NOTE: A patch on March 25, 2015, added a work-around to obtain items from Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, and Terror:

- In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule.

Furthermore, a patch on April 22, 2015, added a work-around to obtain bottleneck items from Phinigel Autropos (Kedge Keep), Gorenaire (Dreadlands), and Talendor (Skyfire Mountains).

- In Kedge Keep, a harbinger of the seas can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Phinigel Autropos.
- In Dreadlands, a harbinger of frost can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Gorenaire.
- In Skyfire Mountains, a harbinger of flame can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Talendor.

Full Walkthrough

The Warrior Epic quest begins with both Kargek Redblade and Wenden Blackhammer in East Freeport (click for map image). They can be found under a gazebo at -1300, -380 (just inside the North Ro gate).

Red Scabbard

Find Kargek Redblade in East Freeport.

You say, 'Hail, Kargek Redblade'

Kargek Redblade looks up from his forge and says, 'Hello there, can I help you?' Your eyes are drawn to an extremely large red sword scabbard strapped to his back with no sword in it. Kargek speaks again, 'I said, can I help you or do you need help from Wenden?'

You say, 'Tell me about that scabbard.'

Kargek Redblade turns to look at you and says, 'It is a family heirloom. I might tell you the story behind it if you do me a little favor.'

You say, 'What favor?'

Kargek Redblade says 'An associate of mine is wandering somewhere in the Feerrott. His name is Oknoggin Stonesmacker. If you will deliver this note to him, I would appreciate it.'

You receive a Wax Sealed Note. Take this to Oknoggin Stonesmaker in the Feerrott at 800, 1140 (by the main bridge across the river). Upon hand-in:

Oknoggin Stonesmaker snatches the note from your hand and rips it open with your large hands. 'You take dis to Kargek. He want!' Oknoggin says, as he throws a tiny lute at you.

You receive a Tiny Lute. Run back to East Freeport and give the Tiny Lute to Kargek Redblade to receive a book called Redblade's Legacy.

Kargek Redblade says 'Thank you for delivering the note to my associate. Take this book - it will tell you a little of the history of the old scabbard. If you would like to own the scabbard, seek out my younger brother Tenal and give him the book.'

You gain experience!!

Take the book over to his brother in East Karana - Tenal Redblade, who is at the very end of the canyon next to the ramp to Highpass.

You say, 'Hail, Tenal Redblade'

Tenal Redblade says 'What brings you to my home, ______? Do you seek knowledge of Rallos Zek and the great wars to come?'

Hand him the book.

Tenal Redblade says 'So, you know my brother Kargek. He is weak and does not believe the legend that our family was chosen by Rallos Zek to bear the great scabbard. Yet he still holds it. Very well, I shall give you the first test since my 'dear' brother seems to have forgotten it. Travel to the fortress where the children of Rallos were first cursed by the Rathe and bring me the heart of one of the goblins who have made it their new home. Do not return without the heart of your foe and this war totem.'

You gain experience!!

You receive a Frozen War Totem.

Go back to East Karana and hand Tenal the Totem of the Freezing War and a Heart of Frost.

Tenal Redblade says 'Very good, you have wreaked havoc on your foes in the ancient land of the giants. Rallos Zek must have guided your blade.' Tenal's voice is suddenly silenced and you feel as if your body is frozen. From Tenal's lips issues a voice that is not his own, 'Bring this mortal the scales of the children of Veeshan. The red and green as well as my war totem. I will guide your blade.' Your movement returns as Tenal falls to the ground, gasping for breath.'
You gain experience!!

He'll give you a Totem of Fiery War.

Now get yourself a Green and Red Dragonscale (from Severilous in Emerald Jungle, and Nagafen in Naggy's Lair respectively).

Go back to Tenal Redblade and give him the Totem of Fiery War, the Green Dragon Scale and the Red Dragon Scale.

Tenal Redblade looks at you oddly as you hand him the scales. 'What are..? You have done well, mortal, and you will be rewarded if you are truly brave. Travel to the Plane of Hatred and slay the ancient bard who lives there. Do not return without his hand and this mark or you will never be a true warlord.' Tenal drops to the ground as the last words leave his lips.
You gain experience!!

You receive The Mark of the Sword.

You'll now need to go to the Plane of Hate and kill the Hand of the Maestro (note: Hand is now pullable without having to kill Maestro of Rancor). You need to loot the hand, which is a rare drop. Bring that back and give it to Tenal along with the mark.

