Hey guys, I'm Orche Stra, I posted the screenshot a couple weeks back.

To clear things up, it's 4% damage mitigation, I love them because I'm a main puller for my guild (Bard) and it's nice to have some mitigation on those 3-4k hitters so you survive getting back to camp.

I was told these are very common, but after about 10-15 Time Clears we've only seen 2-3 of them? maybe 4.

the 4 percent is in fact a modifer for the dammage taken. Tryed and proven, dont mean a whole lot to thoes that get the occasional hit for 2k even but for a tank that is taking 3 - 4k hits it makes a huge differance. And yes shielding effects form other items stack no idea on a cap.

Shielding, Spell Shield, Strike Through, basically all mods with a % attached are capped at 35%.

Avoidance, combat effects, and all the skills that are just a mod "Factor" with no % attached are yet to have their cap determined, if there is one at all. The common guess so far for their cap is around 60.

Anyone think that perhaps its for Warriors little used /shield command ? I have noticed that when I /shield the groups chanter some hits escape my shielding and still hit her. Perhaps this boosts the effectiveness of it? Just a thought....

almost put raex to shame? i'd take these over raex, anyone who can get raex most likely has maxxed sta (and close to max str if not maxxed), 210hp owns raex and the saves are nice, and if shielding is a damage obsorber for 4% of hits (i guess??) its better than the effect on raex
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 27 2003 at 2:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Increase Hit Points (HP) by 4

well the 4 regen wont help that much (still a bonus) at 65, its a toss-up between the 40 atk and 4% absorb, but for warriors i would have to say 4%, 40 atk is cool but most warriors go for hate raising procs (enraging blow etc) over DPS anyway. A hit for 500 will be 480 with this, 4 regen would take 5 ticks (30 seconds) for that to make any difference and in 30 seconds you would be hit about 60+ more times.

If this is a 4% increase to mitigation, then any high end warrior would take it over a +400 attack, let alone a +40 attack. Warriors at this stage of the game will almost certainly have capped worn attack (250). The regen isnt even worth considering, again there is a cap to worn regen (I believe its 35), and it really isnt worth much.

Not sure what the shielding does, but if its actually a 4% increase in mitigation then its an incredibily powerful effect.
