Demiplane Aug: Madrillah the Ancient(Normal):
Madrillah the Ancient is a shiliskin who spawns in the library after a random number of trash mobs have been killed in the zone.
Madrillah the Ancient shouts, 'Yhthz jy cu hqjprhybh ni rhyp ni rmnspdykp ni uhdzp mdth j ahhy pn dxxdeehk.
Madrillah the Ancient says 'Gedz dz rwg s gszga.'
He hits for ~4500 and enrages (no other apparent special abilities -- the easiest aug mob).
Madrillah the Ancient has been slain by _____!
Madrillah the Ancient's corpse says 'Kxgysy.'
Maggotmiser shouts, 'For the love of Tserrina . . . I'm trying to rest here. Who or WHAT is responsible for the commotion? More guests of the Master, no doubt. If you had a dispute to settle with one of the residents here, you'd think you could bother them without picking a fight with every other, single, solitary resident of the Keep.'
Find Maggotmiser in one of the eastern bedrooms upon entering the keep of Dreadspire.
He procs Dark Maggots, a rear-directional AE, and hits for ~6500.
Zi-Thuuli growls in a booming voice, 'Caught by surprise, mortals?'
He hits for ~7000 and single-target rampages. Spreading Stone, a DT trigger, is cast in bulk on random people throughout the encounter.
The first time he must be beaten down to 55% or so.
Zi-Thuuli growls in a booming voice, 'Your show of force is impressive, fleshy ones. The Master was right about you. We will meet again, very soon.'
The second time, to about 50%.
Zi-Thuuli growls in a booming voice, 'Once again the mortals put up an admirable fight. This bodes well. The Master himself may even wish to meet you.'
The third time, to about 45%.
Zi-Thuuli growls in a booming voice, 'Perhaps next time Graniteclaw will catch you off guard. One way or another, the next time we cross paths will be the last.'
An ear-piercing screech reverberates throughout the surreal cavernous Demi-Plane of Blood, announcing the arrival of Redfang.
He single-target rampages; hits for ~4500; spawns four blooddrinker bats (hit for ~2000; unmezzable; unsnareable) upon being aggro'd; and procs a frontal silence spell and an AE lifetap.
Four minutes after spawning, Redfang despawns. When this happens, numerous voracious bats (hit for ~1200; flurry) appear and attack.
One minute after this occurs, Redfang spawns again and must be aggro'd within a certain amount of time, otherwise the event resets. Rinse and repeat until Redfang is killed.
It is triggered by hailing one of the three vampire sisters, Althea, Brenda and Christine.
A horde of adds will spawn once the event is triggered. Although adds will spawn somewhat randomly(?) throughout the event, it is the initial wave that is the worst. Note that if the event goes beyond 20 minutes, the initial wave may spawn again.
Three people must follow the sisters around the crypt area and "betray" Althea and Brenda by reporting their actions to Christine. You have 25 minutes to correctly relay 10 emotes to Christine. Upon hailing a sister, she will give you an emote with trigger text, which may be one of these:
CONSPIRING
CRYING QUIETLY
DEAD RAT
DIARY
LETTER OPENER
POISONOUS SUBSTANCE
SABOTAGING
SCOPING
SPYING
WOODEN STAKE
She will then ask what one of her sisters is up to (example):
Althea says, 'What is Brenda up to?'
Whoever is responsible for talking to that sister should relay the emote given. The key words are in capital letters. Here is an example of an exhange:
You say, 'Hail, Brenda'
Brenda is sulking, burying her face in the bedsheets while CRYING QUIETLY.
Brenda says 'What is Christine up to?'
Whoever is talking to Christine should report her actions to you. If, for example, Christine has given the "poisonous substance" emote, you should relay that information to Brenda:
You say, 'She's making a poisonous substance'
Brenda says 'You watched her poisoning my goblet with your own two eyes? That dreadful witch.'
You have successfully reported Christine's underhanded activities. With enough evidence to incriminate her fully, she will be unwelcome in the Master's house.
