Albeit true that shaman get Time's Athesis, it is in fact a rare drop to obtain. I have been in the PoT zone for many many months now, and I am still in line under a shaman or two for the spear.
HOWEVER!!! There is hope. This hammer, I obtained this month and fellow Shammies it is UBER. The 750 proc seems to be a bit light, but given any normal combat, you should see it proc 1 to 3 times with the chance to crit at 1500. The ratio is golden, 30/30. Using a 40-41% haste and self haste you will find yourself Wacking with furvor. I also added a Guard 3 augment to my hammer to give a balance of offence and defence.
But it gets better!~ The focus effect allows your dots, slows, malos all to stick on mobs longer. This generally gives 2 more ticks on poisons and close to 5 more ticks on disease based dots.
So if you are one to enjoy the spell haste on slows, and are having a hard time with getting your spear, look no further than this hammer. It makes meleeing as a priest HELLA fun.
mm im pretty sure a ranger could beat a warrior in a duel. with their low cast time nukes, aa snare, and bowing it'd be easy to kite. also, most rangers have a higher dps then warriors, since warriors should be more concious in getting aggro proccing weaps (IE BoC) and rangers go for the damage

Any warrior with Time armor/weapons would/should get wiped by a Time equiped shaman easy. First they shouldn't be able to hit you most the time. Slow his *** root him and if you get resisted MALOS his *** right off the bat. Send in your pet and if you are in PoTime you should have spirit caller by then use that also. Then just use your rain nuke and dots. Even if root does come off most likly he is trying to kill those annoying pets and wont notice right away but you do so root him again. Then you have one dead warrior. Never loose to a warrior! thats like a Warrior lossing to a Ranger lol. Just shouldnt happen! Oh and if a shaman has played long enough to get to PoTime im willing to bet they have worked there melee skills quite a bit and if you are going from only self buffs and such shamans have Freign Avatar witch will make them hit pretty hard them sleves and with a ratio of 30/30 with a 750dd that is hitting pretty hard. I have a weapon that is just like 20/30 maybe a little different then that but i hit for 50 to 110 easy with Freign Avatar on and that is my 1hb not even close to maxed on skill yet. And shamans also get CA and lightning reflex witch alows them to avoid alot of those hits atleast enought to get him rooted back away and slow and get those pets on him lol.
He thinks that melee will be missing him constantly while he just lands spell after spell... wrong.
If your in an arena summon a mount, get a damage shield up, preferably a couple, get your back to the wall and chain Q / tnarg's. Try to melee for what its worth. I would have a dispell loaded and get him dispelled first, then put malos on. After that if he ever backs up out of melee range you could try to cast on him but thats really not an efficient use of mana considering the massive resists you will be getting.
You would need to land root to win I think. Other than that the best you could hope for would be a stalemate.
Time melees will have well over 250 in every single resist, this means you can't land a single spell but unresistable or very lure ones. A shaman has neither, he will have like 1% chance to land his slows if he manages to malosinia the warrior while this one proceeds to rape his ***.
In fact, during duels, PoTime casters can't do **** against PoTime melee. a caster can't resist 100% of the melee hits you know
actually being a time equipped shaman myself standing next to about half of our warriors in pvp combat, they would smoke the **** out of me no questions asked. First off, the only meleee combat that would have a slight chance of landing is the proc (assuming you got this over the TA) and that's not going to cover the massive dmg that he's doing to you every time he swings. There's about a 5% chance that you'll ever be able to land slow (magic or dis based, their resists, especially in a Time guild, should be especially high). Add in the time it takes to cast any spell, and I guarantee that you'll not be able to get off most spells. I sat there and chain casted everything in my bag vs my guilds best warrior, and I think that I managed to get about one spell in 20 on him even after malos.
I fought him once in a pvp fight, and he smoked me hardcore. The shamans pets aren't going to do jack to him and he will tear through them pretty easily. Hell, he once sat down, turned around, and I took over a minute to even manage to land a hit on him with my weapon (Dark mace of thought).
Basically, a similiar time equipped warrior should have an advantage over a time equipped shaman. Each different class stacks up better against another. Without being able to slow him (and no, you aren't going to get a root off on him period), you are just a sitting duck.

Nope, I'd say the warrior wins if they're equally equipped. Any warrior coming out of PoT will have equal damage output and higher, regardless of 750 damage proc. He can prolly hit for 200 with any 20+ damage weapon, and most of the weapons there ARE 20+ damage, so within a few seconds, you have one dead shaman.

Not necessarily discarded...if they're very useful (like the Cleric, Druid, and Shaman epics, coincidentally) you simply have them bagged...bring them out for the click, then get your stat weapon out.