Tenal Redblade looks horrified as you give him the hand of the Maestro of Rancor and show him the mark of the sword. The godlike voice returns, 'You have done well to acquire this. One final task must be completed before you hold the red scabbard in your mortal hands.' Tenal reaches out and hands you a note. 'Take this note and a wingblade of the spiriocs to Kargek. When he receives them, I will speak to you one last time.'

You receive Tenal`s note to Kargek.

You now need a Spiroc Wingblade from the Spiroc Lord in the Plane of Sky. Take the Wingblade and the note to Kargek where he gives you the Red Scabbard and instructions on how to combine the Ancient Blade, Ancient Sword Blade, Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt, and Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt.

Kargek Redblade says 'What is this? A note from my brother? Thank you for the gift as well.' Kargek reads the note and hands you the huge sword hilt. Your mind is filled with the sound of battle and a voice. 'Place the ancient sword blade, ancient blade, finely crafted dragon head hilt and the jeweled dragon head hilt into the scabbard to receive your rewards. If you think you are worthy, place your rewards into the scabbard and see what havoc you can unleash on the world. Kargek addresses you as you turn to leave. 'One more thing. Gartrog over there has told me of a great discovery. Seems there are all sorts of stones being found in the recently discovered lost dungeons scattered around Antonica. The Wayfarer's Brotherhood has found a way to make items even more powerful by using the stones with existing items.'

You gain experience!!

Ancient Sword Blade

Talk to Denken Strongpick on Aviak Island in the Ocean of Tears.

You say, 'Hail, Denken Strongpick'

Denken Strongpick says 'Hello, ______. I am Denken Strongpick. I wish I could get off this rock, silly clan honor. My boss broke our rebreathers and we can not go back to the mainland before we gather some goblin relics.'

You say, 'What goblin relics?'

Denken Strongpick says 'There are supposedly goblin ruins around here somewhere. Fendlemend thinks we will find paydirt underwater. We did find one thing.'

You say, 'What did you find?'

Denken Strongpick says 'We found a very fine sword blade.' Denken pulls open his pack and shows you a razor sharp sword covered with runes. 'I can't figure out what type of metal it is and I sure can't figure out what technique was used to forge it. Perhaps you would like to take it off my hands and [buy] it?'

You say, 'I will buy it.'

Denken Strongpick says 'Out here, money is fairly useless to me. You see, I can't leave Fendlemend out here alone. I signed on with a very detailed contract. I could sure [use] a few things from the mainland though.'

You say, 'What could you use?'

Denken Strongpick says 'I would be willing to part with this very fine blade for; a keg of Vox tail ale, a block of permafrost to keep it cool and two new rebreathers to get this operation back underway.'

a) A Keg of Vox Tail ale - bought from alot of vendors around the world. A good place to buy one is the sandfishers in North Ro or the Freeport Port Authority.

b) A Block Of Permafrost - Dropped by Ice Giants. (while you're here, kill some goblin wizards until you find a frozen goblin heart -- you'll need it later).

c) Two Rebreathers - Tinkered by Gnomes. Expect to drop as much as 4k for getting two rebreathers.

Turn the Rebreathers, Keg of Vox Tail Ale, and the Block of Permafrost in to Denken:

Denken Strongpick says 'Excellent! Here is your sword. I feel like I'm at home already!'
You gain experience!!

You get the Ancient Sword Blade.

Ancient Blade

The Ancient Blade is dropped by the Queen of Chardok. Bring along a large group of friends.

Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt

Head to the chessboard in Timorous Deep. At the base of the King piece you'll find a Severely Damaged Dragon Head Hilt. Head back to Wenden.

You say, 'Hail, Wenden Blackhammer'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'What do you need? Be specific, I'm busy right now!'

You say, 'I have a Severely Damaged Dragon Head Hilt.'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'Where in the world did you drag that up?!' Denken peers closely at the severely damaged dragon head hilt. 'This metal is the same material that some mages use to make powerful golems and this other metal looks like rejesiam ore. If you can find some of those materials, I can fix this hilt up easily.'

You say, 'What kind of golems?'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'That metal is used as the 'soul' of powerful magical constructions like golems. I do not know any place in this world where you could find a golem with a living center as powerful as this once was.'