Those who are involved with hailing the sisters will have the following spells cast upon them randomly:
Hand of the Unseen (-500 Cold)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 4000
2: Stun(2.00 sec)
Prick of a Poisoned Pin (-500 Poison)
1: Increase Poison Counter by 50
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 2250 per tick
Upon success, a well-kept lockbox spawns in the south crypt, a Sister`s handbag spawns in Brenda's room at the end of the hall, and the following emotes go off:
Christine shouts, 'Master, oh Master! There is dissension among your coven. My own sisters, who I trusted implicitly, have been conspiring against me. There is a mountain of proof and witnesses!'
An ominous voice booms, 'Very well, Christine. Since it pleases you so much, your fellow Sisters will be bound and banished.'
Althea and Brenda's screams are cut short as they are exiled from the Demi-Plane of Blood.
On failure...
Althea pouts, 'I knew these mortals would fail. They didn't put in the efforts to help me.'
Brenda screams, 'Who would? Anyone can see you're naught but a backstabbing strumpet!'
Christine whines, 'This isn't the end of it, Sisters. I know what you've been up to and the Master will eventually know, too. The next time you won't be so lucky.'
The full emotes (Althea and Brenda are just used as an example; any sister can use any of these emotes at any time):
Althea is CONSPIRING with several werewolves, whispering and motioning towards the rooms of the other Sisters.
You say, 'She is conspiring'
Brenda says 'Consorting with the wurine? She's up to no good, undoubtedly.'
Althea is sulking, burying her face in the bedsheets while CRYING QUIETLY.
You say, 'She is crying quietly'
Brenda says 'Crocodile tears, _____. Don't be fooled. The whining strumpet knows nothing but malice.'
Althea glances around the room to ensure the other Sisters are nowhere in sight, then slips a DEAD RAT under the bed pillow.
You say, 'She put a dead rat in your bed!'
Brenda growls, 'She put what in my bed?'
Althea is murmuring to herself while obsessively sharpening an ornate LETTER OPENER.
You say, 'She is sharpening a letter opener'
Brenda says 'To plunge into my back, of course . . . Not that I'd ever turn my back on her.'
Althea gingerly dabs a POISONOUS SUBSTANCE onto the rim of one of the other Sister's wine goblets.
You say, 'She is making a poisonous substance'
Brenda says 'You watched her poisoning my goblet with your own two eyes? That dreadful witch.'
Althea uses a small chisel to hammer a crack into another Sister's coffin, SABOTAGING it.
You say, 'She is sabotaging a coffin'
Brenda says 'Damaging my coffin, eh? Wait until the Master hears of this. He will be most displeased.'
Althea is wandering the back halls, SCOPING out the occupants in the various guest rooms.
You say, 'She is scoping out the guestrooms'
Brenda says 'Nosy girl should stick to her room. She has no reason to wander the back halls.'
Althea is surreptitiously watching the other Sisters, SPYING on them.
You say, 'She is spying on you'
Brenda says 'Aha, I knew I felt her wicked gaze! The witch should mind her own business.'
Althea is carving a block of wood, using a whittling blade to fashion a sharp WOODEN STAKE.
You say, 'She is carving a wooden stake'
Brenda gasps in horror. 'How dare she?!'
Althea is flipping through the pages of a DIARY, which is obviously not her own. It must belong to one of the other Wailing Sisters.
Devlin Rochester`s remains may be found on the first floor of the spire (the same room where Keleborn Redwave spawns in regular Dreadspire).
You say, 'Hail, Devlin Rochester`s remains'
A chilling breeze whips through the study, and from the wind a voice echoes, 'Who is there? Who dares [disturb] my body, the remains of Devlin, the vampire hunter? I must warn you to leave this place, mortal, lest you become like me: a trophy, a guardian, and a monument to the Master's vain and callous cruelty.'
You say, 'I dare disturb you!'
The preserved remains of Devlin shudder and suddenly stand upright. His previously pallid and waxy skin regains its color. You can almost hear his heart beating again as the remains return to life! The voice from the breeze speaks again, 'Heed my warning and leave this place at once, _____. I've no control over my actions! I will slay you all. . .'
Devlin will walk over to a weapon rack and:
Devlin Rochester retrieves armaments from the rack!
He has various abilities depending on which weapons he gets:
Shield + Axe = AE rampage
Shield + Scepter = 'corrupted vial' emotes
Two Daggers = Flurry and a LOT of DPS
Whip = Emotes where you'll need to take off weapons, duck, etc.
