Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Guild Hall is no longer instanced.
I think, however, that after the Guild Hall is vacant for a certain amount of time, the transporter gets reset. I'll have to try it out (one of the few advantages of being in a family [i.e., not many people logged in] guild).

It is still instanced. And if the guild hall closes, your translocator pal turns back into a gnome if he had been customized. The other NPCs that you can customize do not revert when it closes.

The guild hall is still instanced, the load timer is much faster if someone else is in it before you try to zone in. though EQ's instancing is much faster loading than it used to be (same with missions).
Also it lasts for 10 minutes once you zone out, if someone zones in within 10 mins the portal will stay set, if not its back to nothing when you get back.

I have found that if you step into the "shower" with the stone in a bag, you port and keep the stone. Not used up....

someone in the guild went to undershore before you.
i can't recall properly now, but i think you have to have a stone in your possession for it to work. but, it doesn't matter what stone you have, you'll be asked if you want to travel to wherever the person before you went. pretty handy sometimes.

no, you need to purchase a stone from the gnome, then turn it into him to focus the geode to wherever you want to go. mind you, it will remain pointed at whatever the last turnin was until the guild hall either de-instances, or someone refocuses it somewhere else.

SoE should be shot in the head for the price they pu on the various zones, also, people setting portal to places like LS after you wasted enough to get to places like wos, should be shot in the head. Other than that, it's a nice feature.

Well, there's no one forcing you to buy these port stones. Do it the old fashioned way: spend an hour running through zones to get to where you want to go, or spend 20 minutes on PoK OOC'ing for a druid/wizard port to where you want to go.
