The Plane of Storms is a land of enormous forests, great mountains, scoured deserts, and stormy lakes. The realm is the manifestation of the will of Karana, the Rainkeeper, who resides in his Bastion of Thunder atop Mount Grenidor, which sits in the middle of a vast expanse of open wilderness. Jagged and impassable ridges extend from Mount Grenidor, dividing the land into three areas. Tribes of Storm Giants call this land home.

To one side of Grenidor is Krendic, the Desert of Chaos. It is a sea of hard, dark brown stone polished smooth by wind-blown sand. To another side is Renidar, the Forest of Tears. Massive trees grow here and travel is made via their huge branches. Above and below, the trees seem to extend indefinitely, disappearing into a haze of fog.

Then there are the plains. Large rivers flow down the mountain and across the plains to empty into a large lake along the southwest border. Shipwrecks can be seen on the southern shore. Some smaller lakes have formed where water has collected on its journey to the southwest.

Level 55 is required to enter the zone without a key on the live servers.

I've just completed the BoT flag for this zone. Something that hasn't been said of this place is that this is an effective place to farm tradeskill items, specifically poison making supplies and Rhenium Ore. Probably not as effective as HoH but certainly doable. Etheral Parchments also drop here with relative frequency.

Well, since you are lvl 38, you will need to gain a minimum of 8 lvls to become plane capable, then you need to either complete a PoJ trial (which at lvl 46 is very unlikely) or wait until lvl 55. Entrance is in PoTranquility by clicking on the big rock the looks like it is in a belljar made of water.

Ocean giants, feign death proc

The ocean giants (to the west of the zone in) have a feign death proc. If it hits you, your autoattack will turn off and you will fall down, just like monk or necro FD. To recover, stand up and start attacking again.

I don't think the other two giant camps (desert, forest) have this proc, just the ocean giants.

Spawn time on Minii's?
# Jan 29 2004 at 1:57 PM Rating: Decent
Whats the spawn time on the mini's , have looked around but can't seem to find the info. Would like to get my guild flagged for BoT but being a beastlord I can not track so no way for me to keep up on spawn timers :0( Guild can put together 1 group 65 , 1 group 62+ , and anouther 55+. From the info I have this should be enought to take out the minis but trying to gather my infor on them before we go and get whiped trying to learn the easy stuff and peeps get bored on CR. So here are the questions?

Are mini's on a set spawn timer or are there PH's?
Where do the mini's spawn? completly surronded by giants or can they be pulled to an out of the way spot?

Thanks for any help much appriciated. :0)

Prolly not. Most groups look for at least 57 or 58. The successful groups I've been in here have had 60+ tanks (usually pali or sk)...warriors have a hard time holding aggro off of a rogue of same level, even now.

Really depends on your gear.

With a full set of fierce heraldic, or helanic tundra armor, decent aggro weapons like Copper Hammer of Striking, and Sword of the Bloodsworn (or better), plus a virtue and FoSouls you could tank here fine. My 55 warrior tanks the armadillo camp with ease, and has tanked OC and EW/WW in poV as well. Frog cave on the other hand, is too tough, unless you've got a real good healer, and a fast slower.

On the other hand, if you have less hp and ac, like thurg quest armor (champions) this would be real tough at 55.
POS charm kiting
# Aug 06 2003 at 6:22 AM Rating: Decent
Ive found this place to be the best solo xp and its dead easy too(this is intended for druids but I dont see why chanters cant do it).

Goto the forrest area (first underwater tunnel) go charm a frog (pull with GoT) the 2 types of frogs in this area the Hurricane (Rgoues) & Typhoon (warriors) do not summon and are level 60 (so you'll need to be lvl 63 and have command of tunare), ok you have 2 options here .. you can either just kill all the other frogs, best way is to dont buff pet break charm b4 either dies and kill both OR buff up you pet with everything you have and bring 2 cheap proccing weapons along (or mage summoned pet items) and you'll se able to slaughter any of the local wildlife... to start off with just try frogs belegured ents and storm bears these DO NOT summon the latter 2 tend to be druids or warriors, if your feeling lucky and have a pet that doesn't break charm too often try your luck with the summoners.

