A very decent blade for those who have it or care to get it. Most Zek'ers will tell you 2handers are the way to go. I personaly use Seru's BBB. I maxed out ferocity and punishing blade before i got AM 2. Even now with a stonewood and AM 3, i find old habits are hard to break, and stick with melee. I tend to tank alot in LDoN, so a 2hander definatly cuts down on ripostes. And when i riposte, i hit from 100 - 600, depending whether i crit or not. Damage sheilds do not do much damage either.
Went to HoH last night for the first time and was there with a group of friends when got a tell tocome to a certain building and they asked if I wanted this sword. They had no Ranger in their group so they were kind enough to see if I wanted it, it is a very nice sword for 2hand slash and when using it I was criting for 500+ lol of course jolt was loaded since being hasted I was pulling aggro from the MTs =). Overall this is a very nice sword for all Rangers who love to use 2hand slash. Hunt well and stay safe

In PvP my 2hs comes into play but when lvling i stick with my combo of 1hs/1hb...But to no avail on my server (sz) i will be lucky to ever even think about looking at a sword as nice as this one (a girl can dream tho cant she?) lol i wish =)
after 4 years, i still don't see much use for 2h weapons with a ranger. i was a good boy and have the skills for using them, but i'd rather stick to dual wielding
Hunter Gilg Darkmyst Forest Stalker of Karana Raid Officer - Avatars of the Emerald Throne Emarr
This weapon drops off of the minnie bosses from HoH trial 2, to get into HoHb. I believe it is a random drop from them, since there are several minnies in one of the trials.
Hope that helps a bit. BTW, yes it is a very sweet weapon, I like mine a lot =)
Dont worry too much about knights being envious, we're well aware that there are many great ratio weps that are knight only. Even ones that are war/pal/sk/rng usually go to a sk or paly before war / rng anyways.
2 handers with viable dps are a good thing for any melee. Exactly what was said about riposte.
Well after experiancing in PoP with my Ranger I must say 2HS has caught my attention. One Ive been using basicly the same damn weapons since Kunark with only replacing main hand. and 13 21 offhand to me is now just boring as hell. Also for all purposes rangers got a doodoo deal in PoP IMO. Now the possibility of 2hs out dmg DW? VERY. ok you spend a points on the ability to triple attk with a 2hander weapon, you go back to Sol aaxp and max out double riposte and go further in PoP riposte. In the end you have the only means of a ranger triple attack BTW and almost a 200% chance of riposting.
The tanking days of the ranger in my experiance are all over in PoP unless your a FoH or AL ranger with more ac/hp than most wars on many servers. At least in Sol a ranger was still able to tank in XP groups in PoP I havent found a place where it is feasable. Yeah anyone can tank if ya got the clerics to heal ya but is it practical.
Well perhaps 2HS makes it possible. This occured to me one day when raising skill with a weighty polearm in PoV and the mob turned on me cause the MT went AFK in a fight not telling us and I was able to tank for a while reciveing little damage. A light clicked in my head why, I thought about it later and came to the only conclusion the mobs in PoP hit for 300+ on up and have a riposte like nobodys buisness using a 2hander drops that riposte remarkably.
Going 2HS/2HB may be a way to tank in XP groups.... Its a thought having a 250 skill and a good 2hander may be worth experimenting with. Also rangers can out damage paly with 2HS Pal 2HS caps at 225 prolly same for SK too. I have been a DWer since level 17 at 65 Im considering a change. If it proves worth while I will stick with it if not all my 1 hand skills are maxed.
Oh BTW what I hear this drops during the trials in HoH, and possibly other mobs
Sheesh, I wish people would stop whining and start posting information, like, what this dropped off of. It's not like some Dev comes through here and reads some retards thoughts on every weapon and how it relates to class balance.

