Strangely, I've looked at the profiles of all the Necromancers of Assent and Raging Fury, the first two guilds to of killed Mayong Mistmoore, and none of them have this neck piece?? Just an observation i've noticed.

probably because other than the focus effect, it sucks.
i know for me personally i do not plan on wearing it anytime soon. i havent seen it drop yet but ive only killed tris 3 times. because of how many focus effects necros need, you get locked into certain items in certain slots. for example i have a spell haste necklace that is also a belt that i could move to waist slot in order to wear this. but i have DoT extention in waist slot so i would need the azure shoes of the diplomat (also DoT extention) first, but then theres the pet focus that is a belt, so i would need the cloak from tris as well to replace the spell haste... etc etc etc.
that might be why none of the profiles you looked at were wearing it. or maybe its rare, like you suggested ;)
You forgot to check the NECs of the other guild that killed Tris on the first day (just about 30 mins after Raging Fury did) :P
We got this twice so far (since Nov 22nd 2005) and the necklaces went to Xano and Jeslahn for us.

Very nice, and also Xano is using that weapon which I thought no one would replace their epic 2.0s with too which is surprising as well. Good posts =)

Wow, yeah the primary he is using is nice, but I know that I wouldn't trade the crit percentage focus from epic to use that, not to mention the potential for more augs (and thus much better stats). But as it has been said already there are more then 1 working combination of gear for necros.
Lastly, for necros who spend the majority of their time in Lich form, its hard to really have a unique look in high end guilds. 2.0 and usually 1 of about 4 different secondary graphics, so good for that dude being able to have a different look. Hell I'd loot one of them just for to be able to do that in exp groups.
