Deep inside Broken Skull Rock are the Torgiran Mines, where downtrodden slaves delve into the ore-rich depths of the island.

The ore is moved by rail out to Dulak's Harbor, processed in the refinery, and used to create ship's fittings and primitive weapons. The mines themselves occasionally dip below sea level, sometimes even uncovering lava pools. The Luggald have erected shrines and etched mystic runes in the mines, which seem to prevent them from flooding.

A Crazed Miner

We took about 10 of us to the mines last night to have a bit of fun and get a couple drops for our enchanter's spell she needed. Most everything was light blue or dark blue at level 59 and was real easy to take down, until.....

We got to one area that had a crazed miner that was level 60 (any others we had seen were dark blue to 59). Well, he was ready to attack so we decided to take him out. He was slowable, not resistant and hit for low 200's max (maybe a smidge higher but not bad). We had myself (59 Warrior), 60 Monk, 61 Monk and 54 Rogue that were doing the tanking. We also had a Necro, a few Druids and a couple Shammies putting DoT's (Epics included) and doing a bit of nuking. After a couple minutes we easily noticed that his HP was going down extremely slow (he was only at maybe 92% or so) so we were concerned that maybe we wouldnt be able to kill him. All the healers said they had plenty of mana so we continued our attack. After about another 8 to 10 minutes (my defensive disc was almost refreshed) he was getting down to somewhere in the mid 50% range. We still had plenty of mana on the healers and the couple of adds were easily controlled by our enchanter. Finally he was down to 51% and we knew we could kill him if we didnt get too many more adds. And then....
He POOFED!!! Out of nowhere, at exactly 51% HP he was gone...actually depopped. Grrrrr, talk about mad!!!

If anyone has any other info on this guys, or if this was maybe a bugged spawn, I would love to hear from you.

Yup he is a quest mob for the bard song quest. Bards get an item in Dulak that they turn in to this guy which makes die. Before he does that though he hands the bard the item they need to continue the quest. So please don't kill him. =)

haha, hes indifferent if you coned him. Hes a quest mob, you shouldn't try to kill him. Next time you see him hail him... should explain everything. ohh and if you accidently engauge battle with him and you have a chanty, just root him and have the chanty blurr till hes indiff again.

For chanties with Dire Charm, the slavers are (or some of em at least) level 45. So if you are here for the new 52 chanty spell, Scryer's Trespass, this makes getting this spell very easy. The slaver pet can handle 3 slowed mobs at once hehe. Anyways, a nice little tidbit of info for those that can use. Shouldn't take more than an hour or two to find the two orbs needed for the spell off of the Crazed Miners.
