Kerafyrm's Lair, formerly known as Sleeper's Tomb, is a dark dungeon located beneath the icy wastes of Velious, and was used by the First Brood to imprison the dragon Kerafym.

Anyone at least 55th level can now enter this zone. The actual key (no longer required) is gained through this quest.

Eras ago, there was no such thing as the Claws of Veeshan or Ring of Scale -- dragons from all over Norrath were a part of the same faction. At some point, two dragons of different color decided to mate. Resulting from this union were Kerafyrm, a baby crystal dragon and an ensuing war amongst the dragons. In a successful effort to end the war, the First Brood imprisoned Kerafyrm in a tomb deep beneath the wastes of Velious. Leaving four warders in place to guard the now-dormant crystal dragon.

Jaled'Dar, a rebel dragon amongst the Claws of Veeshan, wanted to bring the Golden Age back to Norrath and decided that The Sleeper had to be awakened. He, however, was slain in a great battle with the iksars and now rests in his spirit form in Dragon Necropolis. Due to his death, he needed to enlist the aid of Norrathian adventurers to further his cause.

In due time, Kerafyrm was indeed awakened, and went on a rampage from his tomb, through the icy wastes, and into Skyshrine. (Quite a lot of time passed before he resurfaced in Crystallos.)

With the warders slain and Kerafyrm free, this historic tomb is now home to a group of ancient dragons: Zeixshi`Kar, Vyskudra, Tjudawos, and Kildrukaun.

Level 55 is required to enter the zone.

Clear out the newly created sentries and I think that makes him spawn.

The more recent posts on this zone are a bit misleading...

You never killed the 4 warders to "pop the sleeper" like a typical named/grind camp.

The Sleeper was there... asleep. Once the server killed the sleeper the Sleeper is never there again. The zone is changed, the loot table changed. It was done first on Zek and is worth reading about if you enjoy the history of this fine game.

Part of the lure of progression servers for some people has been doing this even more in era.

The newer servers (at this time Vox, Trakanon) have both had a few people level fast to do this event for example.

I have been playing since the games creation. The Sleeper was all about lore. A powerful dragon that had to be controlled. It was never intended to be a target to kill; but once the game evolved people took on the sleeper.

The original warders were there to keep the Sleeper asleep. Once all 4 died the Sleeper would wake up and if not killed right then and there he would rampage through the zone and zone out to skyshrine to continue his rampage. He would pick a fight with other dragons and kill them before emoting more and leaving for good. No matter what, once he is woken up, he was gone from the server forever.

As mentioned, the mobs and the loot changed as soon as he was released. This is why certain items are so pricey now from old Sleeper's Tomb.

There are places such as emulated servers and maybe even youtube videos from emulated servers that show the entire script when the sleeper wakes and moves from zone to zone.

So I know Kerafyrm is now in Crystallos, but has anyone killed the four dragons recently and seen if he will repop in this area? I may have to try it tonight

I have never understood why anyone would want to wake the sleeper. I mean sure now a days an Sod, a relic of the past might be a cool bragging rights item but it has no use. but when the sleeper was awakened (on most servers) it was still an item of great desire. people that did wake the sleeper knew they were barring anyone else from looting those items forever more. why would anyone do that? was there a reward for waking her?

To those for whom plat drops are consequential, or to trivia buffs, it's interesting that IF a mob drops plat in this zone, which is most of them, they ALWAYS drop somewhere between 6-7PP and possibly a little GP. Without fail. In fact, at the beginning it looked like there was a preordained pattern, with the first mob I killed dropping 7pp EVEN, the second dropping 7PP 1GP, the third, 7PP 2 GP... continuing for awhile until finally the pattern broke with a 6PP drop. Some mobs, and I didn't note which, drop NO plat. But IF they drop PP, it's like whoever designed the plat loot table fixed it very finely between 6PP+some gold to 7PP+some gold. Maybe back in the days of Velious, this made the zone super-rich for the cutting edge raiding guilds who could cope with packs of mobs all having (for the times) insanely big HP pools.

Anyone know the spawn time on the ancients here? and does there spawn timer run on the server status (like do they repop or depop on server reset, and the likes).

I have wanted to hunt in this dungeon for so long, but now that I can, everyone has moved on to the latest fad. Being level 69, I suppose most of these opponents would be challenging enough to be worthwhile. Any suggestions on reasons I could offer my friends who say, "What's the point?" when I suggest grouping here?

Sometimes the newest fad, like Hot Zones, are packed with people and hard to hunt in because of the crush of people. We've found that the older zones offer freedom to hunt because we aren't fighting for room and mobs. Perhaps suggest that they hunt here to enjoy having an entire zone to yourselves.

I'm leveling a mage up on the Nameless, in all actuallity....because I can't find pet weapons for my necro anymore. There's 3... mages that sell them in /bazaar. Three. And most of the time, they're not even on.

In the last few days, I have entered these hotzones with my newie mage...currently level 20, and my newbie Beastlord, currently level 57. The most people I've seen in a hotzone up to POI is...6. I did see 16 in POI, but 10 were doing something else.

In Vald, I see a group there every weekend, but during the day, you're pretty much alone.

There is no "under 85" game, I don't think. Not anymore. Maybe that's just the way it is. I'll tell you more as I level my mage, heh.

Sleepers Zone Revamp?

