The further north of the Blightfire Moors one goes, the rockier the land gets. This is Goru`kar Mesa, the area separating the plains from the higher, more treacherous areas in the mountains.

Goru`kar is the "fork in the road" of the Serpent's Spine mountains. In the north is the passage to The Steppes, which leads to the snowy peaks of Icefall Glacier and the giant city, Valdeholm. To the northeast is the passage to Sunderock Springs, which leads to the disease-ridden Direwind Cliffs and Ashengate, the reliquary of Veeshan's crystalline scale.

And in the western part of Goru`kar is a valley full of griffons and harpies; airborn creatures which have wandered into the Mesa from their nearby nesting grounds, Blackfeather Roost.

This is a great wide open zone for power-levelling toons in the 40-60 range. My favorite spot is where the Kromzek giants spawn. A big number on the open plains and then a bunch more in the caves to the south. Any class that is capable of aoe damage, either via spell or weapon proc, can gain 20 levels in a short session being PL'd by a druid who knows how to do it. Always a load of fun. The drops are just mediocre but when you're looking to level up fast, you don't worry about phat lewt.

had Ursala camped for hours, when a 75 necro named Fallz on the Povar server jumps in and steals it, after he trains us with giants a griffs from across the zone. Then after the rez'n is done, and waiting another 3 hours for it to pop again, he does it a second time, knowing the group we were in had been there all day.

Then he blames the train on Needzmana, wizard from the Twilight of Gods guild, who he was actually helping to KS our mob.

Just an FYI, if you ever run into either of them, they KS...and that says alot for that guild as well

Yep, confirmed she popped once for us inside and twice outside.
Mind you we had to clear most of the bears in the area about 4 times.

In all it took about 2 hrs.
FYI, Bard torso isn't all that good compared to Defiant... Unless I missed something.

You dont see these stats UNTIL you've finished the quest and equip the item, when you link it people see a statless item. BUT I can assure you the Dragoste buff is worth the time it takes to get. 30 Cha alone can change prices for you... and charmers Im sure find it handy.. but if you arent max worn agi str dex it's not too shabby.. not shabby at all.

I did the "They are coming" quest for a sweet aug with mana regen, atk, hp and endurance... and it took me all of 15 minutes if that... easily soloable by any level 75- But if you are not quite 75... you can get a good group of 55's together and get this done... if you are only 30.. make a level 75 friend and have them run this for you... (This is a group task.. everyone in group gets the reward)

BlueViolet, the zone Blackfeather Roost is the zone for you. Mobs are not social there so you can root rot with impunity. And if you have a group there are enough mobs there to keep the group busy.

You can hand the items in to have the things made for you for a fee of 10pp which if you are going to do this set of quests I suggest that you do. Devan tasks

Devan regards you indifferently -- You could probably win this fight.
You say, 'Hail, Devan'
Devan says 'Hello traveler. We are glad to see you. Welcome to our camp. While our [supplies] may be meager, you are welcome to what we have. I will also be happy to [explain] our reason for being here.'
You say, 'supplies?'
Devan says 'We find that we are too busy pursuing our cause to gather supplies in the quantity we need. I am sure you understand the importance of our cause. If you are willing to assist us, you could [collect] some supplies for us.'
You say, 'collect'
Devan says 'As I mentioned, Nicoli has managed to deceive many. Because of that he manages to have more supplies than he will ever need. If you would like, go collect some supplies from the Minohten camp. You can achieve these supplies in whatever manner you prefer. When you have returned you will have taken a step towards showing us your trustworthiness.'

You have been assigned the task 'We Need Supplies'.
Objective Instructions
Steal fruit from the bags in the Minohten camp 0/4 Goru'kar Mesa
Steal vegetables from the bags in the Minohten camp 0/4 Goru'kar Mesa
Steal Beer from the Minohten camp 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa
Deliver 4 Minohten Fruit to Devan 0/4 Goru'kar Mesa
Deliver 4 Minohten Vegetables to Devan 0/4 Goru'kar Mesa
Deliver 1 Minohten Short Beer to Devan 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa
Speak with Devan 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa

You say, 'explain'
Devan says 'We are here instead of with the minohten because of the betrayal of Nicoli. He lied and schemed to keep his control over the minohten firm, and chased those of us that disagreed with him out of their camp. He is so full of himself that he cannot see his hooves over his bloated sense of righteousness.'