After a random amount of time, he will retrieve another random set of weapons from a rack.
Devlin Rochester frowns and discards his weaponry, 'You have been lucky thus far. Leave this place at once before it becomes your tomb!'
Unstable deathwalkers and blood-drenched bonewalkers spawn throughout the event. The zombies AE 'Shower of Gore' upon their death. The blood-drenched bonewalkers cannot be killed. Adds despawn upon Devlin's death.
Upon victory, an ancient footlocker spawns with additional loot.
You say, 'Hail, Devlin Rochester`s Spirit'
Devlin Rochester`s Spirit nods respectfully, 'In retrospect, my quest to face the Master was doomed the moment I elected to enter the Demi-Plane of Blood alone. No one man, no matter how courageous, could possibly brave this place by himself. Perhaps your raiding party will have greater success, ______? Someone must continue my work. Is there a ranger, warrior, cleric, or paladin among you that could [assist] in destroying the master once and for all?'
For clerics and paladins:
You say, 'I will assist.'
Devlin Rochester`s Spirit presents you with a glowing glass of liquid. '______, I'm counting on you to continue my quest to eliminate the Master. You should find this vial of consecreated water helpful. It is particularly effective against certain undead or vampires. Please accept it. Perhaps you can succeed where my skill and bravery have failed.'
Clerics and paladins receive a Vial of Blessed Water, to be used against the Master (Mayong Mistmoore) and his assistants.
For warriors and rangers:
Devlin Rochester`s Spirit says 'My whip has destroyed many abominations while in my trust, and now I entrust it to you. It is enchanted to strike down creatures that are an affront to nature, particularly vampires. Take it. Perhaps you can succeed where my skill and bravery have failed.'
Warriors and rangers receive a Vampire Killer, to be used against the Master (Mayong Mistmoore) and his assistants.
You need to offtank Roley and beat Adrianna down until she "sees the light", temporarily becoming non-KoS and saying one of these lines:
Adrianna says 'There is a small battered chest not far from here. It contains nothing of intrinsic value, but perhaps you can shatter it and use a fragment of the wood as a weapon against what is left of my husband. I can take you there if you'd prefer for me to [show] you the way.'
You will be ported to the library. Four maggot-ridden guardians are in the room and have the Dark Maggots rear-proc. They are mezzable. Sense for traps on the battered chests there. The untrapped chest contains a Splintered weapon in it. Once that is looted, you will be ported back to Adrianna. NOTE: If a trapped chest is touched, the spell Fine Red Mist will be AE'd.
Adrianna says 'There is a coffin not far from here. Within it is kept a decorative oak club, brittle with age. It may prove useful against what is left of my husband. I can take you there if you'd prefer for me to [show] you the way.'
You will be ported to the crypt. Four enraged residents are in the room and have the usual arsenal of spells (charm, stun, Curse of Darkness). They are mezzable. Sense for traps on the coffins there. The untrapped coffin contains a Splintered weapon in it. Once that is looted, you will be ported back to Adrianna. NOTE: If a trapped coffin is touched, the spell Fine Red Mist will be AE'd.
Adrianna says 'There is a cache of ancient weapons not far from here. The armaments are mostly decorative, brittle and worthless, but there is one armament forged of oak that can harm Roley. See that you acquire it! I can take you there if you'd prefer for me to [show] you the way.'
You will be ported to the laboratory where you will encounter three shadowed drachnids and a rotting zombie. Kill the zombie and loot the Splintered weapon off it. You will be ported back to Adrianna.
Splintered weapons are lore and have only one charge. You will need to collect nine weapons in all.
Approximately every 10% of Roley's health, he will emote "Roley DeFarge staggers and goes prone". Those who have Splintered weapons need to click its effect at that time. If a click is missed when he is "prone", he will regenerate at a significant rate.
The click at 90% roots Roley in place, so it is recommended that you start off on Adrianna, do the first port-over and weapon loot, and then beat Roley down to 90%. Click to root him in place, and have him offtanked while you go through the process of looting eight more weapons.
Upon success, Roley DeFarge`s Spirit and Adrianna`s Spirit spawn as well as a reinforced strongbox with loot.