You say, 'What is rejesiam ore?'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'Rejesiam ore is from the lands of Kunark. The mountain giants in the frontier mountains control the only known mine of this great ore. They have built a vast fortress around the mine to protect it. The giants don't particularly like to trade with us smaller folks, but there is one old miner named Mentrax Mountainbone who has traded with me in the past. Go find him and tell him Wenden sent you.'

You'll also need a Ball of Everliving Golem. This drops from the named golems in the Plane of Fear: Fright, Dread and Terror. Since a march 2015 patch, you may also get it from a harbinger of Fear if the golems are not up.

Now go to the Dreadlands, to the giant fort just west of Karnor's Castle. You need to kill the Mountain Giant Patriarch and loot a Giant Sized Monocle. Take the Monocle to Frontier Mountains. Get to the giant fort and get inside. When you get to the very end of the Mine you will see the giant named Mentrax Mountainbone.

You say, 'Hail, Mentrax Mountainbone'

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'What be it you want! Go away before I eat you for dinner!'

You say, 'Wenden sent me.'

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'Oh, old Wenden? I guess you be wanting some ore. Well, you can't have none! Not unless you get me a new monocle. No. No. No. Don't even try to talk, you either bring me a new monocle that will fit or no ore for you!'

Hand him the Monocle.

Mentrax Mountainbone says 'Eh, you actually found one! Thank you, ______. Here is a block of ore for you. Just don't let the other giants know.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Rejesiam Ore.

Now run back to East Freeport with the Rejesiam Ore, Ball of Everliving Golem and Damaged Dragon Head Hilt. Give these to Wenden.

Wenden Blackhammer begins to work and hammer away at the hilt pounding the new material into it. You can see the metal shifting and moving in ways you have never seen metal move before. Wenden wipes his brow as he hands you a fantastic looking hilt.

You receive a Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt.

Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt

Head to Lake Rathe and pick up an Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt. It can be found on the lake floor at +2513, +920, underneath the aviak tower. Then head back to Wenden.

You say, 'Hail, Wenden Blackhammer'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'What do you need? Be specific, I'm busy right now!'

You say, 'I have an Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt.'

Wenden Blackhammer says 'That just looks like it's missing some gems. I'm not quite sure what type of gems either but I can tell you two things about them just by the settings. They were all different, and they all were very, very expensive. If I try to put the wrong kind of gems in these slots, it may be ruined forever. I'll do whatever you want, though, just bring me the three gems you want me to try and put in the hilt.'

You'll need to get a Diamond, Black Sapphire, and Jacinth. They drop in various zones (Sebilis, Planes) and can almost always be found for sale in The Bazaar.

Take the Unjeweled Dragon Head Hilt, Diamond, Jacinth, and Black Sapphire to Wenden:

Wenden Blackhammer begins to fiddle with the hilt, gently pressing the gems into place. It seems to take forever as you watch in silence. Wenden slowly places the last gem in place and gently bends the settings to hold the gems before he hands it back to you. 'That's a very impressive looking hilt there. The material it is made out of seems strangely familiar,' Wenden says as he turns back to his forge and his other work.

You receive a Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt.

Assembling the Sword

As originally instructed, place the Ancient Sword Blade, Ancient Blade, Finely Crafted Dragon Head Hilt and the Jeweled Dragon Head Hilt into the Red Scabbard to receive your rewards.

Combining the Jagged Blade of War in the Red Scabbard splits it into the Blade of Strategy and the Blade of Tactics. Combine the two blades in the Red Scabbard to get the two-handed version again.

The comments that sprouted off my heads in there asses post are hilarious. Here is an addition.

Verant: Warriors are to dumb to work any skills
Warrior: You made the skills to costly to learn
with our Int.
Verant: Its ok warrior. We want more gnomes to
work the tinkering skill and were to lazy
to fix the cost problem sooooo

We decided to add rebreathers to your
quest so that you can "sponser" the gnomes
This way we do not have to fix the skills.

Warrior's response: You do know your head from
your *** verant. Me no like you!

Verant: Ohh yeah warrior! We have not put the
second blade in the game. Hahahah
Were going to put it in now ... and you
have to sponser an enchanter to make you
10 plat/diamond rings to have embedded in
the blade.
Ohh and the blade comes off silverwing in
VP.