Head to the Minohten camp
Click the bags around the campsite, some will give you a fruit/vegetable. May have to wait for bags to respawn. The beer is found by clicking the large brew barrel in the camp.
Nothing aggro'd me while getting the items
Return to Devan at the Tuffein camp

You say, 'Hail, Devan'
Your task 'We Need Supplies' has been updated.
These supplies will help the Tuffein survive.
You gain experience!!
Devan says 'Thank you. That is very helpful. If you have the time, I will tell you [more] of the minohten.'

Sorin tasks

You say, 'Hail, Sorin'
Sorin says 'Hail and well met. What are you doing in our fine [encampment]?'
You say, 'encampment'
Sorin says 'Ah this. Well, we decided that this area was a bit too dangerous and we had to get over our solitary ways. We banded together for our common good. Well, common until [Devan] got that thorn in his hoof.'
You say, 'devan'
Sorin says 'Well, Devan is leader of the [Tuffein]. But do we really need to talk about them? Maybe instead you would like to help me bring some [humor] into their dour lives.'
You say, 'tuffein'
Sorin says 'That is a sad story. Their way just cannot be right. It cannot be right to [capture] Drakkin and send them to [Dyn`leth].'
You say, 'capture'
Sorin says 'Yes. Ambassador Dan`mot came to us to represent [Dyn`leth]. He tried to convince us that the drakkin were here to invade, and that we should capture them and send them to Dyn`leth. There was already [disagreement] between [Nicoli] and Devan, and when Nicoli decided to refuse the offer, Devan decided to side with Dyn`leth and capture drakkin. A small number of our brothers sided with Devan, implying that we were fools and Dyn`leth would [crush] us.'
You say, 'dyn'leth'
Sorin says 'I am not exactly sure who he is, but he seems to have great interest in the Drakkin. He sent someone called Ambassador Dan`mot to convince us to help him [capture] drakkin.'
You say, 'disagreement'
Sorin says 'It seems that Devan was insulted by a decision that Nicoli had made about who should command the scouts. He would never forget it and started spreading rumors that brought down the spirits of the whole tribe. I think he finally used the decision to not help Dyn`leth as a chance to break off from the tribe. Devan left, with a small band of our brothers, of his own accord. It left Nicoli sad for a full day.'
You say, 'crush'
Sorin says 'Well, while they have not crushed us, we have had some issues. If you have enough experience, Pereteanu may have some information about an attack that is rumored.'
You say, 'humor'
Sorin says 'They take themselves too seriously. So we like to tweak their tails from time to time. Why don't you help us [show them] humor again.'

You say, 'show them'
Sorin says 'You seem a bit experienced to take on such a task, but you are still welcome at it! I may have a few tasks for you to go tweak their tails.'
You have been assigned the task 'Tuffein Mushrooms'.
Objective Instructions
Explore the Tuffein camp 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa
Steal some food from the Tuffein camp 0/3 Goru'kar Mesa
Return the stolen goods to Sorin 0/3 Goru'kar Mesa

Head to the Tuffein camp. Invis if KoS. Click the grey barrels for food. Nothing aggro’d me, even when clicking the barrels

