Killed him with a boxed group of 65s on Agnarr, SK, DRU, ENC, WIZ, MAG, CLE. Challenging fight, this guy dispells but fortunately his range is only 25-feet so you can keep all but your main tank out of range. He also appears to summon brann adds, either out of the air or he calls them from elsewhere in the area. We had adds popping up right in our group. I had noticed this happening on the previous try, which we lost, so I had one character aimed toward the circle around the arena, basically covering the group backs. Never saw these mobs approaching so they seem to just "appear."These adds are also MUCH harder to mez than any others in the zone.

Forget about charmed pets, which would be nice. They get dispelled straight away and charm breaks.

Fight DPS:

Wiz 189k
Mag 67K
SK 65K
Dru 64K
Enc 21K

Total damage 406k. The mobs in this wing are entirely fire-resistant so only cold and magic lands, thus inhibiting magician's dps.

Brynju Thunderclap was the last tower boss I had yet to try. Since this was my first time, I cleared the whole room and fought him on his platform to avoid any chance of getting adds.

My team:
65 Monk 746 AA + DPS Merc
65 Shaman 837 AA + Healer Merc
65 Ranger 85 AA + Tank Merc

The main issue I've had with the tower bosses is the Healer Merc running out of mana. I finally found a way to control that and now the Healer Merc will have 20-80% mana left at the end of a tower boss fight. What I do is pretty simple but it works great.

When I start the fight, I make sure boss is slowed then I put my Healer Merc on Passive. I watch the tank's health and when it reaches around 40%, I put my healer merc back on Efficient and it will immediately cast a Complete Heal. I put the merc back on Passive and repeat this process.

Here's the slightly tricky part, if the boss gets a few good shots on your tank, his HP might get too low by the time the CH is done and the Healer merc will start casting Holy Elixir and Supernal Remedy several times instead. This will drive your healer Merc OOM especially as she will also cast group heals and similar spells to keep the rest of the group up. So what I do is I throw a heal or 2 on the tank with the shaman to keep him above 30% HP or so until the CH lands and then put the healer back on passive. To deal with group damage from AE, rampages etc. I just throw the Shaman's Call of the Ancient ward on the floor which lasts a quite a while and I'll cast a couple of heals here and there to keep everyone up. The highest I could get Call of the Ancient AA at level 65 was rank 5/8 and I think it heals for around 300 HP per tick with some stats increases which is just enough to keep my party up.

These fights have taken about 5-10 minutes for my group. This time, Brynju Thunderclap dropped a spectral parchment, the usual 10-slot ring container and 2 Ornate Chain Tunic patterns.

Just to add some information regarding Eq as it is in 2017:

Nowadays its "soloable" with a Merc by 69 SK using Elaborate Gear

Fight was pretty close since healer merc wasted mana on pet, but its doable as a Sk chain casting life drain spells.
At some point Mr. Thunderclap also ran out of mana and the fight become tank and spank.
Could not find a good place to avoid pet being hit by AOE, might have been easier if i would have not had up my little undead friend to this fight.
My experience

Brought my group up to the thunder tower side on accident and decided that while we were there we should kill the named. We had A 79 shaman (me) with 19.2k hp and 15k mana and 2.0, A 79 cleric with 14k hp 13k mana and 1.5, my boxxed 61 Paladin, 9.5k hp 6k mana, and the clerics 62 Necro uknown hp/mana. Pretty much just plowed to him. I decided to pull him when we got to pit. I aggroed 6 or 7 Kriger adds and 1 elemental along with him. After about 5 mins taking down the adds we worked on him. 5 mins later he was deaded and no deaths in group (barely). Dropped container, glyphed rune, wicked shank, and Glowing orb of the stormwatcher. was a fun fight.

I was running around with a friend and his dad today. They decided to take out Mr. Thunderclap.

Necro FD pulled and got Mr. Thunderclap to the pit. Then promptly got ate and died on the pull. That left Mr. Ubercleric (15.5k hps and 13.5k mana max aas) and myself (gimp 62 cleric 2 aa's and 5k hps and 5k mana).

I thought I would add hammerpet to the mix. 5 seconds into the fight I was dead also. Who knew he had a ds and would kill me instantly.

So Mr. Ubercleric and Mr. Thundedrclap fought it out. Cleric never once healed himself as VoV did all the work. 10 minutes later I and the necro were rezzed. Got a new hat and secondary for myself.

I am sooo gonna come here once I get up levels and aa's a bit for some payback.

But yes, a cleric can solo him now.

Think a 72 Necro w/ lvl 72 Pet + pet focus, 66 shaman (slow + buffs only) and Journeyman Tier 1 cleric can solo? I have killed all named in zone (minus the tower bosses) with no problems - usually end up with 70% mana after they + adds are dead). My pet seem's to be able to solo the Kriger's w/o slow pretty well, needing only a few heals from merc. I'm positive i can single pull him, so...

there is a frost giant in Kael with the surname thunderclap.

looking back on this post I have yet to discover why I would go through the trouble to even post that.

