Got released during Legacy of Ykesha but got moved to Planes of Power on progression servers.

In the depths of the Lavastorm Mountains there is only one ruler. But even his burning breath and power have their limits. Rumor has it that there is wealth and danger in locations even further below the boiling lands than Lord Nagafen can reach.

As the only entrances into the Caverns of Exile are through scorching lakes of lava, people have a tendency to burn to death before even setting foot in these caverns. Assuming you make it past this first hurdle, there are many other dangers which could lead to an untimely demise.

The site of a struggle for power between the Vrodak Tribe and Goblins of Fire Peak, these caverns play host to a variety of volatile creatures, from tentacle terrors and festering goos to fiery imps, flame mephits, and fire elementals. Past the kobolds and goblins lurks further danger, with a clan of powerful fire giants, swarms of fireback spiders and their queen, and a powerful demon by the name of Culthor...

If you're here for the Hunter's achievement the named pretty much do not spawn in a given spot but in a "wing". So if you are after specific named mobs you need to clear the entire wing and they can spawn in numerous spots. This is helpful as it makes this one of the easier zones to finish the Hunter's achievement.

To get there, find the zone-out marked CE on your map, when yr in Sol B.

When you zone over, make sure you are completely submersed in the lava or you will end up zoning into Sol A. Thats right - if your head is popping out out of the lava, or you are levitating above it, you'll zone into Sol A. You need to be completely submersed when you zone, or you'll never get there.

This zone will likely be up forever now, since it and the halls of betrayl are BOTH used in the rogue epic 1.5, just a FYI for those asking about it
Minimum level??

I regularly come here with my Warrior and Cleric to have some fun 2 boxing the nameds and really enjoy this quiet zone. Recently I thought my Mage was big enough to join me and my Druid also. They are 57 and 55 respectively.

While my 75 War and 66 Clr can zone in just fine, my Mage and Druid can not zone in. Any thoughts on this?

When they hit the zoneline they appear in Sol A for some reason.
How to zone in
# Aug 01 2006 at 5:21 AM Rating: Decent
Go to sol A, south into the gobby fort. Into the main room and down into the lava river, eventually u will need to duck (using my barbarian). This will take you form Sol A to Sol B.

Once in Sol B, turn around as if you wanted to go back to Sol A... now you entered SOl C. In Sol C, the lava burns more. So be quick!

Helps to have a SoE to spare you the hassle.

...ok it will take to long to tell you how to get here, try to read the post below...or ask someone who knows how to get there show you.

1) 69 Necro...170 Fr...on the Sol B side lava did 10 dmg a tic...once I zoned it...it did 66 dmg a tic...I had both Harmsheild and Quivering Veil up just in case...didnt need to use either one (around 4k hp with only self buffs)

2) This zone has MAD aggro range...thats not saying its not soloable...but dont run around to look for a good camp spot, because alot of mobs C-Invis...and they may not hit hard...but when you have 9 of those little goblin dudes hitting you with spells...FD will NOT save you.

3) I love this zone, db/lb cons to a 69...soloable but not wise if you cant maintain crowd control.

...otherwise this is just a great place to go if you get tired of people trying to find you :)

# Jul 21 2004 at 11:48 PM Rating: Decent
this zone is still up as of July 21st 2004, and have to say its a nice untap zone to get some pretty nice item that a lvl 65 solo class can do with little problems.
RE: still up
# Jul 22 2004 at 4:24 AM Rating: Decent
The xp isn't too terribly bad either as a solo class.

Though it does get lonely.
Just wondering

Is this zone still up? I thought it and Halls of Betrayel were only temporary? So as of May 10, 2004, are this and Halls of Betrayel still available? I hope they are, heard that they gave fairly good exp for high 50's and low 60's. Also want to get a Golem Heart Ring from HoB.

I have also heard a rumor that if you are below lvl 46 you cannot find this zone. Much like the planes, you cannot zone in...but it doesn't tell you anything - you just jump in the lava, NOT zone into SolC - and probably die of lava dmg trying to find the zin you can't get into anyhoo.

We had a level 45 enchanter tag along with us on our last expedition here. He zoned in just fine. The experience was pretty sweet for him as well. Suprisingly, most of his spells landed on the entry mobs, however deeper in, he had problems.

zoning
# Dec 09 2003 at 8:09 PM Rating: Decent
This isnt screwed up at all ..its simple. If you zone into CoE from Sola ..you get onto Goblin side. If you zone into CoE from Solb..you get onto vrodak side. You can also evac to goblin side. And to the lava ..yes it sucks but you should make it if you have at least 2000hp
Is it still Open

Ok I am working on the conversion quest for the green scale. Fire Giant Embers drops here of 3 of the giants. Someone told me that this zone is no longer open. Does anyone know this for a fact either way. And if it is closed what of the quest, does another mob someplace in Norath drop this piece.

A group of us were camping fire giants hopeing to get a named to pop, when I looked down and noticed my xp bar hadn't moved a tick. No one's had. We ended up camping them for 2 hours, and none of us got ANY xp (I was on aa xp). GM said that they are bugged, so if you are xping, don't kill the giants.
Sol A zone in ?

For zone-in from SolA, go south to the goblin fort, lower level, shrink yourself, and drop off the lavafall. Easiest way to get there is to go down into the lava hole in the main hall and take the door to the east.
Bad bug

Yesterday we went deep and in three different spots after a mob was pulled he warped on puller or something and agroed 2 dozen mobs or so. (Too many to actually count but I am not exagerating, the time we wiped I counted 13 and missed allot of mobs I know cause we were covered in them)

The mobs come from pretty far too cause our group had a large area cleared each time this happened.

I bugged this (could not figure out how to put in a description so I put pathing) and I /feedbacked it.

Anyone else seen this?

never had problem with lava
# Aug 17 2003 at 3:37 AM Rating: Default
Lol, ive been to SoL C 4 times and never had any problems with group not zoning in together. Easy way to do it is levitate to top of lava falls in nagafans and go down and forward under lava. You zone real fast and after zone in keep going forward till u exit lava. Me being a SK i use my harmshield so i take no damage and HS lasts 18 seconds and i haven't taken any lava damage yet so its safe to say less then 18 seconds of traveling under lava. Last night group i went in with had 1 caster taking less then half a bubble of damage lol. Now swimming from sol a seemed like longer swim but again i took nop damagfe while using HS so i would say less then 18 seconds swim time that route. Hope this helps!

ffs i want to go but do you have to swim for minutes at a time in deadly lava to get in? i fear my casters wont make it with me. what a friggin gei idea for a zone in. never been and i hate it already.
Did you expect this to be easy?
# Aug 12 2003 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
Come on, people! Did you think you were just going to waltz in and whack on whatever was there? At least you won't find anyone bringing their lowbies in the zone to get gimped.

Any casters looking to go here are going to need Virtue to make it through relatively intact (and a maxxed swim skill). Just relax, don't lose your head and surface as soon as you can to get your bearings.

Once I zoned at the lava waterfall, I was taking 80 a sec with a FR of 121. This is definitely no picnic.
