The Halls of Honor are home of the Battalion of Marr and lead the way to Mithaniel Marr's temple. In three of the four crypts you will find trials in which you can prove yourself in the trials of the Villagers, Crazed Norrathians, and the mighty dragon Rydda`Dar.

Level 57 is required to enter the zone without a flag on the live servers.

This is just another idea of SoE's attempts at a joke imo. 62-65 the exp is decent, but after that you'll have better luck hunting pretty much ANYWHERE as compared to here. You have to be doing massive amounts of killing here to get good exp post 65, and as over camped as it is, being the only 65+ hotzone, that's a hard thing to do w/o ticking people off.
This batch of hotzones was pretty horrible period, but this one kind of sums them up.
Mistmoore, 20... hrmm, not bad if you're a well twinked toon, but my preference is to go straight to Warsilk Woods, which I believe they made the 35 hotzone... There's another joke... At level 27 most mobs are light blue at best, so I normally go from 17 to about 25 here. Next stop... Dawn Shroud Peaks... The zones between that are either too tough to too easy for decent exp. If you aren't a twink, temp and ds pots are your friend here as always, and ds pots must be your friend here anyways if you come at 25 as I do. I forget, but the deformed horse looking things are easy to kill, no adds, but they run so hopefully you can either do some dps quickly when they run or root/snare them. I prefer root because it means they continue to beat on you and your ds does all the work. Now, I slowly work my way towards the hopper cave starting at the GE zl. About 37 I'll start looking for a hopper group, unless you're like my necro and finds a way to solo them at 37. Then, about 40ish I head to Velks. One of two of the only zones I feel deserve the title "hotzone". The zones pretty good, has various level mobs, and is overall a very interesting experience. The deep... oh I hate this zone... I get the mask and shard if my toon needs those items, but otherwise I go from 50-52 here and if I can get out earlier I do. Now on to Droga... Only other hotzone imo. Good level range, something like 43-61 on the mobs, so you can, and most likely will, spend a good deal of time here. Drops are rewarding in certain areas as well as the hotzone items. You do get tired of staring at goblins and spiders after weeks upon weeks of leveling alts through the 50's though. Then NC. *sigh* This zone is something else... Basically the mobs are almost as tough as the WoS mobs, but con lower and have less chance of dropping something valuable, albeit there are some VERY nice 60ish items that drop here for those that can't get better or just need something to carry them over until they upgrade at 65. Tough zone, and again, I get out as soon as possible and head to HoH when I can get 85'd in or I reach 62. Problem being, once you get into the upper 60's there's no 70 hotzone atm, and HoH doesn't cut it, period. No real drop table here except for parchments, and even BoT has a better drop rate on them. At 68 almost everything turns light blue and it takes a very quick killing group for it to be worth your time. WoS at that point is a better alternative, about the same regular exp, but slightly better aa exp. Loots, runes, etc made it possibly the best hotzone lately, but sadly no more.
Anyways, sorry about that late night vent session (it's 5am, waiting on a spawn atm), but I feel it's time that SoE puts it in the players hands about what should be the new hotzones. Maybe do a survey and go from there, because I can guarantee you HoH, Warsilk, and most of the other current hotzones wouldn't be hotzones now, not to mention they wouldn't be for the level they supposedly are for.

Someone posted thaat a Rabid Wrulan, a Recuso Degenerate, and Undead Inhabitant dropped Ornate Leather Glove and Wrist Patterns. I farmed these mobs for 4 hours tonight and not a single drop other then Serverwide loots; such as the new tradeskill items. Please fix this so someone else doesn't waste their time =/

Have a question about HoH faction.

I killed here with a friend for a bit, and got a faction hit to make me KoS to the Hero Shrines probably as well as the entire zone.

Will this faction carry over to the guards in PoValor? Such as the castle guards and the animated guardians?

looked like hit for 1350 max. how i know? logged in after dec 15 patch.. bam.. dead. lesson learned. never camp out where u "think" is safe before a patch.