Warrior: Well fine I am gonna start a shaman then
Two stories, two blades

Nobody has commented on the original two stories regarding this quest. on the ramp in ek, the guy tells the story of the ogre and the sword being broken up but he also tells a story of someone crying wolf and something about kobolds. Perhaps there is a clue about the second blade in that second story

RE: Two stories, two blades
# Oct 13 2000 at 8:46 PM Rating: Default
Ok, what really confuses me about the stories though is that it *the scabbard* was handed down to generations of Ogres...so how the hell did a human get it?
RE: Two stories, two blades
# Oct 13 2000 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
Ok, where do we find kobolds? Also, I am pretty sure it was a Gnome that cried wolf. Now, where do we find Kobolds and Gnomes? Hmm... Steamfront, so possibly in the Minotaur Caves or in Akanon. Perhaps the Soluseks. Gnomes in Sol A, and the Predator (a kobold) and there are Kobolds in Sol B. Possibly something in one of these places. My guess, if this could be a real lead would be Steamfront or in Akanon.

Another thought. Rallos Zek has worshippers in Oggok and the Troll City (whatever it is) and there are kobolds in Da'Swamp outside the Troll City, but I dont know of any gnomes.

Oh, and another thing, quit the whole "stats are..." or "this quest sucks..." posts and lets start trying to use our heads. These are just some ideas off the top of my head and who knows, one of them may be right. Throw down one of your ideas and maybe it will be right.

As far as Kobolds, they are also found outside of Erudin, one of the water locations being considered as a possible hiding place of the second blade. Erudin being on Odus, a continent not yet used as any other part of this quest.

So far other parts have taken place and involved Antonica, Faydwer, Kunark and the Plains

Now now, that wasn't necessary. I am pretty sure they do know their asses from their heads. Last I heard they had a meeting to clarify that while both their asses and their heads due look the same and have a very similar function, their heads where located some distance above their asses. They are now working on getting a difinitive answer as to what that distance is. It should show up in the next patch.

I was thinkin, all of the other pieces, the 1st blade, and the 2 hilts, all have something to do with birds (Spirocs/Aviaks) and water. Has anyone searched through Kerra Isle? Maybe they tryed some reverse trick, and put the last blade with cats and water instead of birds...

Just a thought...

I really love these kind of messages... Not! People have to tease everyone else with real or misleading titles and then not share the info or ideas that they have. Who cares if your the first warrior to get dumb weapon. I would just like to get all the details, so I know what I'm up against. I say if you have info, share it. =(
RE: Second Blade found in Lake of Ill Omen
# Oct 14 2000 at 3:54 AM Rating: Default
Two points:

1) People that post like this are either teasing, or actually are just making it up to throw us off because they have nothing better to do with their time.

2) If not the above, then I must point out that this IS a spoiler board, and there is no point in not providing "spoiling" information (spoiling means it spoils the quest for anyone wanting to figure it out on there own, since some posters seem to not understand that) =)

Therefore, most likely people coming to this part of a site WANT to have the quest spoiled for them and completely expect to find the solution, or at least a more descriptive part of it.

Earlier on the boards someone posted part of a quest to get Vox Tail Ale. It involves a receipt and what not. Well anyway the captain that is supposed to be getting the ale is actually a named sea zombie (in Erud's Crossing I believe) He doesnt speak english very well (usual zombie talk...braaaaaaainnnnnnnsssssss...you understand what I mean) He asks for a sea deamon scale (water dragon scale is my best guess to be honest) He also has some information regarding an eyepatch and a ring for his girlfriend. His girlfriend is a girl over in the BB docks(Im thinking...not sure) She seems sad to have lost him. So what does all this have to do? I think the quest with him will go something like this. Get Water Dragon Scale. Turn in to Cap'n Zombie. Get his ring. Give ring to girlfriend. Get eyepatch. Give eyepatch to Cap'n Zombie. Get second blade. Does this all aactually work? I have no idea. Anyway before I end this post I thought I should mention that I ripped most of this information straight from the warriors section over at www.eqforge.com Head over there and read more (also get acurate names and locations) Good luck. I need some better weapons!

Forget which board I read about the work on this quest but as of now turning in the water dragon scale does not work. So dont go wasting your scale if you got one. Im not saying the the water dragon scale is wrong, but if its the right one there is at least something else you have to do first to get him to accept the scale. Someone who tried to give him the scale did note that he responds to the scale with something other than thanks, but he still eats the scale with no return or extra imformation. If I find that other link again ill post it. They seem to be figuring this quest out.