Does anyone know if there has been a revamp of this zone? I've been hearing rumors, but nothing confirmed yet. I went there myself yesterday, and the zone looks the same as always, other than the new models of the gargoyles, but my main reason for wondering is that i've heard the mask of tinkering is dropping again. It's one of the few illusion masks i don't have and if it's back im gonna be there a lot i think. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm guessing he's wondering why MOBs aren't attacking the camera man and why the settings seem so peaceful in such a dangerous environment.

And, to answer the questions, no, I'm pretty sure these are player-taken.

Players can invis up, pacify, sneak (as you meantion with a Rogue), or have non-KOS faction (which I'm not sure is possible in this particular zone, but maybe? Claws of Veeshan cut it?).

Additionally, there's an EQ zone viewer.. "Map EQ", or something like that? Anyhow, it lets a user browse a zone's landscape from the file saved on the computer. Not with an actual character, and, from what I hear, no MOBs in zone (or maybe there's an option to see or not to see them?). Since many of these pictures have MOBs in them, I'd guess they're legitimate screen shots made by a careful player.

They were utilizing an exploit. Later the guild leaders were banned, they found a location that you could stand, that would not allow the sleeper you hit you. Sleeper was killed. Im guessing they didnt know exploits were used because it wasn't a HACK it was a BUG. My friend was good friend with one of the leaders that were banned.

This part i dont know for sure if it was true, but Yantis was a monk that was one of the officers that were banned. He is actually the creator of www.cannotlinkto. Again this part may be incorrect, but i do know of at least 1 guild that was disbanded due to killing the sleeper, and exploiting a bug.

well we all got an in-game msg about the guilds that downed the sleeper on rallos zek when it happened. u know one of those yellow msgs. my guild at the time was Quo Vadis(Empire) and the officers were talking about how the GM's claimed the guilds were using an exploit to kill the sleeper, supposedly it was a invisible monster/npc/whatever that the sleeper was hitting so at around a low percent they respawned him and the event. then the guilds killed him legit and he dropped NOTHING, i seen the screenshots with my own eyes

this is from what knowledge i have about the subject at the time it happened

Ya, that about sums it up.
He wasn't meant to have a loot table of any kind, so it was just 30 seconds on the corpse. Not even enough time to get everyone together for a screenshot in front of the corpse.

No hacks.
Just hours long of keeping the res rate faster than the kill rate.

Two words for you big guy Howling Orb.

Oh ya and now that shaman have weapons better then one ratio with all the banes and magic damages you have nothing to complain about. Maybe if you weren't lvl 54 you'd realize that the classes do even out again eventually, you just have to take the time to level to 60 instead of waisting your time in crappy dungeons getting half good loots.

Ok, Ill give ya the Howling Orb--still crappy that any classes level 60 spell is on a weapon, but in that case it's more than welcome--how many enchanters have died due to Tashicide? And your two cents dont mean squat when you dont have the balls the post your level or what server you are on. I suppose you solo Sleeper's Tomb and Temple of Ssheraza and never step foot in "crappy" dungeons like the planes or any dungeon that doesnt require 30+ level 60 people to even have a shot at seeing the boss mob. Yeah there may be one or 2 weapons that are shaman usuable that have damage>delay when adding bane damage ( Sunbeam Staff ), but what 55+ shaman cares? Solo, were going to use epic/JBB/spells to take down a mob and in a group were not meleeing. Dont even friggin talk about class balance either. Melees get their disciplines just for being that level---go to the Bazaar on your server and price Bane of Nife, Pox of Bertoxxulous, Malo, Avatar, and Torpor--if you can get the last 3 for less than 150k then consider yourself lucky--all 5 of these spells are rare as hell ( not even mentioning the Luclin spells ) and a 60 shaman without them isnt much better than a 55 shaman. There isnt a single level 60 player out there who wasnt level 55 at some point who didnt spend atleast some time in "crappy dungeons getting half good loots" either.

Look at it this way. Avatar has a relatively short duration and buffing all your melee at a 40 person raid would take most/all your mana. Avatar also increases your DPS by like 20%, thus allowing you to kill things with less people, faster. In the end it does benefit you since it is only with guild help things get done in the high end, and shamans have way too many things to worry about then trying to Avatar a couple of people. In time you will wish that melees could buff themselves:)

I like this game alot, and while I will never see this zone as 99% of other players wont either , this is my rant
Avatar as a proc: I think its total BS to put a level 60 spell as a proc on a weapon. I wouldnt care if Primal weapons were artifacts and there was only one per server, but some servers have many of these weapons. Lets see how much ******** would take place if a shaman usuable weapon procced Dictate or Sunfire ( whatever the wizard disintegration spell is ). Shaman are worthless on a raid that has people with Primals, as mages can Mala, enchanters can slow within 5% of us ( if the mob can even be slowed ) and druids can group regen. No need to buff someone when they are already at 255 or close to it in every melee stat. Now that there is feral avatar, maybe regular avatar should be move down a level or 2 ( and WTF is up with giving us essentially 3 identical spells in one level??). Or maybe give us a level 60 pet instead of another avatar. Wouldnt suprise me with Verants logic if we get a 4th version of Avatar with Plane of Power expansion. To my knowledge no other class has one of their level 60 spells as an effect on any item and probably few spells level 50+ are effects on items. I know this post wont change squat but I had to say it.

For those with every expansion available you get all spells. For those with only some expansions, this allows them to stay semi on par with their spells.

Go to then go to maps, scroll down on the dungeons thing to sleepers tomb.