A safer way to kill the summoners is to group with another druid (or chanter) with 2 frogs attacking when your charm breaks you wont get summoned quickly re-charm it and send it back in (hoping your partners charm doens't break also) or if you want to play it really safe both gate.

Everything in this area is on a 20-30mins spawn time so it does take a bit of patience, this puts off a lot of people and every group I have seen fighting the widelife has wiped and/or moved on very quickly, but the xp is worth it say you just cycle the frogs all of them totals to about 8% reg xp at level 64 you can kill all of them in 10 mins (how long does it take you to get 8% in a group ?) then just go away and do somthing else till they respawn, easy xp while your /lfg.

I hate this zone
# Jul 07 2003 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent
This zone sucks. I have been there 3 times and all of them ended miserable.

First time did desert. Monk pulled 3 and didn't see adds (those snakes blend in with the scenery). Anyway, he was told add just in time to FD at camp. Blah, half camp wiped.

Second time, did the forest with frogs. Lotsa frog adds and the giants we were trying to hunt couldnt be split by monk. He ended up dying in middle of them and our shaman tried to get his corpse and died too.

Third time, desert again. Second pull got two adds that SK did not see. Tried to run for zone and had summoning mobs this time. Half party wipe.

Anyway, if you go into this zone, have some high level chanter for crowd control.

Love for this zone

This is one of my favorite zones. Im a 55 monk and grouping with 60+ Necros or Wizzies, makes this zone insane experience. They kite your enemy while you ride them and kill them. Best place to do this is the ent. frogs.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 11 2003 at 9:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, it seems thanks to the crying and whining people out there that couldn't get past the trials. Due to the new patch, anyone brave enough and has attained level 55, can now just walk in to the PoS. Like everything else, the achievers are undermined and all the hard work of questing and raiding tossed out, and now anyone with a sword and 55+ can now swarm the PoS, PoV and few other zones that were exclusive to people that survived at least one of the PoJ trials.
RE: NEW PATCH!
# Jul 26 2004 at 11:05 AM Rating: Decent
Not everyone is in a guild that can handle a POJ trials. My guild is getting there and we plan to do at a minumum of one, however there are some people (me included) who are high enough to go here and get great xp. I pay my hard earned money just like everyone else seems it would be unfair to exclude me from a zone just because my group of friends isnt high enough yet to complete a trial.
RE: NEW PATCH!
# Sep 04 2008 at 11:12 PM Rating: Decent
if your guild cant handle poj trials, it must be a very very newb guild. trials are easy, even when they were new. only thing thatll wipe ya is if you take on the 7th hammer, the triggered version for monk epic. he is a tough sonofabitch.

2 charmers and a cleric can do the minis easily, (have not done myself since charm nerf). The ocean minis are easily pulled by approaching the wall the most direct route to there bind spots, and just creep close enough for the text so know have agro and run.(i never do this its a sploit). Good luck.
PoS Tactics

I have soloed the regular giants in the Forrest and Desert area and have the Head, Sash and Bone. The Seacost giants have been a problem since I cant find anyplace to get a pet and pull a giant without getting adds. Tactical suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

Tactics for the smallest possible group for the mini-bosses would also be a big help. I read someplace that a Druid, Chanter and Cleric could do it. Is this reasonable? Does the size and makeup of the group vary by area? Obviously, the Forrest area is the easiest with desert next and Seacoast the hardest.

I think if I can get a small group going in the zone killing giants and mini-bosses successfully, I would be able to get more of my more cautiouse and lower-level friends to join me.

To get a bastion of thunder flag ya need to collect the following junk, drops off bosses and regular stuff here(giants):

Storm Head
Storm beard
Sash
Bone
2 Medallions

Dont have exact name but oh well: if you are raiding here, you'll see some of this stuff.

Otherwise I think that this place could do with less rain.
