We hit this guy because the ring he drops is very nice for casters with buffs. But we got the common drop which was this 2hs. Bezerker won it in the group. Looks like the Luclin 2hs swords. If you want to know what it looks like, just look at the Tae Ew 2hs sword. Looks exactly the same.
67 cleric and 67 mage (me) killed him no problem, dropped shadowflame, and it rotted =/ Fun fight, lasted about 1.5 mins. exp is slow in this dungeon for our lvls now, even though they're almost all dark blues
People constantly flame items for being "not all that great" compared with all the uber gear THEY have. Was there first time last night on a guild raid/explore and won it on a roll. As a 51 warrior with mostly high 50s and low 60s I was the baby of the group but was able to hold my own and be an add tank and protect the healers/casters. Sol C is an awsome zone and we had a lot of fun with only a few rezzes and no wipes. To be finally able to get double attacks worth over 500 points is nice for me. Certainly not "not all that great."
this weapon isnt all that great, there are way better out there and some of them are way easier to get. Sol C is a mean zone when you dont know what you are doing and if you dont its not even worth the trouble. Sol C is an awesome zone.

Posted:Feb 18 2004 at 9:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) We rape Sol C every time we go in there. Heili is mearly an zone entrance named mob. He is an easy kill for any group 60+ and this is his common drop.
when i get back to playen im gonna get a group of friends and go for this......its a nice wep 43/44 and considering its a type 4 ( guessing it is ) u can put either a anger 3 or a dd proc in it.....make it a even better weapon
I'm not sure but I think I may be the only person on Ayonae Ro to have this weapon.....if your out there and have this leave a message here...just curious to find out. I spam it in OOC in PoK, Nex, and Baz whenever someone is talking about how ubber their weapons are, and noone's even heard of Sol C before let alone the weapon. The only thing I don't like about this weapon is how slowly it hits. Even w/ enchanter hastes I still hit slower...making it more effecient to use my Mace of the Fallen Crusader.

I know what you mean. Im on Saryrn, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I am in a group, people ask me to link this to them. I dont know if it is because of the graphic or because they see the damage, or what. Then when they ask where I got it, they always say "Whats solc?" This is a great reward for how minimal the risk is.
I picked this nice little sword up the other day. Here's what I got:
First, the mob is lvl 65 and hits like it. When we pulled it, our 63 Warrior didn't bother telling us and our cleric had not returned from an LD. She was promptly slain. Meanwhile, I just happened to be standing up to look for the next mob. When I noticed the named mob, I thought to myself, "Sweet... finally a named mob!" (We had been camping the place for a while and hadn't seen much action as of late). The next thing I know the tank is laying FD on the ground. "That's not right," I tell myself. Then it dawns on me... I'm the second assist. So I throw myself him and start yelling for everyone to assist me. Next, I check my health... "Oh crap! I've just gone from 5k hp to 1.5k hp in a matter of seconds." I start yelling at the druid to start healing me. Complete Heals = 10 seconds so I promptly fumble my hotkeys and sit down! I'm panicing now but somehow I managed to stand up, accidentaly start casting a spell, duck to interupt it, unduck and cast LH on myself. "Whew." Things should be under control now, but just in case, I'll pop my stun that works on mobs up to lvl 60 on him, to buy myself some time before the LH and to get some aggro. "Your target is immune to the stun effect of this spell?! Grrr... what lvl is this guy?" I con'd him and blink... This guy is red to me (I'm lvl 60 and my brother had just got done explaining how everything is blue to lvl 60). So right about then was when I think I really figured the whole incident out.
Hope you enjoyed the story... but in case you skipped it, to make a long(ish) story short(ish): He's a lvl 65 mob so at least tell your friends that he's incoming. :)
Okay, second... As I said above, I was lucky enough to also win this beautiful thing. The reason I love it so much is because of the 2-hand weapon AA's and the extra defense this offers. When I'm tanking as a Paladin, I have to decide between a 2-hander or a 1-hander with a shield. For bigger stuff, I usually opt for the 1h/shield combo because of the increase in stats/AC/HP. When I'm in a DPS role, I obviously don't use 1-handers because they just don't tend to put out as much DPS, especially with Speed of the Knight, Knights Advantage and 2-hand Bash. This sword integrates the two... I get a weapon that allows me to keep up the DPS, while still maintaing the extra defensive and stat bonuses (Note: I can confirm the skill mod is Parry, not 2hs). Now, don't get me wrong, when I'm not tanking I probably won't be using this thing... I'll pull out a Windblade or Two Tined Corpse Pitchfork type weapon.