You say, 'Hail, Roley DeFarge`s Spirit'
Roley DeFarge`s Spirit sobs, 'Oh my poor Adrianna, please forgive me. I've been such a fool. If it weren't for my self-serving ambition, we would never have become trapped in this horrible place. Mireille, perhaps you can help atone for my transgressions. Is there a necromancer or monk among you that could [assist] in destroying the Master once and for all?'
You say, 'I can assist you.'
Roley DeFarge`s Spirit says 'This mirror distorts the image of whatever it reflects, showing both painful truths and horrible lies to the viewer. It proved to be my undoing. In your hands it should prove useful against the Master and his minions. Perhaps you can succeed where my impetuous pride has failed.'
Roley DeFarge`s Spirit fades away.
You receive a Blood-Stained Mirror.
You say, 'Hail, Adrianna`s Spirit'
Adrianna`s Spirit beams a smile of sweet sadness, 'It has been centuries since I have seen my husband, uncorrupted. Kubtan, I owe you many thanks. Though you've done so much, perhaps you could honor my death with one final favor. Is there a berserker or shadowknight among you that could [assist] in destroying the Master once and for all?'
You say, 'I can assist you.'
Adrianna`s Spirit says 'The Dalur Ak-Daal is a greatblade harboring intense rage. I discovered, too late, that it was of no use to me. The weapon is only effective in the hands of those that also carry such feelings in their heart. In your hands it should prove useful against the Master and his minions. Take it. Perhaps you can succeed where my devotion has failed.'
The Performer cocks his dusty skull and poses dramatically. Even in undeath, the minstrel before you has retained his poise and charm. 'Pleasure to meet you, ______. In this castle I am known as The Performer. My true name was taken away from me the moment I became a slave to the Master. The same moment I lost my life and became another plaything in his collection. And though he may have stolen away my freedom, he can never stifle my freedom of expression. I know just the thing that make the Master furious but it would require some backup vocalization. How do you feel about [lending your voices]?'
You say, 'Lending our voices?'
The Performer says 'Wonderful! Pay attention to the cues and sing the next line of the song when called upon. The guards will arrive soon and attempt to break up our entertainment, so fend them off as best you can. Forgive me, but I'm actually giddy. Even thinking about the frustration this will cause the Master makes me feel almost human again.'
The event starts...
You have to protect The Performer from an onslaught by orc manservants (including Blueblood), furious shadowmanes, and angry drachnids (including The Spinstress).
Your goal is to keep The Performer alive at all costs. Kill count does not matter here (although killing as much as you can will greatly increase your chances of success).
Periodically, you'll have to sing along with their medley when they ask you individually, or get hit by Stage Fright. You get the lyrics from the band members:
You say, 'Hail, Britton Harmony'
Britton Harmony sings a tune describing the bitterness of a failed romance.
When she and I split ways,
it felt like the end of my days.
Until I suddenly,
suddenly realized
this life was better off alone.
Solitude was the best gift you ever gave me.
You say, 'Hail, Aelfric the Flautist'
Aelfric the Flautist sings a catchy song with nonsensical lyrics.
Touched tenderly.
Where will you be?
Dreaming with me.
Please,
everybody, hear the music.
You say, 'Hail, Seth Kimble'
Seth Kimble sings a depressing tune about suffering and despair.
Another night, in eternal darkness.
Time bleeds like a wound that's lost all meaning.
It's a long winter in the swirling chaotic void.
This is my torture,
my pain and suffering!
Pinch me, O' Death. . .
You say, 'Hail, Randal Reedsea'
Randal Reedsea sings a limerick about a historically significant figure.
Ol' Nilipus hailed from Misty Thicket.
Where'er he smelled Jumjum he'd pick it.
The halflings grew cross
when their profits were lost,
screamin', 'Where is that brownie? I'll kick it!'
Upon victory, all the mobs in the room will despawn, and the band will respawn as spirits. A worn chest spawns with additional loot.
You see:
You say, 'Hail, The Performer`s Spirit'
The Performer`s Spirit whoops, 'We did it, ______! Free again! We've broken the shackles of enslavement that the Master imposed upon my troupe. It's only fair that we offer you compensation for this assistance. Is there a bard, beastlord, druid, or shaman among you that could [assist] in destroying the Master once and for all?'
