casting time calculation
# May 21 2004 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
How does casting time get calculated with multiple spell haste effects?

I know, spell haste focus effects do not stack, but there are AA abilities that reduce casting time.

For example, a druid spends 18 AAs and gets Quick Direct Damage 3. This gives a 10% decrease in spell casting times.

If this druid also wears a Ring of Dark Intellect (spell haste 3), and casts Fist of Karana (6 second casting time), what is the actual time?

With only a Ring of Dark Dntellect, I expect the time to be 5.1 seconds. With no Ring, but with QDD 3, I expect a 5.4 second casting time.

What happens when this druid has both? Are the percentages simply added, giving a casting time of 4.5? Or is the casting time figured in stages, giving a casting time of 4.6?

:edit: Rephrased my question so people like Unkempt could understand it.

Yep weapon talk in this quorum is newbie stuff, /ignore. Real question, does this effect stack with cleric spell haste line BoR??

Item effects, spell effects, and AA abilities should stack with each other. However two focus items won't stack.

Why the hell is everyone talking about a weapon this page is for spell haste 3. The point of a forum is to talk about the thing the page highlights - not whatever u feel like - sheesh.

Either that or my pages have got mixed up :)

Because when a melee type sees the word "haste" they assume it applies to increasing weapon speed. Spell Haste III, however, refers to decreasing CASTING time of all but the healing line of spells. Melees might want to think of this as "SpellHaste", not "Spell: Haste"

Actually Spell Haste works on nomral heals, just have to have a casting time of over 3 seconds...just doesn't work on Complete Heals

well i never saw a war bow kite, also when ur in melle range u CANT use ur bow !!!, also this will proc about 1 in 50 pulls, as far as using it for a WAR to hold agro, get haste get a weapon, and get ur *** out of the rangers face, Bow = ranger weapon, all u guys need in a bow is range. All i can say is ranger trueshot with AM 2k crits+, 1k crits with no trueshot, enough said, WAR and decent bow like this is a waste of time and effort from the raid force that presents a WAR over ranger to loot it.

*looks up at Ravox's post* apparently NOT a shaman or druid. It's a regeneration spell, not a HP buff.

Just buy it, use it and dont ask questions.

What that means is it increase 15 hp per tick, what means 15 hp each 6 seconds during the 15 minutes it lasts, so it heals for 2250 hp in total for only 300 mana. This is a regeneration type spell not a healing one, and you´d better have it when you reach 54, or people will have another reason (beside all they already have to not invite druids) to not invite you to their high lvl group.
