Jaled Dar`s shade may be found at +1590, -120. The simple way to get into Jaled Dar's lair is to have a rogue with a 210+ skill in lockpicking to open the door. If simplicity isn't your thing, or you just want the key for yourself, you can obtain it one of two ways: Either a quest offered by Zlandicar or a quest offered by Neb.
Once you've found your way into the lair: You say, 'Hail, Jaled Dar`s shade' Jaled Dar`s shade says 'Mortal! You MUST aid me. I will have my revenge, and my rest!' You say, 'How can I aid you?' Jaled Dar`s shade says 'You must wake The Sleeper. He is our salvation, he will restore a new golden age to Norrath. It was a terrible mistake to subdue him, jealousy and envy led us to do it. I see all of this clearly now.' You say, 'Who is The Sleeper?' Jaled Dar`s shade says 'Kerafyrm, the best of us, what we should be. We imprisoned him in a timeless slumber aeons ago. I know how to release him, but I am no longer of the flesh, so I cannot do it myself. But you can accomplish this task!' You say, 'What task?' Jaled Dar`s shade says 'When the tomb was closed and the entry sealed, many dragons participated in the ceremony. They invested portions of their essence into the seal. The seal is part of them now. With the right talismans, I can show you how to make a key that will allow one to pass, as if they were of the First Brood. If you do not wish to do this for the good of all, perhaps you will be willing to do it for material riches. Priceless treasures are stored in the tomb, yours for the taking, once you are inside and have released The Sleeper.' You say, 'What talismans?' Jaled Dar`s shade says 'Sontalak, Lendiniara, Klandicar, Yelinak, and Zlandicar are all that are left alive of those who were involved in the sealing of the tomb. Each has a talisman. Bring me any one of these items, or a large enough piece from one of the talismans from a dead first brood, and I shall unlock its power, which will allow you entry into the tomb.' You'll need to give him either a talisman from any of the five dragons of the first brood mentioned or a Shard of Hsagra's Talisman, which is dropped uncommonly from top giants (King Tormax, Derakor the Vindicator, The Statue of Rallos Zek, Velketor the Sorcerer). Jaled Dar`s shade says 'Very well done. Here is how you unlock the entry. Seek out a great dragon statue in the Eastern Wastes, and use this key there. I never got this key and never seen this guy (4 monthes since purchase..) but as the main thing said you CAN kill the guy to get the key? your guild could just camp him? (if this quest is as hard as they say then the killing of the quest giver is probably faster. if not easier)

I think it means the key to jaled dars shade can be looted from Zlandicar, not the Sleepers Tomb key.

Actually the sleeper is not Veeshan's first born but is the result of the illegal liason between Vox and Naggy.
My question is that we have a guild on my server that has keys to Sleeper's Tomb but has only killed Yelinak once. So do you need the talisman from all five dragons or just one?

Kerfyrm is a child of Veeshan, a bad dragon the other dragons sealed within the bubble to keep him from growing to his true size.

uh.. no. actually he's right. kerfyrm is the child of vox and naggy, hence the pink color he has.

He's partially right. Kerfyrm is the child of 2 mixed dragons (assumed to be red and white), but EQ lore does not specifically identify the actual names and colors of the 2 dragons.
Vox and Naggy wanted to repeat the mating and have their own child. They were exiled when their plan was discovered. Vox and Naggy are actually imprisoned in those caves to prevent them from getting together.

Is there any way to get the items needed for this quest without killing dragons? I am currently at maxed faction with CoV and hope to max faction with Yelinak some day. Has anyone with maxed Yelinak faction ever tried asking him about this quest?
By the way, I have heard of people killing Yelinak and then going to fix their faction killing giants in Kael. Does anyone know of killing Yelinak has a permanent effect on Yelinak or CoV faction like killing Lucan does on Freeport Militia faction?

Killing velious boss mobs has a profound effect on your faction, you drop like 3 factions I think, maybe more, so if you're amiable you end up as dubious

I've just got one question. How can anyone say "The Sleeper has 2.4 billion HPs?" If I'm not mistaken, since nobody has killed him, or come anywhere remotely close to it, there is absolutely no way to know if he has 1 million, 1 billion, or 1 trillion hitpoints. Can someone please tell me where the number "2.4 billion" comes from? I'm curious as to how anyone arrived at that figure.
showeq shows you level and max hp of everyone in the zone
it has something to do with the mechanics of computer programming.. 2.4 billion is one of those (by 8) numbers.. or something like that

That is not to say that he does not have 1.4 billion groups of 1.4 billion hps (completly probable and easy to program in). There is no real way to tell his exact hp until he is killed but chances are it is either around 1.4 billion or around 1,960,000,000,000,000,000 hp (1.4 billion squared). Either way quite invincible to any force even the combination of all the best on all the servers (yea they would dide by lag faster then by him =p)

You guys depress the hell out of us lower levels. I am only 17 now, and the thought of an apacolyps by some Super killer dragon scares me. I, as well as others look out to you 40 plus-ers with respect, and admiration, but if this is how you describe what will or will not occur, maybe it's time to start a newbie...