You say, 'I can assist you.'
The Performer`s Spirit says 'This ordinary looking gemstone has the power to glow with all the brightness of the sun when activated. It should be particularly effect against certain undead or vampires. Take it. Perhaps you can succeed where my followers and I have failed.'
The Performer`s Spirit fades away.
If you're a druid or shaman, you receive a Glimmering Dawnstone.
You say, 'Hail, Britton Harmony`s Spirit'
Britton Harmony`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'
You say, 'Hail, Seth Kimble`s Spirit'
Seth Kimble`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'
You say, 'Hail, Randal Reedsea`s Spirit'
Randal Reedsea`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.'
You say, 'Hail, Aelfric the Flautist`s Spirit'
Aelfric the Flautist`s Spirit says 'We are indebted to you for your help.
Tris Wallow III falters slightly. Her skin is cracked and pale. If the stories are to be believed, she is remarkably well preserved for a being that must be thousands of years old. She gazes at you with piercing, dark eyes. 'Please. . . [help me], _____. . .'
You say, 'We will help you'
Tris Wallow III screams as her flesh peels and curls from her body, revealing the source of her unnatural longevity. Her musculature grows taut. Ears and an elongated jaw sprout from her beautiful face. Clawed paws replace her delicate hands. She releases a bone-shaking howl and rears up to attack!
Tris Wallow III turns into a werewolf and begins attacking. She flurries, hits for ~4500, and procs a charm.
Tris Wallow III changes between three forms, somewhat timer-based. When she is about to change, you will see this:
Tris Wallow III shudders, as if she is about to change forms.
Hair, fangs, and claws retract as Tris reverts to her original form. She is so weary she can barely stand. Again, she pleads, 'Help me . '
Tris Wallow III is now in human form, non-KoS, badly hurt, and asking for help. Do not attack her at this point.
In a short time, she will change forms again:
Tris Wallow III regains her strength, her demeanor instantly shifting from helpless to smug. 'Aha, my beauty has returned.'
In this form, Tris Wallow III is still human but is now hostile. Tanks should remain on her, but keep DPS off. In this form, she may summon numerous enraptured manservants to her aid and procs Color Corruption. She also emotes the following to random people:
Tris stares deeply into your eyes, and you feel her taking over your mind You should look away.
You successfully averted your eyes from Tris' compelling glance.
After a bit of time being in human-KOS form, she changes back into a werewolf:
Tris Wallow III screams as her flesh peels and curls from her body, revealing the source of her unnatural longevity. Her musculature grows taut. Ears and an elongated jaw sprout from her beautiful face. Clawed paws replace her delicate hands. She releases a bone-shaking howl and rears up to attack!
She is again KoS and doing heavy melee damage. She also summons several shadowmanes to her aid while in this form.
When she gets below 8% health in werewolf form, stop DPS'ing her. Once she changes back into a human, have your healers heal her to 100%, and then hit her with Remove Greater Curse.
Tris cries out in agony as the lycanthrope is partially purged from her body.
Tris has successfully been cured of her lycanthropy.
Upon victory, "a dusty chest" spawns with additional loot.
You say, 'Hail, Tris Wallow III`s Spirit'
Tris Wallow III`s Spirit hangs her head in shame, 'If there's one flaw the Master and I share in common, it is vanity. My decisions have caused the suffering and deaths of . . . many. I'm not sure there are enough apologies in the world to excuse the trouble I have caused you. For whatever it is worth, I am deeply sorry. I'm not long for this world. Before we go our separate ways, there is one favor I would like to ask. Is there a rogue, enchanter, wizard, or magician among you that could [assist] in destroying the Master once and for all?'
If you're an enchanter or rogue:
You say, 'I can assist in destroying the Master.'
Tris Wallow III`s Spirit unsheathes a gleaming short sword of unique design, 'This silver blade has given me the upper hand against many of Dreadspire's shadowmane. It is light enough that I was able to use it effectively. Now I bestow this blade to you. In your hands it should prove useful against the Master and his minions. Perhaps you can succeed where my enchantments and guile have failed.'
You receive a Jagged Silver Shortsword.