Seeing as I am close to getting the blade and hilt finished for the first sword, I have a question. If people have finished this part of the quest, why haven't we heard anything about the weapon? There are going to be 2 particle effect swords that will be combinable to make a 2h weapon when some truly gifted and lucky ******* finishes the scabbard quest. In the meantime, it appears as though it isn't impossible for those of us under 55 to obtain at least one sword yet nobody has done so.

If anyone knows of a kindly tinkerer on Povar server, please pass on the name so I can get those damned rebreathers and the blade.

Thanks
RE: Sword one
# Oct 13 2000 at 6:59 AM Rating: Default
Because the scabbard is a 4 slot container. You must have all 4 pieces to click combine and obtain the 2 hander. At that point you can then split the two hander and form the 1HS weapons.

In other words there are quite a few people sitting around with 2 hilts and a blade in one scabbard!..

Finaly Crafted Dragon Head Hilt

YAAAA!!! /clap /clap ( nope your no were near done yet )

BLADE #1

and only one found so far

Red blade? Heart maybe?

You need to go to perma frost * ya far away I know* And Camp the Ice giants ( MORE GIANTS WEEE!!!) In front of Voxs Lair, not the outside ones ( no cheating ) but the ones inside untill they feel like gracing you with there mega rare drop the

Block Of Perma frost

* DONT LEAVE TILL YOU WASTE HALF THE GOBLIN POPULATION AND YOU GET A FROZEN HEART!!! it helps kill time between Ice giant spawns too and makes you feel better Gobby wizzards seem to drop them * tell you more bout this later :P

Now get your **** out of that freezing place and get back to warmer climats

Now get a Gnome beg him not to rip you off and ask him to make you 2 rebreather mask.
ya 2, can we say OUCH , it cost to make about 900pp so expect to pay about 2kp each

Grab your two player made rebreather mask, that you just paid an arm and leg for , run to East Freeport, head to the docks and find inside the dock tavern

Tarker Gargur , buy from him the VOXTAIL ALE !!!
YAA AT LAST !! (108pp)

they finaly put the DAMN THING INTO THE GAME

ooh yaaaa suuuure every quest worked yaaa every thing was working finneeeeee

suuuree , well any way After this patch its finaly there, Amen

Grab your 2 rebreather mask, Block of Permafrost. and * ahem* Voxtail ale and find the dwarf Denken in the OOT Aviak island.

he is supposed to hand you the blade covered in runes

Hope it works :P

Blade #2

*shrug* who knows?

rumors say starts in FV but *shrug*

Red Scabbard

BACK TO FREEPORT EAST!!
AGAIN!

Next to stumpy the dwarf Wenden , hes buddy Kargek Redblade can be found.

Kargek Redblade is human though

just say

*I will do you a favor*
You get a letter ( wax sealed note)

Take this letter to an Ogre in Ferrott, His name is Oknoggin ( he hangs out between the Stone bridge and the Fallen totem)

Hand him the letter he tosses you a small lute
( Tiny Lute)

Run back to East Freeport And give back to Kargek Redblade he gives you ...TADAAA ...nope nothing cool , just a book..

great.....sigh......

Ok take the damn book over to his brother in EAST KARANAS, ya lets either beg a Druid or start running you cheap bassard.

hes at the VERY END of the passage next to the ramp that leads to HH, so either zone out from HH towards East Karanas and JUMP! ( eheh I would like to see that) or just run to the very end.

hand him the book, his name is TENAL Redblade
(psst if Rallos handed the busted sword to ogres why do these hummys have it? * shrug*)

he gives you a FROZEN WAR TOTEM ( or something like that)

Hand him back the totem and the Frozen Goblin Heart that you got from perma( YOU DID remeber to get one while you camped the Perma frost block right?????)

He gives you back a totem of hmm I think it was
Totem of Feiry war??

* an ogre on this message board said that right after you turned in the items Tenal starts wielding a sword? hmm could that be the second blade or the panzy is just teasing us?*

Any way, now figure out HOW THE BLAZES are you going to get what he wants

GREEN DRAGON SCALE

RED DRAGON SCALE

ya , in our dreams, Green dragon in Emerald Jungle, most servers never killed him yet and those who have wont tell any one their secrete on how they did it, I only know that bards play a key role in the battle

Red Scale , Naggy if your not 53 yet, Skyfire Dragon if you are.

