Get this message:
"A harbinger of flame snorts derisively, emitting a wisp of curling flame from its flaring nostrils. 'Talendor, protector of the Ring of Scale, is not here. Perhaps he will return.'"
Turns out I had the Red Dragon Scale from the Echo of Nortlav on me. Gave it to another to hold, hailed again and all went well, 60 seconds later I was feared then killed by *Talendor!
Managed to loot the RDS but I couldn't find my corpse.

I found this mob and hailed it and got this message when I responded:
"Prepared to face Talendor"
Mob: Talendor, protector of the Ring of Scale, is not here. Perhaps he will return, but not for you."
I can't find information on this anywhere. Does anybody know what I'm missing or if it's broke?

I read a comment under a Harbinger of Fear that if you aren't on the appropriate step (ie trying to preloot stuff) it will say that
First time he was near wiz spire. A week later I found him up near veehans peak.

It seems that this npc despawns when Talendor spawns. Anyone know what his respawn timer may be?
Killed Talendor, and he spawned in about 5 minutes.

Just found him in Skyfire. He is just beyond the Overthere zone-in about halfway between the big lava lake and the end of the river (on the first lava river to your north as you enter zone). The Magelo location shows where I found him exactly.
This MOB looks like a drake but he is more red and is a little smaller. He does move but only taking a few steps and then stops. He repeats this. Pretty easy to identify by size and jerky movement. Once you target him, you hail him and get this message:

You say 'Prepared to face Talendor'.
A harbinger of flame shrieks, a powerfully rumbling roar for a diminutive drake, 'A challenger seeks to test his mettle?'
Talendor pops; you slay him; and get the Torn, Burnt Book.
Major Props to Daybreak for fixing this. It was virtually impossible prior to the introduction of the harbinger of flame and frost. Now it is just difficult but definitely doable if you work at it.
