Well the sk daiku raider that wears the plate doesnt always drop anything. I have been here for 3 days now and have all but his section of the medallion. Ive killed at least 10 of the plate armor ones and Ive gotten a couple parchments and couple bricks of ee but no medallion piece.
Kind of pisses me off cuz I have killed about the same number of the other 3 classes of raiders with the chain armor and they drop their medallion pieces every time. I hate Verant lol. Glad they are gone.
I'm making this post to collect, correct, and clarify several of the posts below, as well as to add my own observations.
Diaku Raiders have 3 placeholders:
"a violent sand storm" & "a whirling rock storm" ------------------------------------------------- Snareable: Yes Casters: No Summon: Yes
AND
"a rock storm" --------------- Snareable: Yes Casters: Yes (Wizard) Summon: No
Furthermore, there are 4 different classes of Diaku:
Warrior ------------- Wears Chain Drops Bottom right quarter
Rogue ------------- Wears Chain Drops Top right quarter
Shadow Knight ------------- Wears Plate Drops Top left quarter Harm Touches for 1k Casts
Shaman ------------- Wears Chain Drops Bottom Left Casts
All Diaku are snareable, none of them summon, they do see invis and unlike other desert mobs are KOS to all.
Contrary to some of the posts below, there is no way to control which class of Diaku will pop by killing particular place holder mobs. After killing all of the "a rock storm" mobs in the desert while leaving the other PHs standing and waiting for repop, I saw violent and whirling rock storms repop in their place, as well as all 4 Diaku. All rock storms and all Diaku appear to be on the same spawn table.
I was able to acquire all 4 quarters several times over by setting up camp in the North-Western corner of the desert and pulling everything to there. Pulling can be somewhat problematic as mobs tend to temporarily forget about you if they get too far away while pulling, then remember next time they see you. Since all mobs in the desert wander all over, this can cause quite a bit of unexpected aggro. With the exception of the desert giants, all mobs will assist each other, and they can be closely packed together. Due to this, if you plan to spend much time here, I recommend that your puller periodically completely clear his/her aggro either by zoning or laying FD. Additionally, given that "a rock storm" is a Wizard mob, pulling these guys is much harder than the rest of the PHs as they tend to cast for about 20 seconds before they even begin moving towards you, giving wandering mobs plenty of time to pass by and join the fight. Stick to the violent and whirling if you can, and dragging them high up along either the east or west wall is an almost guaranteed method of avoiding adds. Being a druid, I nearly always had a either "a hurricane lorok" or "a typhoon lorok" from the forest area as a pet while camping these, which enabled me to solo this quite effectively, and pack in quite a bit of extra DPS when I was with others.
Hope this info comes in handy, and I'll see you in Tactics soon!
Great write up. Got 3 groups flagged in 3 couple-hour sessions here, thanks to your info.
The only thing that isn't correct is about the agro and camping out. Since the out-of-combat changes were added to the game, you get dropped from the mobs hate list after you are out-of-range for 30 seconds. Get out of range of them so they stop chasing you. Stay away from them for 30 seconds, and they forget about you. So as long as you dont run into their agro range again before then, you're fine. They go back to Dubious. And the cross-agro part was fixed a while ago. You no longer get those crazy random adds.
If have the fast horse, you can simply out run the agro from unwanted adds, and really quickly too. I would-out run a bad pull where just too many unwanted adds were part of the parade. Watch for the OoC timer to change to the hourglass icon. Then, just race back and wait for the right moment to grab your mob and try again. Or just go pull something else.
I didn't do any experimenting with outrunning agro with SoE, SoW, slow horse, run3 etc. to see where the threshhold was, but on a fast mount, it was easy to do and quick. The longest part seemed to be waiting on the agro clock to clear, to go tag yer mark. So no need to camp out or FD anymore if you're fast.
The first day was 1,2,3,4 in order. All four had the emblem, and there were no duplicates. Had all 4 in 90 minutes. Yay us. So we thought. We stayed another half hour, figuring to make a jump on the 2nd group's collects. We got one drop. The second evening, we get the other three, and we get our first duplicate. So we started a 3rd group, so they wouldn't rot and go to waste.
3rd night, we had a shammy dry-spell. The shaman (bottom left quarter - droppers) was the bottleneck piece on our 3rd night there. Not sure if it was just bad luck (as we killed every form of rock-monster that was up), or what. Originally we just came to flag two groups. The shaman diaku raider was the rare for us. We ended the 3rd night with 3 full sets of 4, and ended up with 3 more sets of 3. Shammy had it every time, of the 3 we saw (others seemed pretty 50/50). So maybe we just got super lucky on the emblems "being on the corpse" of shaman, and just unlucky on the respawns being a shaman.
It was a different challenge, with all the adds to steer clear of. And yes...those casters were add-bombs waiting to go off. I get one of those too far out, and I would abort the pull, lose agro, but leave it marked, and just catch it later at a different spot on its pathing route. Casters = pain = adds = more pain = nasty mess.