Why don't we just get everyone on the server to attack this guy. It's just as likely to happen as the 300 people. Maybe get 30 lvl 60 Wizards to cast Disintegrate and then Venge. of Al'Kabor. We could also try talking to this thing. Well that's just my sarcastic 2cp

Has anybody been able to get any pics of this ticking nuclear dragon??? I havent found any and I keep seeing posts about screenshots!
Anyone wonder why this guy wants to actually Wake the sleeper? .. Its certain death for all when this happens, has anyone asked why Jaled Dar's Shade wants this to happen?... is he disgruntled? does he want to take the sleepers power? if so, maybe he knows a way to weaken the sleeper. these are the little question that nag me when i think about this Quest of sorts..

Kerafym is the son/daughter of two different kinds of dragons. After seeing what happened with it, Vox and Naggy were exiled because they wanted to mate, but as they are diff kinds of dragons, it would be another kerafym. Kerafym's power rivaled veeshan herself, so they had it locked away. Dunno about killing it however.. It's not in the game yet, i assume...

apparently there was a away to engage and kill the dragon called "the sleep" earlier in velious. and yes a few guilds killed him. BUT that mob is NOT Kerafyrm..kerafyrm is the awakened sleeper and cannot be killed..the way he will be killed or banished is by a code in the quest or something, not by players. perhaps veeshan will banish him from the realm cause hell cause too much damage. who knows, well just wait and see eh? =)

He drops Sleeper keys and the taslismens are not for the Key quest. its for something different. Klandicar is a pushover btw and so is Zlandicar don't worry about these dragons... its Yelinak thats hard. Trust me you get a group of 50 skilled players a good healing system and a way to dodge dots your set. GL and enjoy! Feppas

Im probably going to be called a moron but , is there any way to put him back to sleep ??? any quest or something that you give him to stop killing . just asking. Verant does not put something in game that can not be killed. There must be a way to render him or stop him from attacking.

According to Verant the entire script is done. Theres more to it than just 'Kill warders, die to Sleeper, he despawns'. Firstly, Nagafen shouts to Lady Vox. Nextly, Sleeper then moves on to Dragon Necro and then to Temple of Veeshan I believe. Many events and scripts are all triggered. Question is, what are you supposed to do? It the goal is to indeed kill the dragon, it is possible by the time he gets to Temple of Veeshan he is indeed hurt enough to be a reasonable encounter (since its assumable he slaughters every npc on the way). Its sorta the 'end of the world' type thing. Since the goal of it isn't known, its difficult to say what to do.. and unfortuntaly no group has gotten together to assist in documenting what all happens. Sigh, this is gunna be one of those things =p
I also heard that the scripts include the posible intervention of Tunare, and other gods.. dunno if this is true, i tryed to ask Tunare about Kerafyrm/The Sleeper/Sleeper, and many combinations but alas she says nothing.. id really like to know what happens, i wish some of them uber guilds could figure it out, id applaud their efforts 8)

DK didn't kill the sleeper, they woke him up, fought for a few secs, then died. SS's from the webpage point to that and the posts made by Onyyn and others basically say he is unkillable. Few million HP, quad 1200's, zone wide DT, AE doing 5k...if there is any way to beat diminishing returns of lag and have 1200 ppl in zone then he -might- be killed.

And mind you, FoH has been farming Sleeper's Tomb like there is no tomorrow. If anyone knows, its them.
The Sleeper is, in fact, unkillable. He has 2.4 billion hit points, is on a 1 hour script after which he will depop. There is no way that anyone can generate 2.4 billion hit points of damage in one hour. When he is finally spawned, he will kill every PC and NPC in Sleeper's Tomb, then repeat that act in Temple of Veeshan, then finish with the utter annihilation of Skyshrine.
There is a rumor that this script will mark the end of Norrath as we know it and perhaps mark the beginning of the transition to EQ2.

Jaled Dar wants the Sleeper awakened to annihilate everything and end his suffering and imprisonment in the Necropolis. This also will extract his revenge on Veeshan for having turned her back on him when he fought Venril's Son. Althought, this is just speculation, but why else would Jaled Dar want the 5 First brood slain?

will he zone out and destroy norath? maybe you will not know till verant codes it so just live with that.
you guys remind me of a gm event in SK a long time ago. 4 named aviaks spawned (spelled gms) tons of people jumped on them, 20 minutes later the aviak city was littered with corpses. then some brave man walked up and started to talk to them. they said how can we trust you and he handed them a his weapon. He got a reward.
Not everything is killable. think about it.

im on veeshan faction and went along for the ride, the sleeper and the guardians are all amiable to me, though they dont talk when i hail them.
In order to do any quests for the Claws of Veeshan, you need to work your faction up to (now after the last patch) "Ally" with this group. Once you do so, the dragons will talk to you and you can get quests from them.