drops in cave on first left after zone in. Spiritmaster spawn all the way to the back. past the indifferent level 65 mob. will be a dead end with a chair and some reg. mobs. when you zone in. there is a cave to the left that dead-ends. that is it. Ok, no place holder. definately time or trigger mob. just keep the place cleared out to ooze. if you get to ooze you go to far. nice sword. looks like a luclin model sword. grats me.
i realize its prolly better suited for a hybrid , but i wont get into the stupid who's it better for rant(read what classses it says, thats who its suited for). I just want to know from another warrior which he/she thinks is better this or the windblade?
looking at the stats: this has str, vs WB has dex etc etc etc
Imo Windblade beats Shadowflame, ratio is much better.
The hps on shadowflame is nice, but ... I'd prefer windblade, without a doubt.
Stats on weapons arent ALL that different, and after all, in the end, ratio is all that matters. Why do you think some people use massive dragonclaw shard?
28 dam, 30 delay, 1hs for pally/sk .. Stats: +3 int
Puting all the stats into consideration as well as the dmg/del on this and windblade, I'd actually prefer this even if i already had a windblade (I think). This is 43/44 and windblade is 50/44 but with crappy stats. With the 3% 2hs mod, this might be quite a bit closer in damage output if the user has max'd 2hs. Of course, I am a Shadowknight. If I were a warrior prior to elemental planes, I think I'd go for 2 good 1hs's with awesome dmg/del, hate producing procs if applicable, and maybe some HP on both. I've been here for the Spiritist's death 4 times now and ring every time. Gonna try him again I hope soon.
You have 22 slots on your character to fill. Out of all those slots, only 3 can be used for weapons, if you are using a 2-hander and disqualifying a bow because your a warrior, you now have one slot for a weapon. This leaves 20 other slots on your character to fill for stat increasing.
Knowing this, I dont think you should sacrifice even ONE point of damage for more stats, because you have so many other opportunities in those 20 other slots. Why sacrifice the damage in the ONLY slot that matters when using a 2-hander, its just not worth it.
In my opinion, for any melee class, you should never scarifice that damage for stats, regardless of their importance in the long run. You cannot substitute the damage in any other slots, but when it comes to the stats, you have so many options.
Just so you know most wars use bows, and warriors arn't dmg, the higher the hp the better. this would be a very nie weapon and i personaly think this > windblade.
I'm gonna have to disagree with ya a bit here. While I agree that usually a warrior is looking for hps first, when it comes to weapons, most warriors at least have a hate generating set up and a max damage set up. The hate gen (hopefully with low delay and agro producing procs and as many hps as you can find) for when you're MT and the max damage (preferably with higher delay and no proc or low agro proc) for when you aren't. If you are MTing with a windblade or this, you probably won't have agro for long (big delay, no procs etc), so both of these weapons fall into the max damage catergory, and when it comes to straight DPS the windblade beats down this sword in a big way. So as a damage weapon windblade >> shadowflame, and if you're looking for a taunting weapon I would recomend against either. If you are looking for a good taunting 2hdr I'd recomend a Greatstaff of Thunder which are selling for about 1/3 the price of a windblade. 31dam 30delay decent stats and nice hate producing proc.
/agree wih Steric's post, as for 2hb training, I raised my wars 2hb from 30 to 200+ in 5 hours in order to use the GSoThunder effectively, then spent 2k to get the 2hb trained up to 220 and have maxed the skill the rest of the way simply thru use. Its not hard and doesn't take very long. Simply get a shammy focus/hos/dex buff, and an SoV from a chanty and your dex should be right up there, you are hasted... get a low delay 2hb weap, damage doesnt matter, and beat on some groups mobs. GSoThunder is down to 1kish on Luclin now, and is a great aggro weap for a warrior. For a 1k weapon that gives full stats at mid 50, its hard to beat.
for being a zone in mob this is a great treasure. if u r looking for a specific location cant give 1 he is a wanderer but he is before the oozes and such didnt get enough people for the gate keeper but will eventually. I got this also just thought id say something more than i got 1 to drool over =)
I got 1 of these yesterday as well, guild called me down from POD as I ws playing my shaman. This will be in my bag where ever I go. I use the BBS as my main weapon and was compareing the shadowflame to it. Seems to me the BBS just out does it a bit on the tanking side but I realy like the skill mod to 2hs on the SF and nice saves vs fire and cold which I lack in a tad. Didn't seem to have any trouble holding argo with it had a 65 monk and a 60 rogue on the mobs back didn't notice any HP's going down on them. Any ways I would like to thank my great guild on calling me for the shadowflame...