2 nights ago I watched a 75 ranger solo this guy and another tower boss. So the next night, me and g/f thought we'd go try it. I brought my 67 chanter and my 75 monk. She brought her 75 cleric and 67 rogue. We pretty much got dead :( I knew I was gimp, but damn...

I got really bored one night so decided to see If I could solo him. Pacied past all the mobs and attacked him on his Platform. As a cleric I dont put out a whole lot of DPS even with DS and Vow Of Valor , but better then average I would say. I fought him for about 15 or 20 mins while keeping any roamers pacied so thay didnt join the fight. He was only down to 85 % . I still had almost 90 mana so I could have taken him down if I wanted to fight him for about an hour + , but was only there to see what he was like one on one so just gated out. I have a few pieces of Time gear , but rest is TSS or lower , think my 1250 AA's was more help then anything. Just thought I would share in case any of you ubber thrill junkies were interested in tough fight .

I remember that there was a way to pull the mobs around the ledge in the areana area of this tower's top level.. as well as the named Brynju Thunderclap without having to pull them all the way around the corridor.

Isn't there a way to have them jump off the ledge, into the areana pit, when you pull ?

When I have tried this.. i just see them running around the ledge... into the corridor hallway.. and end up waiting a minute before they come around the long way to me.

Anyone got the secret ???.. lol

Would appreciate it.

reply long overdue obviously, but for those looking for the info. You can pull him down into the pit by aggroing him and standing directly under his platform till he warps down on you

My roommate, and my two little brothers and I have gotten bored with our mains lately and have started playing our alts which are all 62 or 63. I have my main tower keyed and my alt keyed, and the plan is to key up all our guys and switch chars, kill all the tower bosses with our mains and take all the loot with the alts. Sounds like a good plan. Mains are = Myself (70 Pally, 14.2khp/2.5kac, 400AA), my roomate (70 Bard, 12.5khp/1.8kac, 900AA), my brother (70 Ranger, 12khp/1.7kac, 250aa), and my other little brother (70 Shaman with a 9.5k mana pool, 250AA). We all have our 1.5s and pretty good gear, so I'll post here in a couple days and tell ya'll how it goes.

#REDACTED, Posted: May 01 2005 at 5:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I laugh at the fact they called this a raid encounter. We did it with one group average lvl 65-66. He only dropped a glyph rune for use though.

Our guilds (HaN/CK on Karana) have been raiding the Bastion of Thunder fairly regularily. We aren't equipped with Elemental Gear (with one or two pieces on one or two characters excepted), and not all of us are 65 either, so hopefully the following information can be put to use by folks who aren't Elemental flagged but want to take on some bigger targets.

We took this guy down fairly easily with 22 people in our Raid, lowest level being 62. We had a Raid average of 64.

Ranger Harmony pulled all the way. We cleared Brynju's surroundings, and used the following tactics on the big guy.

Main Tank grabbed aggro, ping ponged with second Rampage Tank for fairly standard start. Everyone dropped into the very center of the room, and we dragged Brynju into the center. From that point it was a fairly straight forward fight. Keeping him in the center is critical, since you can completely avoid any adds whatsoever. While 2 or 3 groups could handle Brynju more than likely (1 or 2 Time/Elemental Groups I would expect), adds are the wildcard. Avoid the adds, and he's the easiest tower boss.

Magic based DOTs DO stick, but expect the caster to be summoned and smacked down with impunity, that's what happened to ours :).

Hi, yes.... Triton has been in Time for months now... Kludain is an elder Triton member. So if you guys did him with 2 groups instead of 1, you need to spend more time in CB... imho

Not a Chance you did him with 1 group. We did him tonight with 2 group time Gear. Dropped the Tunic and shank.

# Sep 12 2005 at 1:00 PM Rating: Decent
Did him 1 group, pre lvl 70cap.

2CLR (65<time> and 62)
1PAL (65<time>)
1ENC (65)
1SHM (65<time>)
1BST (65<time>)

We pacified our way to the fight room, cleared wall possible adds, then pulled him down and tanked him in the center. I'm sure it has to be easier now that there is level 70 and overall more DPS.
1 group pwn.

Pretty Easy
# Sep 03 2003 at 5:38 PM Rating: Excellent
My guild killed him Sunday night. We had 4 groups His AoE is directional so that made it easy, we pushed him into a corner near his spawn spot with tank being the only one taking the AoE. As far as pulling goes, we had an awesome Ranger/SK tag team and they were able to single pull him through all the adds that were surrounding the arena. Once he was pulled tank pulled him to the corner and we engaged. He turned for a brief second to kill someone then went back to tank and we finished him off. He dropped Wicked Shank, Ornate Chain Tunic, and a Spec. Parchment. Pretty easy fight if done correctly. Clerics were using a 4 second CH chain, and that worked out well.