Gamgan still is 50 so Ill keep trying Naggy though gottem my troll **** wupped 3 nights in a row fun as heck though

Ok by some miracle you gotten both scales, , turn them in to Tenal Redblade, with the TOTEM OF FIERY WAR, he gives you

TADAAA , Nope not done yet , WHAT? nope sorry

MARK OF THE SWORD!!! YAAAA ( what the heck is this? * shrug* dunno)

All I know is you need turn this in with the Master Spanker .. er

MAESTROS HAND ( from hate )

Not even a common DROP!! SHEESH! Verant must really hate us Tanks

turn both items in to Tenal Redblade ( realy starting to hate this guy, cant we just beat him to a bloody pulp and take the damn scabbard??)

This time he gives us some sort of Note, and request some item from the plane of AIR

( ok I give up)

After that?

Who knows the first few are hard the last few are possible only with MEGA UBER GUILDS

go figure the Rouge could solo most the quest and only needed a raid at the very end, yet we have to get most to items on RAIDS and then there not even common drops!

Ok enough ranting

the sword supposed to be REALLY good, it better be damn it

Hope this helps

dont know if ya have to be 55 to do this or not.

On the Brell server, the Green EJ Dragon has been killed at least twice. Both times the dragon has dropped TWO green dragon scales. I think VI did this because the difficulty of killing the dragon is so high. Either this is just lucky drops or the dragon will always drop 2 scales, lets hope its the latter.

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 3:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

well, to get a giant sized monocle, you have to camp the giant fort in dreadlands.. to get the patriarch to spawn... then someone comes up and KS's your camp, and gets the item you just spent the last 5 hours camping. think about it.

Although rudely put, it has a bit more point than the Rebreathers mentioned more extensively below.. there is undoubtedly a lot of camping occurring for this quest, but I do not see where Rebreathers come in. Correct me if I'm wrong, thanks.

I have gotten price quotes of 3kp for rebreathers on Erollisi Marr. There are VERY few gnomish tinkerers on our server, only one that i have heard of with the needed skill level to have a 50/50 chance of making it. Apparently, this trade is possibly the most expensive trade to gain skill in, so we are going to be paying out the **** unless uber guilds start giving assistance to a cause. And frankly, warriors would be better of with two shields that procced "Hit me again, ooh i like it" than with another "uber blade" that takes 6 month to get. my question is, how do these quests compare with the original FA for paladins, err the second version of it. if level 50s could do it then. did they need 5 raids (separate zones) to achieve the goal?

Second blade in the game

It has been confirmed but not spilled yet.

The second blade is a sword in the game, Possible the fine steel short sword from Chardok.

You take it to a certain mob along with something else and the sword is broken apart leaving you with the second blade.

It is also quite possible this mob is in "The Hole" or surrounding area's

This sounds interesting.

Runed Blade, dropped in Karnor's, extremely rare drop off of Knight of Sathir.

Runed Blade
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
Charges: Unlimited
Skill: 2HS Atk Delay: 40
DMG: 26
Effect: Rune III
WT: 10.0
Class: WAR, PAL, RNG
Race: ALL

Anything is possible I guess. I wouldn't have a clue what to do with this blade to figure out how to turn it into the second blade, even if I did have it, but I guess its worth at the very least experimenting with, i.e. talk to the quest givers about the weapon.
RE: Second blade in the game
# Oct 12 2000 at 8:21 AM Rating: Default
is not the first blade just that a blade, no hilt , since we have to repair 2 hilts, if you are finding a blade that can be weilded then it must already have the hilt there fore the wrong blade???

just my reasoning.

In chardok the sarnaks can load short swords that come with the ykesha graphic (curved blade). It is -just- a fine steel sword. :)
RE: Second blade in the game
# Oct 12 2000 at 10:32 AM Rating: Default
The whole idea that the second blade came from a complete sword came from a supposed post on an enchanter board. The premise was that the second blade had been crafted into a new weapon and could be broken apart by doind some quest. Also was said that the blade was one that many warriors would already have. This was NEVER confirmed but the rumor spread. I have never found any evidence to support this claim yet and consider it bunk. The original post was supposedly deleted because it "didn't have to do with the enchanter quest" and the person who posted it has been seen on a few warior boards posting, "the quest is broken" and "this sucks" type posts. Nothing constructive or informative. "The second blade drops" was what the creator of the quest said. Whether that means it drops off of a known mob, a triggered mob, or killing a quest mob is unkown. It might also 'drop' after talking to a quest item (like the first hilt and the second hilt). Since both hilts were just spawns and the first blade was a quest I would lean towards the second being a quest item in its self. The closest thing I have found is

http://pub13.ezboard.com/fthesafehousefrm13.showMessage?topicID=166.topic

Since the second blade is the only item left to get don't beleive that anyone has found it until you get it your self or you see item stats/pics.

