I have not been to the afterlife page, but the single largest arguement I have to counter the claims of those in Afterlife is in the picture above. The mod is 4%, not 4. So if a mob cast a 1k nuke on me, and I was wearing that, 40 points of damage would not be recieved, with a maximum of 250 points (25%) being absorbed due to stacking. Just my thoughts on it. If it gave max of 25dd absorbtion, thats not going to affect a PoTime raid too much, 250 may.

As per the Afterlife web page, the effect of the "Spell Shield +25" has been confirmed ... it absorbs 25 points of damage from all magical attacks (much like a small, permanent spellshield effect - hence the name).

Indeed Spell Shield does reduce spell damage by 25, however not for "all" spells. It doesn't seem to protect me from items like mod rod, manastone, etc. But, it does lower the amount of damage I take from npc AE spells, and the like. Will still need to test in PvP alittle to determine the full extent of its limits.

Pretty sure it would add 25 extra to Rune-type spells, not be a permanent 25dmg rune.

I only just got these the other day, but they didn't seem to act as a permenant spell damage reduction to me. Perhaps they have limitations that I have not yet identified, but they didn't seem to absorb any spell damage. I'll test Branaddar's idea next.

it IS a *permanent* reduction to spell damage.

Reduction to overrall spell dmg, whether it be AE, single targetted nukes - NPC spell dmg. Spell shield probably will not work and never will work for manastone, mana robe, and mod rods for obvious reasons.