This would never replace my dual 1HS.Its a neat weapon to play around with but with the Lowered Cap on 2HS and then having to spend tons of AA just to eek out another Attack per round, its just not worth it.
Saemayel Faemyst;Ranger of Anathemae "Speed ownz, the quicker I hit the quicker the mob dies...and the quicker we get to the next one."
how can anyone say one more attack from your weapon is not worth it? having 3 attack from you 2hs is like having 6 attacks from 1 handers. another thing about DW is the trasition from your primary to your offhand can cause lost of dps therefore having a 2hs would be better. thirdly i don't agree with your sig "speed ownz" saemayel. more you hit the mob the more the mob ripostes you therefore you would take more damage from the mob. that is why a lot of warriors in end game guilds would use a 2hs(blade of war) over 2 EB weapons.
as far as i know, DW is broken, even end game rangers admit that 2hs can outdamage their 1handers with ease
Have to agree with khashik, think well before posting friend. Rangers have almost the same weapon abilities as a Warrior, most of our skills cap at the same levels as a Warrior, we just don't get crits like they do.
In the high end game, there is COMBAT FURY. This allows none critting melees to have a base chance to crit with melee weapons and for rangers, it will also increase your chance to crit with a bow. Now with this weapon I have crit for up to 400dmg and I am only at 201 skill atm.
Im not saying that I prefer this over my bow or 1hs weapons, but it is a nice weapon to use for variety. Happy hunting =)
I went and spent a considerable sum for a wingblade and guess what? I parsed the log, (which I wish folks would do before posting) With and RGB and a Wingblade equipped it outdamaged every 1hs combo I could try by 10 DPS. The ratio is better on this puppy so I don't thing I'd be shy about asking for it.

Posted:Nov 18 2002 at 10:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF are you talking about? I've seen tons of Rangers out there with incredible Ranger only 2 handers. Do rangers even look at what other classes can get? I bet you would cringe at how few high DMG/DLY ratio weapons Warriors can get.

Posted:Nov 18 2002 at 10:30 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Haha... that post makes me laugh. The only other decent ranger only 2hs is Vinecutter, which is like 45 50. And warriors dont get high DMG/DLY weapons? All the new PoP 2hs that keep rollin in that are WAR/RNG/PAL/SHD are friggin uber, some even better than this. None of which a ranger would ever be able to roll on, unless every warrior/pally/shadowknight on the raid had better. So nice try, but no.
Well, before you start laughing, you might want to think about what you're saying. I mean, I usually hate to be the one that invokes the despised "nobody will *roll* on this," but I may have to. Getting to the Halls of Honor isn't all that easy. The people that are going to get here and beyond aren't your average "open Hate raid, levels 46+...pst" crowd. The guilds getting into HoH are going to be those tilted more towards the high-end. These guilds don't normally random out worthwhile loot. Most of the time, you'll be seeing a merit-based/DKP/weighted-DKP loot system. That being said, this sword is several shades of ***. It's a nice toy. With only 100 HP/mana, no AC, no STA, and only the one save, I think you might see Rangers rolling for it. But, they'd be rolling to see who has to take it, not who wants to.
1st at 56 I wouldn't be in this zone yet. 2nd given the damage and delay on this I'd want it and I'd be rolling for it, if it were not assigned. The stat adds are nice and if I had any problem with it I would have liked to have seen it have some AC and more resists than just fire.
I'm a proud owner & wielder of a Vinecutter ( 45 / 50 rng only ). Yes, yes, even in this age of the Windblade ^_^
Besides the V-cutter's beautiful graphic, it also becomes a beastial weapon with some ignorant haste like Shissar or VoG backing it. I get regular 240-250ish damage hits (and 480 damage crits with CF2).
Whether I'm hunting giants in Rathe, or on another doomed attempt at the CT Ring of Slime, if i'm fortunate enough to get hit by a good haste, I'll pull out this 2hd slash instead of dual wielding. Not only does it seem to out-perform my non-epic'd damage a great deal, but it's always important or raids for non-MA / SA type melee'ers to avoid aggro. Many, MANY times, I've had this weapon in hand whilst I walked on the corpses of epic wielding rangers at a raid. Some Girl Scouts never learn.
The only issue i may have with the V-cutter is, even at max haste, it can only get to 24 - 25 delay.
So, I'm actually a ranger looking forward to getting this much quicker Warder's Broadsword. Just hope it looks as pretty as me current one.
Khemosaabe "Tonto SPAM" Longbow (of Cazic Thule server) Lvl 58 Ranger and Slayer-of-Bunny-Wabbits "There's always room for Jello Gnome!"
Well let me tell you about looks, there are few weapons in the game which can compare to the stealth look of this blade. One is the Paladin only blade that drops off the same mob that drops this one.