Valorian Guardian Florik is another I saw on track, he's yellow at 70, I didn't get close enough to get aggro or get hit.

Irak Atlil red con to a 67 straight out from the hoh:b zone in. Will only talk to paladins who have the fiery defender. Describes some quest to find crystals of people's stolen souls. Same name as the final turn in for paladin epic, the wandering skellie in pofear.

Also Anthone Chapin spawns in the NE basement not SE.~ Also does not respond to paladins that hail him. Lvl 67 paladin tried it who has the fiery defender. No answer.

New mob in SE basement named Anthone Chapin, level 62 or 63. Its a human model just like the Valorian guards, guardians, and sentry models.

He is indifferent to all apparently and doesn't assist other mobs on pulls. I assume he is part of a class epic 1.5 or 2.0, but he wouldn't respond to hails of a shaman, warrior, or druid. He does turn in the direction of the person hailing, but other than that no response.

The only reason I think there would be a faction at all is for guides to be able to use guide alliance to get off KOS to the entire zone. Just my 2 cents

GM/Guides don't need to do anything of the sorts, KOS mobs will not attack them every if they con "ready to attack"

It's not really that they don't like you or anything, but their job is to test if you're worthy of meeting Mithaniel Marr, so yeah, they will attack you on sight.

Occasionally I've seen this mob pop in HoH. It spawns in the very back of the undead basement. Its arrival is heralded by the zonewide message "The spirits of Honor's fallen Heroes begin to coalesce in front of you." I managed with some strategy and luck to get down into the last room of the undead basement and target him (regular human model). I attacked but was too LOM to get him single so FM'd and I prepared to med up to split. As I did, he poofed. That was about 5am game time.

Now, I'm curious, does ANYONE know ANYTHING about this? I've seen him before and it's always bugged me because it seems like it could be something nifty, perhaps a 4th trial? I'm sure no one ever camps the undead mobs because of the difficulty (hit for near 1k with incredibly nasty AEs), so it could have easily gone unnoticed all this time.

If you got it targeted, shoulda wrote down the name, so you could better describe. Had plenty of time if you had to med to FM like you said.

'A Protector of Valor' <- needs to be added to the list above.

Dark blue con to 65.

Does not summon.

Mini-wrulon, about the size of the DC pets at entrance, which can spawn near the path on the way to the NE basement (Rydda`Dar trial).

It shares the same spawn point as Wrulon Guards.

If you are walking towards the NE basement, go past the first four wrulons and you will reach an area which has two wrulons on one side, and two guardians of marr on the other.
This mob will spawn in the place of the left wrulon.

Hits about the same as Wrulon Guards, but the only difference is it isn't snareable/rootable, and only partially slowable.

Dropped a Spectral Parchment once, nothing another time, and the third time, this:

Beware.
As of 1/25/04, all of the DC pets in this zone (Wrulon younglings, Valiant squires) are bugged.

They will randomly gate (literally) back to their spawn points while in the midst of battle while Dire Charmed.

"A Valiant Squire begins to cast the gate spell."
"A Valiant Squire gates."

They then automatically follow you again to wherever you are.
In that process, they aggro any mob that they run near and die fairly quick, and that aggro gets transferred to you.
The mob will then run all the way across the zone to you and bring a ton of friends with it.

We had this happen (3) different times while the raid was clearing to the HoH trial basements.
The third time it wiped nearly half of the raid whenever 9 adds came up behind us due to what I mentioned above and we were caught unprepared.

/Bug it when you get the chance. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

Valiant Spirits

A Valiant Spirit is incorectly denoted as monster in bestiary - its actually undead and cab be slowed with necro undead slow (partially) also undead nuke works on these. The white variety which are much more rare than black drop Windblade and the Girdle of Mithaniel (sp?). First two of white variety I encountered - first dropped Windblade, 2nd dropped the Girdle - suffice to say we visited them on a number of occassions. None have dropped since - think we just got lucky that day.
