...i cant speak for actual melee toons, but for a necro i just think this would be fun, i have Copper Hammer of Striking as my weapon, which actually doesnt have any Int on it, only 35 mana, but procs 179 dmg...i have a better range item too. all that aside...who doesnt want to walk around carrying a big stick to hit things with? and for the earlier post talking about casters who melee...yes we do melee...at least any good necro should...we spend our lives snaring/fearing a mob...we can either sit and med...or get up and follow the mob...im sorry if i get tired of /cast /cast /cast.
You can only put a weapon in your secondary slot if you are a class that can dual wield (so for this item, rangers and beastords can equip in secondary).
My 59 wizard just looted this today in Sol C while hunting with a bunch of friends.. Nice graphic and a nice upgrade from my Staff of the Wheel that I swapped it out from... Now to figure out how hard it'll hit for once I max out my 1hb skill...
I found this item one day in the bazaar on Saryn for 10k not knowing what it was going to look like but hoping it was cool. I equip it in my range slot and don't think I would trade it for anything else in the game unless I got the same graphic. I always switch to my range item as the graphic that shows everytime I log in or zone someplace and I get a lot of tells wanting to know what "staff" I have? I get inspected a lot for this item too. Besides my lizzy this is the best 10k I have spent. That was 3 months ago and I still havent seen another for sale in our bazaar.
this is ok...but for the money ive seen in bazaar its a rip off, go take a look at sorcerous bowl( about 800p on tarew marr) for INT casters..almost exact same thing without ratio, and what INT caster at 50 is going to melee....anyway just my 2cp
Actually, there are rare occasions when we casters would melee a bit.
Last night we were fighting mobs with obscene magic resistance. Nobody could land spells. My pet was in there, but I wanted to contribute more. I waded on in, wishing I had a "real" weapon and maxxed melee skills. "you try to hit a mob, but miss!" "You hit a mob for 7 damage". It's frustrating to say the least.
In a situation like I just described I'm never going to do enough damage to pull aggro off a tank. Why not try to max out my melee skills and contribute a little extra damage?
ROFL !!!!!! Glad your on a different server so I never have to group with you.
Did that statement have any point at all? If you don't melee at all past 50, thats fine. Doesn't mean no one else does. Also doesn't mean that a meleeing spellcaster past the level 50 is wrong. Anyone can play their class any way they want. I happen to have a 65 cleric that melee's all the time, with a weapon that has a 530% chance to proc. Do alot of damage, and I usually stay FM too... What a waste it would be if I did not melee, eh?
If you don't have something nice and/or constructive to say, don't say something at all...
It really isn't a knight weapon, they shouldn't be considered for it..hell, an Ebon Mace is more damaging. This say's priest and caster all over it...would be good for beastlords too.
why is it retarded that a semi descent monk weapon would be not useable by monks? I mean there is a monk/bst 30/30 2hb with a 100+DD proc that drops by the zone in? Please don't complain.
Love the graphic on this thing. Looks pretty wicked as its got a glowing bulb surrounded by double triangle blades. Dropped from named "something Tenticle Terror" over in the caverns/small bridge portion of the zone
