I did the faction work as a Gnome Bertox necro on Yelinak TLP, August 2022. I began as KoS It wasn't too horrible.
Iksar Bandit cave in Warsilisk Woods was my favorite spot. Some mobs on about a 5min repop, the rest on about 12min. Keep the bandit cave clear for about 12 hours, and you should reach Kindly. At kindly you can do the an iksar hermit's quest dialogue over and over again to warmly. What is odd is that this faction capped at 50 points to Ally, so it has been impossible to reach ally. You do not need Ally for skullcap quests howerver. I completed as a Gnome at Warmly.
Another tip is to get together about 5,000 bone chips and turn them in to the bone chips quest Trooper to be non-kos in Cabilis. Good luck!

The Iksar Necromancers in Cabilis West are known as the Brood of Kotiz.The easiest way to gain faction with them is to slay the Outcast Iksar of the Forsaken faction. They are closely linked to the faction of the rest of the Iksars.

Data Point: I got to 199 Amiable faction to Warmly - and this is when I got the prompt for the faction increases at the Hermit. This is of 10/5/2020 Aradune TLP.

While we still need some NPC hits, and the skullcaps beyond rank 3, it appears the most efficient route to maxing this faction is:
1. get high amiable... by killing outcast iksars. Highest concentration with decent respawn time appears to be warsliks woods (Bandit lord camp, ruins on way south, and caves in south) with +1 hits. The necromancer skullcap quests #2 and #3 give +10 hits, but you could probably kill 500 bandits in the time it takes to do those.
2. hail the Iksar Hermit and tell him you are a "great sorcerer". It still works in 2016. Confirmed on Phinny progression, by me... on a level 40s rogue.

My Paladin finished this yesterday and got Necro faction on hand ins.
EDIT: This was from hand ins to Trooper Mozo. I distinctly remember the faction increases because I had not seen Necro faction hits before this nor have I seen them after. Strange indeed.

As a Drakkin Necro I needed illusion potions to /con above dubiously with Legion of Cabilis (which I had maxed days before)and am maxed at Kindly this way.

I've slaughtered the explorers and collected their knives for days. After about 900 to 1000 knives later, I'm maxed with all the Cabilis factions except Brood of Kotiz, and get this: I'm still considered dubiously unless I'm wearing an Iksar illusion. Go Veeshan >.<

Just finished up grinding Kotiz faction a few days ago. I'm a human necro worshipping Inny, I killed exactly 1101 iksars on forsaken faction in WW to get amiable. The jump from indiff happened sometime in the last hundred, so I'm not sure of the precise numbers needed.
What I did was clear the bandit cave, then run to the little lake just south of the zone in from OT, killed the six mobs there (three on either side.) Then I ran along the river and cleared the ruins on the north shore midway between the lake and the giant fort...there are six mobs here also. Then i would run back to the cave which had respawned at this point. I would get about a hundred an hour this way.
Even though this only raises faction with Legion of Cabilis and Brood of Kotiz (both of which are amiable now) I found that a number of other npcs in Cabilis are dubious or indiff to me. I assume these are on multiple factions which include the ones I raised.

faster than bone chips is explorer survival knives from the explorers in LOIO.
Each turn in of 4 knives is like turning in 30-50 sets of 4 bone chips, or so it seems.
And the knives stack and are a pretty common drop.
Like 6-7 explorers spawn in their little tower plus one lead explorer who is basically the same but has a wide aggro range and is a pally so will LOH himself once and maybe get off a little heal or two before he falls.
As a 57 necro the tower is a joke... no exp, and if the mobs have done 5% damage to me or my pet it was a miracle for them... heh heh
Was scowling with Bodli (sp?) in FoB before, after 7 stacks of knives was dubious to him and max on legion of cabilis faction.
Plan to do another 6 stacks of knives just to be on the safe side.
Been setting up in between one of the three packs of outcast iksars in warsliks woods at night with pet... mobs pop, aggro me, pet takes offense, kills the offending mob, I get faction... kill roughly 300 iksars a night that way while dreams of demi lich skullcap dance in my head lol
Should be ready to do the quest soon... have all the bits thru 8 save one or two... so once the factioning is done will have the cap in short order.
And I know I could just use the illusions but Im old school... I like being able to go there safely on my own with only my own abilities... and I only need to do this once ( well... twice... when my sk gets ready for his Greenmist quest heh heh)