It was fun, and we made some EXP. Now...to go back for those last 3 shaman drops, for the 3 people holding 3-outta-4. Wish us luck.
when camping these to flag my alt wiz, I noticed some things. I did not stay to test my theory further because I disliked the camp, But I thought someone might find this information helpful or useful.
4 pieces of the talisman, 4 diaku classes- each drops different section (I didn't record which diaku dropped which piece, sorry)
they come as warrior(wears chain), rog(wears chain), shaman(only one to cast), or SK(only one to wear plate)
what I noticed killing the rocks PHers was that It seemed the different classes would Pop different diakus.
The rock classes were Rock Storm(Wizard)- seemed to pop the Shaman/SK A violent sandstorm(rogue)- Probably pops rog/warr, I killed more of the whirling which worked for me A whirling sandstorm(warrior)- popped the rog/warr diaku for me
So just remember which diaku classes you looted for your first 2 or 3 sections from and try to kill the right Rocks to get the Leftover diakus you need to pop.
Great Theory Dukelatan, using this theory, my Son (57 ranger) and myself (65 magician), were able to duo our way to the end of the quest.
You are corect, but this is extra stuff we found ...
Rock Storm --> SK Diaku (wears plate) --> drops Top Left emblem Rock Storm --> Shammy Diaku (wears Chain & casts) --> drops Bottem left emblem A Violent Sandstorm --> Rogue Diaku (wears chain & backstabs) --> Top right emblem A Whirling Rock Storm --> Warrior Diaku (wears chain) --> Bottom right emblem. Note Warrior Flurries a lot!!
I'm working on this at the moment, and I just wanted to add that the Shadowknight version of the raider DOES cast, despite what was mentioned above.
He managed to fear my warrior once, for a few seconds.
Edit: I'm not totally sure that all the info above is correct. I think the drops are correct - the 3 I have have come from the classes mentioned. However I am missing the drop from the rogue, so I started killing only the Violent Sand Storms (I was the only one in the zone). After about an hour a raider appeared on track. I found him, and he was wearing chain, but when I pulled him he started casting shaman spells.
I'm certain I didn't kill any Rock Storms, as I avoid them if I can. So I'm pretty sure the Shaman popped from a Violent Sand Storm placeholder.
Heyas. I found a way to get mobs that are stuck under the world. Im a 65 rng so track is pretty much essential. Anyways track target mob until your basically standing where they should be, i.e. track tells you they are ahead of you, you step 2 steps ahead and track says they are behind. Thene type /tar A_Diaku_Raider. Note that exact spelling is needed. You should get a target. Then cast a spell such as snare or a nuke. I have had this work for me in PoS, PoD, and other zones where mobs pop under the world. Hope it works out for ya.
On Fennin PoStorms dessert is all messed up with the mobs spawning under the world and theres no way to target them, its been that way from when they did the DX-9 patch. so it preaty much sucks to try to get this quest done.
It's messed up on Tarrew Marr, as well. They all wind up in a wall near the desert giants. We were able to PB AoE them out, but eventually they all wound up pathing back into the wall.
Problem is, you're going to wind up sacrificing a person to even do this, and it's only temporary.
Well let's see, you can either kill Behemoth (who requires 50+ people, and flag 72 (max) people, or, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GUILD, OR IF YOUR GUILD ISN'T STRONG ENOUGH FOR BEHEMOTH, there is another option, this quest, it may be a time sink yes, if you feel it is, don't do it, but if you are unable to kill Behemoth, then this is a very very nice option to use.
This is also a group flag. So it's a decent idea for officers, raid leaders, etc, to have this flag so you can port a group of non flagged members into Tactics. Just some FYI.
All group members MUST have a key for tactics. Have tried to get group in with me when I was the only one holding a key and they could not zone in, niether before for after I zoned in.
The Aid Wembly quest flags the entire group that is there when the 4 medallion pieces are turned into Wembly. It can be MQed, just make sure that the last piece handed in is turned in by the group looking to get flagged for Drunder AKA Tactics.

soloed one of these last night , I didnt let it get close enough for a HT... but was able to land root and darkness. It cast Pox and Malo , as well as chain dispelled itself.

I have been hunting in deser in storms during 5 days aprox 12 hours a day and didnt find a system to make diaku raiders spawn regulary. Anyone have any idea about make him spawns more regulary???
Afaik the flying stones are the PH for them. We killed today about 10 whirlig and violence stones in the dessert part of PoS and a Diako spawned. It was the last part we needed. The other three parts where camped also like this and within about 8 hours we had all 4 parts to do the quest.
camped them for 24 hours after another group of players decided to steel the camp when the started to spawn. from what I could tell random spawn and 4 will spawn 1 after another. I waited around with my druid one day no one else in the zone and one spawned. easy single pull but others will agro on the pull. to my dismay I ran him into the tunnel and was Doting him but he despawned (assuming from runing him into the wall of the tunnel caused that)
