don't realize the ATK and damage dealing capabilities lost with that "not relatively low" 10 less piercing skill. It makes a big difference.
RE: Mmmmmmmm
# Jun 04 2003 at 7:00 AM Rating: Decent
I would have to agree with Gumm and Nas. 10 skill points is like the difference between lvl 63 and 65 as far as attack rating goes. If you really don't think there is a difference, make a rogue parse yourself at 50 and then again at 52, and tell us what you numbers you get. Make sure you have 10 skill points between the 2 just to make the test fair. I am pretty sure you will find a difference of around 10 DPS which may not seem like a lot but in the end game every little bit counts.

People also forget that weapon skill also effects your hit percentage. The 240 skill isn't a huge factor but it still does have an impact on lowering the attack rating along with a slightly lower hit percentage. Every 10 skill difference is worth about 1% hit rate so instead of hitting for 59.5-60%, with a 240 skill it drops to 58.5-59%.

If you're in a DKP guild, most of your non-rogue guildmates won't bother to use their points on this weapon and will allow rogues to get first shot at it. Once it begins to trickle down you may find other classes going for it. In a loot distribution system, I don't see any officer awarding this to any non-rogue class when it'd be an upgrade to a rogue.

Debates here on Allakhazam is futile, gotta love reading responses "omg this is a ranger item, look at the dex and wis!"