Spiroc/Scabbard
# Oct 10 2000 at 1:53 PM Rating: Default
I am considering the logic and how the "sword" is made and guessing the following.

The spiroc sword may very well be the final blade.

I still have to get the maestro hand grrr but i have the hilts/blade.

Is it not possible that when you give him the spiroc he will say this is the final blade and return it to you. thus leaving you with all 4 pieces. Then you talk to him and based on faction you get the scabbard? (All the other quests so far end like this)

P.S. I am pissed about the shaman quest. I could go take a long **** and the quest would be done. What a fricken joke.

They even get jboots replacment out of it.

Jboots are harder to get. Verant's lack of balence disgusts me.

went and looked up this quest in firona, lenka stoutheart, barbarian, and the ogre bronto are standing in a hut near the edge of the settlement, along with a dwarf brewer (can't remember his name).

lenka shows you a "jagged runed blade" and says "plenty more weapons like this one lying around. you just need to do a little dragon slaying." this ends up with bronto stating that "every once in a while a bashed up adventurer comes in with [cabby pale ale]. i'm assuming this means cabilis pale ale, which can be bought in both the feild of bone and east cabilis. giving all three npc's in the hut any combination of 1, 2, 3, or 4 cabilis pale ales give no response worth while.... not even the database of quests here on allakhazam knows where it leads. however, this quest/storyline has been in game since kunark release.

This ale isn't cheap either! It is made of some of the rarest ingredients in the world. How often do you think a white dragon sheds some scales? The secret to its brewing are kept by a very select few as well. It is hard for even me to get a hold of this stuff. If you put in an order now I might be able to get you a bottle or two in
[Wed Oct 04 20:45:50 2000] say three months?

[Wed Oct 04 20:46:27 2000] You say, 'I will put in an order'
[Wed Oct 04 20:46:28 2000] Micus Benoren says 'Like I said, it will be a few months before my sources can come through with the stuff. If you are really serious about this then I'm ready to talk business.

[Wed Oct 04 20:46:57 2000] You say, 'I want to talk business'
[Wed Oct 04 20:46:58 2000] Micus Benoren says 'I'll keep this short and sweet. Fivehundred gold pieces per bottle and it will be at least three months before delivery. I put my neck on the line every time I deal with my distributor so I take orders of this nature very seriously.

I Gave Micus 50 platinum. it worked, no need to drag along 500 gold here.

[Wed Oct 04 20:47:33 2000] Micus Benoren says 'Here is your receipt. Come back in a few months.

a bit later I tried again.

[Wed Oct 04 20:49:57 2000] You say,'I am here to pickup the keg of ale'
[Wed Oct 04 20:49:57 2000] Micus Benoren says 'It was special ordered by captain Vekeros, he wanted to surprise his crew with a keg of this great ale after their voyage was done. Last I heard he was sailing around the world, the voyage should almost be over by now.

[Wed Oct 04 20:50:17 2000] You say, 'Who is Captain Vekeros?'
[Wed Oct 04 20:50:17 2000] Micus Benoren laughs deeply slapping his knee. 'You have not heard of the great explorer Captain Greegar Vekeros? You must live in a cave!' Micus laughs deeply again slowly regaining his composure. 'Captain Vekaros has sailed all the known oceans of Norrath with the crew of the White Maelstrom.

This NPC is a woodelf in leather armor.
I bought his receipt and I guess I'm going back in 3 months, which I hope is EQ months and not real ones.

I tried to give it back to him again, he answered with :
[Wed Oct 04 21:00:15 2000] Micus Benoren says 'Didn't I tell you it would be a few months for the ale?

The receipt is called Bottle Receipt LORE NO DROP.

I forgot to get the /loc of the entrance of the stone wall, but I did get the loc of the entrance of the big stone inside the wall surrounding it. It is approx. -11300, -1330.

It is Underwater, so if you find the big wall surrounding this island, you do not have to have levitate and run around the wall to look for the entrance, you need to swim down and find it.