Elder Vasile Task

You say, 'Hail, Elder Vasile'
Elder Vasile says 'Welcome to our village Bulce. I hope you have come with peace in your heart. We have had far too much [woe] in recent times, I think.'
You say, 'woe'
Elder Vasile says 'Indeed we have seen some hard days of late. Our estrangement with the Tuffein grows deeper every day. But more than that, my heart is broken for my [son] Adrian.'
You say, 'son'
Elder Vasile says 'My son, you see, is missing. He has gone off on some mad quest to save the village and it has been months since he returned to us. Each day I wait, hoping to see him return, and each night I lay awake afraid for his safety. He has ventured into the [roost] and it may be that this folly will be the end of my son.'
You say, 'roost'
Elder Vasile says 'High above this mesa roost the loathsome harpies and the equally foul griffons. Daily they swoop down into this area and make off with small creatures. They even kill, capture and harass my brothers constantly. Somehow the harpies came to be linked in my son's mind with the troubles between the two clans on the mesa and he set out to [resolve] the situation.'
You say, 'resolve'
Elder Vasile says 'Yes. Sadly it was the harpies that contributed, in a way, to the fissure between our clan and the Tuffein. Our disagreements go back many years into the past but there was a time, nearly ten years ago, when we were on the verge of reconciliation. There was a noble and charismatic Minohoten named Includas who was on the verge of uniting our peoples. He had negotiated for months with the Tuffein and had offered as a show of good faith to travel alone to their village. Such an act of courage might have bridged the gap between us. Unfortunately he was attacked and killed by harpies between our villages. That is why Adrian has gone seeking [revenge].'
You say, 'revenge'
Elder Vasile says 'Revenge, yes, but I fear it will not end well for him. Would you [seek] him out and ask him to return to me?'
You say, 'seek'
Elder Vasile says 'Thank you Bulce. Please return when you find him and tell me he is safe.'

You have been assigned the task 'Find My Son'.
Objective Instructions
Explore the entry to Blackfeather Roost 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa
Speak with Adrian 0/1 Blackfeather Roost
Speak with Elder Vasile 0/1 Goru'kar Mesa

Head to Blackfeather Roost, Adrian can be found in the Graveyard area
You say, 'Hail, Adrian'
Your task 'Find My Son' has been updated.
Adrian says 'Tell my father I am sorry, but my business here is too important. And if you are interested in helping here, please come back'

Head back to Minohten camp in Goru'kar Mesa
You say, 'Hail, Elder Vasile'
Your task 'Find My Son' has been updated.
You have delivered the news to Elder Vasile
You gain experience!!
Elder Vasile says 'I am glad for word of my son, but sad to hear he will not yet return. Thank you for returning to me and easing my mind about my son's safety.'

Costica Tasks

You say, 'Hail, Costica'
Costica says 'Why hello. It is great to meet you. We have [heard about] you.'
You say, 'heard about'
Costica says 'Yes. You have composed yourself with great valor, and unlike those silly [Minohten] we appreciate someone with your skills. Perhaps you will be willing to do a few [tasks] for us?'
You say, 'Minohten'
Costica says 'Have you already spoken with them? Have they already tried to delude you? Have they told you about [Nicoli]?'
You say, 'nicoli'
Costica says 'I bet they told you he is carefree. Well that is just a front. He enforces his will with an iron fist, and any who [oppose] him are removed from the tribe without a second thought. He ruthlessly chased us from the tribe, and then forced the minohten that stayed to put a kind face on it. It is all [lies].'
You say, 'oppose'
Costica says 'Devan did not oppose Nicoli, he simply disagreed with Nicoli. Nicoli finally decided that he could brook no disagreement and chased Devan and those that agreed with him away. It was a sad day.'
You say, 'tasks'
Costica says 'Those Minohten take themselves too seriously, so we like to tweak their tails from time to time. Why don't you help us [show them] humor again.'

Somehow, I have a feeling it's because Sony knows that 90% of the players have friends/etc who PL them and can go out with them for quests like this. *shrugs* There are not many who try to do these in a group around their own level, much less the few who try to dot hem on their own.

The obsession with exp grinding seems to have ruined some of the finer points of the game from long ago.

Quest: Research the Dromrek
# Oct 12 2006 at 11:45 PM Rating: Decent
Hail Scout Madu (loc -1950, 545, just west of the zoneline from Blightfire Moors); say "talk". I was offered two quests: this one is "Research the Dromrek." All steps take place in Goru'kar Mesa.

