What is the benefit/detriment of this faction?

I see alot of pro's and not alot of con's to increasing/decreasing this rep. What is the pro/con to the anti-factions, Nok and Dark Tower?

Not sure why, but killed Scout Madu in Goru`kar Mesa and took a faction hit with Circle of the Crystalwing tonight. Just thought I would mention it. I have not noticed the faction hit before.