Anyone know what the minimun faction required to start the 1st skullcap quest is? I'm a DE necro an im apprehensive to Brood of Kotiz atm. I can ask about the apprentice skullcap an he tells me i need 4 sarnak hatchling brains, but when i turn them in he says he has no use for this item an gives them back. Any info is appreciated meanwhile back to killing outcast iksars. 8)
My Negro was a bad lizard. he lost some faction with his lizard necro guild in cabwest so I had the task of factioning to do in order to get my last necro ranking. WHAT I DID:
There are 3 camps of Iksar on Forsaken faction in TRak Tooth near seb entrance (starts at -2389 by -3977) and loops around to the NE. The spawn time here is approx 27 mins. I bound myself here, then would clear all 3 camps, I then would Levant myself to the EJ zoneline and zone into EJ, once in EJ I would run to the NW just past the great staircase along the bottom of cliff, there is another Iksar camp, I would kill these and run along North wall just North of the water and there is yet another camp, I would clear this camp then I would simply gate back with approx 9 mins to spare before I got repops in Trak Tooth.

In the Lake of Ill Omen, there is a tower filled with Explorers from Firiona Vie, who drop Explorer Survival Knives. Turn in 4 of these to the Trooper NW of the Tower (under a 4-pillar structure). This will up faction with every faction in Cab EXCEPT the necro guild. I'd say 1 of 3 explorers drop a knife, and it seems to give such a hit that two stacks of knives is equivilent to one BAG of bonechip stacks. Only drawback is that on FV server they are TLC to those over about 26.
I have no clue what faction or level is required to do this. My iksar monk level 51 is amiable now. At low levels he would not give the quest out (last checked around level 20 something). Went back and tried again at 51 and he gave it out. Just tell him "I am a great sorceror" and you will get a positive faction hit with Brood of Kotiz. I just set up a hotbutton, started reading a book and just tapped away.

Finely after handing in 25 bags of bonechips (about half of these I farmed) and killing 400 outcast iksar, I can use all necro vendors, 1 monk and 1 SK vendor ,best of all the bank .

APPREHENSIVLY to necro guild and all there vendors bonus they sell food water spells and various stuff.
DUBBIUOSLY to bankers (which i can use) and vendors in east Cab which I cant use

I would just like to say that ive done 8 backpacks of chips as of today. I was scowl to all crusaders and was dubious to troopers after 3 packs I was apprehensive to troopers after 5 packs I was indiff to troopers and at 7 packs I am amiable to trooper mozo. At 7 packs the crusaders Quag(Shaman faction) is now glares but Bodli is still scowls. Ill try to add to this later as i do more backpacks and such.

YEah Quarg is not on Necro Faction he is on Trooper Faction FYI . I am Can't get any better with all of the Cabilis Faction except Necromancers aka Kortiz or however you spell it .
If you have information on how to raise this faction quicker then just killing X number of mobs please post if not . Then I'll just spend the next week killing the same dumb mob over and over and over ETC .

Actually Crusader Quarg must be on scaled mystics faction, he cons the same as Oracle Vauris through all of my factioning (was glaring when oracle glaring, dubious when dubious etc.) and always was 2 faction ratings below Bodli (Scowled when bodli was apprensive etc.) and this whole time i had not worked on Brood of Kotiz faction, but was doing the bone chip quest, eventually becoming nonkos to Quarg, without raising Kotiz. Therefore, her cannot be on Kotiz faction, and must either be harder to please as a crusader, or on another faction raised by the bone chips quest, which i'm guessing it is in fact the scaled mystics not only because he is involved in a shaman quest, but because he cons the same as the Oracle near Kaesora, Vauris, and because the merchants, guards, and banker are all ally. Thanks see ya :P

If you kill the tortured librarian in Kaesora, it reduces your Brood of Kotiz faction. (I would also assume, killing the other librarians does too.)

I just wanted to warn everyone about the iksar hermit upon zone in from LOIO into West Cab. If you haven't gotten your faction with Brood of Kotiz but, got the rest of Cab factions, this hermit will kill you. He is a necro on the Brood of Kotiz faction.
I found that out the hard way last night! Also, I have been killed by a necro at the bar near the bank at night in East Cab. But, I know that has been posted here before.
If you guys know of any other necros (besides the necro guild), that I should be aware of, please please post them. Thanks!!

Librarian Zimor almost killed me last night. I am not really sure where he/she is but I was standing in front of the SK guild masters when I started getting casted on. Definely on the necro faction since I am amiable to everything else. Thank god feigh death worked.

I've turned in 27 full back packs of bone chips thats: 160x27... so over 4,000 bone chips turned in, killed many a iksar oucast (manslayers,brigands,pariah's,footpads etc...)
My factions are as follows: troopers= aimable/ crusaders=dubious/im still kos to the bankers
my question is this: what faction are the bankers in cabilis on?? i would like to be able to bank there