- Find the fork in the road near the Dromrek area. (This is the clearly-marked fork south of the zone into The Steppes.)
- Take a look at the cave entrance you see off to the west. (These are labeled "Giant Caves" on maps.)
- Be brave! Explore further into the cave. The first large room inside the caves has the trigger point near its entrance.
- Discover the extent of the Dromrek stomping grounds to the north. (Trigger is near the northern passage into the Griffin Valley.)
- Speak with Scout Madu.

Reward: Experience.

All mobs along the way could not see a camo'd 74 ranger.

Great Zone
# Oct 09 2006 at 6:28 AM Rating: Decent
I have to say I like this zone. I am level 55 and most of the mobs con green or lb. It is a great place to explore. There are some nice hidden areas and most folk could run around with levi and invis without much fear of random aggro. There are dark blue mobs over in the south west cormer to level 55 so I guess folk 45-55 could happily xp through the zone as they levelled up.

There are many quests as yet unreported here. The Riddokin(sp)scout camp just north of scout Madu has many quest givers and they are not kos so its easy to converese with them all. I did one quest that sent me to a hidden dryad grove (very pretty) on the top of a hill to find an npcs girlfriend. The quest yielded an earing whose stats improve as thier love grows. By the time they are picking out curtains and living together I expect the stats will be pretty reasonable :)

This zone reminded me why I play the game. I have done a lot of sitting camping zone ins gradually gaining experience. I had forgotten what fun it is to wander about somewhere new and it seems that the game designers have made it easier to do this. Yes the mobs can kill you but in general you have to pick on them first.

She should have smote him where he stood. And finally you dry ones, the way you stumble about, the way you ruin everything. Die dry one!'

Your task 'Tunare Save the Queen' has been updated.

45 level caster Robe quest

Hi,
Found a nice 45 level caster robe quest, may possibly be for any class armor quest where you kill the mesa bears till named Ursalua bear spawns. Kill named, loot quest item and turn in to Scout Madu. loc is -1950.00, 538.12, 26.09
Make sure to get the quest first before killing the named and looting the quest item. Otherwise the quest piece probably won't get you anything when turned in out of quest.

Great zone, good quests for level 45, you can get a whole set of gear for that level for any class even below their level (was 38 ranger who told me). Bears drop tons, and I mean TOMS of skins. Not sure about xp as i was too high (level 70) for 99% of the mobs. Some alright quests, decent loot (for it's level) and interesting zone. Had SoE on me so I out ran all mobs. A lot of kitable mobs as well as they being feared (panic animal). zone is like 33 to 50 I am guessing so if it's not to your likeing...Guess it's your problem, EQ is a big world, try other zones and leave this one for me. =)

Poking around with my 52 necro, it's a little disappointing. I bought the expansion partly on the promise that you could "level 1-75 without ever leaving the Serpent Spine Mountains" -- but there only seems to be one zone for 50-60, and that's this one. I haven't seen many dark blue mobs, and it's a little difficult to find your way through if you come in in the middle (I understand the 1-75 path is guided, so I'm assuming a character doing the 1-75 TSS path comes into this zone with some hints).

I guess it's nice that most of the the NPCs aren't KOS to Paineel Necros :)

The zone seems divides into multiple factions that may or may not be friendly to each other. At 52 I found the dark blue Centaurs to be indifferent and there was a quest giver that gave me a quest to go to blackfeather roost -- this quest "Rites of Passage I" seems to be a gateway quest. My assumption is that when I'm finished it, more centaur quests will open up. Until then, some centaurs are KOS -- so be careful about running through centaurs without conning them first (that was my second death this evening).

Two deaths and 52 lost twice.... I might need to get a group for exploring.

Note: I am at present a level 63 Druid. Most of the MOBS here con grey to me, there are some greens and some light blues. I have not yet found a way to manage the light blues on my own. They have hi aggro range, are social, and can kill me rather quickly. In fact, some outran my sow and I quickly gained some xp in hovering over my dead body.

There are a number of quest givers here; I saw some some mid-level armor quests and other quests to gather items, kill MOBs etc.

The really disappointing thing is the great amount of foraged items both here and in the Moor that seem to have no value at all (not quest or tradeskill related and vendors wont buy them) that very quickly filled my bags.)