Edit: about captain Vekeros, he is apparently seen in Erud's Crossing, near the sunken ship with some zombies at it.

one issue i have with this... the recipt is a "bottle recipt." the keg is for someone else, and since you haven't completed the quest yet, you can not with absolute certinty say that the end result is a "keg of vox tail ale". seems more likely that it ends up you get a lore/nodrop keg eventually and take it to the captain - and something else happens from there.

now, would you please go to the sandfisher village in norht ro, and check out the vendor sold "keg of vox tail ale'?

about your quoting me - you did an excellent job - and i did make the mistake of not backing up my statement.

I guess I can't say that the quest I found in Timorous Deep is the thing you need, and I was wrong quoting you like that I guess.

The thing is just that this quest is probably something that will result in getting a no drop and lore item, maybe not even a keg of ale. But it is something to look up for you guys.

I haven't finished the quest, but that's only because I can't, the NPC said I would have to wait "a few months" and that's what I am doing. I will come back here once I have waited long enough to receive something from the npc, or receive nothing. I will tell you should no one else do it before me.

*edit* well I'm back and I've tried to give him the note back. He still says "you have to wait 3 months" even tho I have waited for over 3 REAL months now.. He does give it back though. this tells me he doesn't want it, he wants something else.

no worries =)
my bad on the quote - you were completly right to quote me as it was. i diddn't back up my statement in that post, so you did exactly what you should have.

=)
No really... there is not a side quest...

You can already buy a 'Keg of Vox Tail Ale'

Other posts give the location of it. There are some other quests involving ales throughout the game. This could be along with that. But this is not for a keg of Vox Tail Ale.
Vox Ale

I have heard a brewer NPC in Firiona Vie was asking about Vox Ale. He wanted to buy a crate of it.

Thought: Does the quest require "a keg of vox tail ale" or just "a vox tail ale"? And, do the merchants sell "a keg of vox tail ale" or "a vox tail ale"? If the quest requires a "keg" then perhaps you turn some in (ie. 4) to this brewer in FV to recieve a "keg". Just a thought.

quest requires "a keg of vox tail ale". this ale is purchased from the vendors. THERE IS NO SIDE QUEST for the vox tail ale.

Siacay you have contributed a great deal but your are dead wrong. The keg's were placed in the game because now one could figure out the quest. But there is a quest for the keg. My guild mate killed the captain the other nite and got a keg off him. And if your search the quest data base3 you would know this.

Although some of your poo poo's are correct(second blade post I agree was totally bogus) your are dead wrong here. Actually this could be an interesting quest and could in itself possibly give some hint of the location of the second blade. So lighten up bud.

ok. first, i think we need to get something straight - what the quest asks for is "a keg of vox tail ale."

now, hypotheticly, if said "keg of vox tail ale" was available from a vendor for purchase, and a quest gave a "bottle of vox tail ale" (which i might add is lore/nodrop - you cant turn in multipules for a keg) - what is the logical conclusion?

a keg of vox tail ale IS vendor bought, and in many places in game - i use the sandfishers in north ro because i can confirm that, at least on the cazic-thule server.

please please please verify what you're talking about before you say i'm wrong!!! i have gone in game and bought a keg of vox tail ale - this isnt' really a HARD thing to find.

yes, there are other quests involving vox tail ale. do they have anything to do with this quest? could be, we don't know the second blade yet. do they involve the trade for the first blade? no. i know this because i actually have the first blade.

All the other classes have 'em, do we? Does the first blade have any stats or is it equippable. Also, my thoughts on the 2nd Blade, there is a super rare 2h sword in Karnor's Castle called Runed Blade (26/40, procs Rune 3), maybe this is it? Just my 2 cents.

Nay, it was stated by some of the verant QA people that although the blade "is in game" no one on any server had it yet and that was 4 or 5 days ago. So, anyone thinking you already have it or had it for quite some time can get rid of that theory, sorry.

The Second Blade is the Sprioc Wingblade from the Spiroc Lord in Plane of Sky, I can't believe nobody has posted that yet.

New Npc Check
# Oct 09 2000 at 2:37 AM Rating: Default
So far, i've checked most of the new npc's around the fp/karana area. Even though i might have missed a couple, all of the ones that i found to look a bit peculiar didn't have anything to say when hailed. My guess, is that in the quest we've already been hinted as to where the location of the second blade is, we've just been overlooking it. It would help out a great deal to check and list the newer npc's.
Good luck and Happy hunting