If you're a wizard or magician:
You say, 'Hail, Tris Wallow III`s Spirit'
Tris Wallow III`s Spirit produces a small wand that radiates intense waves of heat, 'The Firestarter Wand has the ability to ignite certain abominations aflame. Use it wisely, as there are a limited number of times it can be invoked. In your hands it should prove useful against the Master and his minions. Perhaps you can succeed where my enchantments and guile have failed.'
An ominous voice booms, 'Impressive! You have overcome every obstacle placed in your way and continue to demonstrate an ability which transcends mere brute force. Your coordination, tenacity, and resourcefulness are unlike anything I have seen in millennia. But enough of these cat and mouse games. Though I have an eternity to wait, mortals are not so blessed. It is time we meet, face to face. Please do me the honor of visiting the Dreadspire vault.'
The "vault" can be accessed through the hidden area in the library. In order to open the door to this area in the library, you must have credit for completion of the task "Frustrated Functionary".
Clear your way up the spiral ramp and into Mayong Mistmoore's chamber...
An ominous voice booms, 'You've done well. You have done exceedingly well. It's been some time since company presented this much amusement. I am honored to be showered with this attention. You are most welcome, as a guest and servant in my house.'
An ominous voice booms, 'Do not fret over the servants you have slain, the artifacts you have stolen, the damage you have inflicted upon my followers. They are easily replaced, and a small price to pay in order to test your abilities. I have many promising residents to replace the ranks of the fallen, and you will meet them shortly.'
An ominous voice booms, 'Do you understand why you are here? Do you think to defy me? Or mayhap you have simply been playing into my plans all along . . . would you even know the difference?'
An ominous voice booms, 'Regardless of the outcome of our interaction, I will be the victor.'
You first encounter The Master of Dreadspire. Upon triggering the event, the expedition locks and his minions will become active one by one:
Your faction standing with Scions of Dreadspire could not possibly get any worse.
Your faction standing with Shiliskin Empire could not possibly get any better.
Your faction standing with Free Traders of Malgrinnor got better.
You gained raid experience!
The Demi-Plane of Blood is strangely silent. Though Mayong's body is unmoving, his presence can still be felt. His booming voice suddenly fills the halls of the Keep, coming from all directions.
Mayong shouts, 'I told you that I would be the victor of this encounter, regardless of the outcome.'
Mayong shouts, 'This is the sweetest victory I could have ever hoped for.'
Mayong shouts, 'The focused devotion and attention you demonstrated here have lent strength and credibility to my divinity.'
Mayong shouts, 'You have unwittingly worshipped me, and you have martyred me.'
Another shimmering figure fades into view, floating near the first. As she materializes, her body shifts into focus, revealing the form of a young female.
The spirit of Tserrina howls, 'You are all that remains of the mortality of Mayong, shed off and discarded when he became a deity.'
A hollow voice laments, 'Then, I am not long for this world. Perhaps you and I will meet again on the other side?'
The two figures embrace. Tserrina's face comes into sharp focus and she is strikingly beautiful, the features of her mortal spirit not twisted by malice. Insubstantial tears roll down her cheeks.
The spirit of Tserrina howls, 'That is unlikely, my love.'
The figures fade away quietly, clinging desperately to one another.
An alternate finish:
Mayong shouts, 'And thus was born a new era upon the world of Norrath. My era.'
Mayong shouts, 'Let the world know that a new deity has joined the pantheon . . . and his name is Mayong Mistmoore!'
Mayong shouts, 'My drachnid armies and legions of the living dead are poised to attack!'
Mayong shouts, 'At a moment's notice, they will spread across Antonica and Faydwer like a plague, annihilating mankind and laying waste to everyone and everything not pledging allegiance to me.'
Mayong shouts, 'However, with my ascension, I have much more important matters to attend to.'
Mayong shouts, 'Consider your lands safe . . . for now.'
An alternate finish:
Mayong shouts, 'True immortality comes with a price.'
Mayong shouts, 'You cannot possibly comprehend the burdens that I bear.'
Mayong shouts, 'There is an implied responsibility to watch over mankind.'
Mayong shouts, 'To mold it, and push it in the right direction.'
Mayong shouts, 'In addition to monitoring the progress of my minions across several continents,'
Mayong shouts, 'In a way, I am envious of your simple lives.'
