The zone went live on the Legends server at 2003-06-12 during Legacy of Ykesha.
It got released with Lost Dungeons of Norrath at 2003-09-09 on all servers.

Shortly after the Shissar were run out of Kunark, a resort by the name of Veksar was built by the Kylong Iksar Tribe. After standing upon a lake in the middle of Kunark for nearly 1,000 years, Veksar was destroyed by the dragon Garudon, and sunk to the bottom of what is now known as the Lake of Ill Omen.

Now beneath the surface of the lake, Veksar is inhabited by sealife and the spirits of those killed in the incident. It is said that the spirit of the dragon Garudon also resides somewhere in the ruins. Only few adventurers who have chosen to trespass in to Veksar's confines have been able to return to tell about it.

Spawned in NW section where grandmasters and initiates are. PH was a revenant. Dropped Moss Covered Cloak, back slot, 8AC 6wis 6int 55hp 55mana 8sv all, melee, priests and hybrids, all races.

Yesterday, we were in Veksar (SolRo). 8 ppl, lvl average 54.
We moved near the golem yard. I dont know exactly the location, but spellbinder and commander spawning there.
Sudden we got 2 messages like "..iksar golem...attacks you."
First 2 mins, nothing happened, noone came and we moved on.
That was a mistake... about 8 mobs came through a door (i.e. 2 grandmaster, 2 iksar golem and some more) and... LOADING. PLEASE WAIT.
Had no time, to cast evac fast enough... your are to distracted to cast a spell.

So, pay attention, when you are moving. They will aggro through walls, and will get some friends for help.

drops from 'a diseased slave' undead frog in left sewer pipe. to get to sewers you:
go up shop near golems
out window
around the 3 highborns on left into alley
right at fork in road 90 degree turn
left door past 2 hands into hall
might have to kill revenant/an undead slavemaster then keep going straight past stairs while still in the building.
then you will come to 2 openings right next to eachother with water passages... left pipe leads to a diseased slave that drops boots of the kunzar wanderer and right pipe leads to an undead thief who drops some 7allsaves ring.
ph for diseased slave is 'a revenant' and ph for undead thief is 'a wraith' always. rest of the mobs are frogs... they gang up, bring a feign splitter. hit 320s to 370s.

Ok,

Veksar is now live on the live servers and I decided to explore a bit. I soloed the undead tower entrance with no problems at all (Necro 65 here) but I noticed all mobs (including light blues) summon! In case of adds that could be very nasty (no root crowd control) so after killing Champion Kamak with 2 adds who almost killed my butt I decided to be on the lookout for a group to go deeper inside. Champion Kamak dropped the Earring Of Darkfaith btw.

I got a pick-up group with a 65 enc, a 62 pally, a 56 wiz, a 65 ranger and a 58 monk. Not exactly the holy trinity group as you can notice but we did very very well because of my undead slow (shackle of spirit) and the high skill of the players in group, and so despite of a healing class not being in the group we arrived at a big square surrounded by 4 buildings (where the iksar golems spawn)

If you look closely at the north building (next to spirit of Grodan) you will see a steep ramp going up on top of the building. We went up and from that point we encountered more tough mobs (Curates, Initiates, Grandmasters), still we continued but on a much slower pace, climbing up many stairs in that building and eventualy we exit it trough another ramp leading directly into another building. (filled with spellbinders, nihilists, diviners, ect)

Once that building cleaned we found ourselves in a narrow street leading to another square with 4 buildings. From there on the real tough mobs are (Nobles, Insane Nobles, Wraiths, Swiftails, HIghborns, ...)

There we almost wiped because of a bad pull (a swiftail + 2 revenants) but fortunately the pally survived and rezzed the dead. One of the Highborn nobles dropped Kylong Darkmail Gauntlets, very very nice gloves for melee.

From that point on we moved into the north building (we got jumped by another 4 mobs but chanter saved our butts), and there we took the stairs to the right (to the left there was some sort of arena, killing one mob made two others spawn, so might be some ring event, so we quickly left that place)

Once on top of stairs we were in a hallway (where we killed a highborn commander, lvl 60ish mob who dropped nada) surrounded by four rooms.
Peeking inside the room directly to the right we noticed to our surprise that a level 65 mob (conned white to me) was up, scowling ready to attack : Remains of Synthrax

I have no idea if he has a ph or something because he was up when we got there. Now at that point it was already 2 o'clock in the morning so we didn't feel like wiping there. But leaving without at least trying to kill that mob, we couldn't do either.

So we made up an attack plan (remember we have no real healing class in group) which was this :

The pally bound just outside the room, so in case we wiped he could rez us. I would send in my pet first to see for how much he hits and try to slow him asap with my undead slow. The wizard would cast evac but interrupt it as soon as I push my hotkey "%t SLOWED!"

And so it went : I send in Jibantik, who got promptly hit for 800+ damage but my slow sticked!

We all rushed inside and pally took aggro, I landed 3 dots on him (casting FD in between casts to not take aggro, refreshing them when necessary), chanter and wizzy nuked, melee fought and we took him down to 35% before things got nasty (I think he has 80khp or something).

At that point my slow wore off and I couldn't get it to stick again imediately so pally and monk died. Once he was slowed again he turned upon the wizard and chanter which he killed also.

Meanwhile I used my AA Wake the Dead on Pally's corpse to raise him as a second pet. At that point Remains of Synthrax was at 15%. Only peeps still standing, me 65 Nec, Trastamarak Rng 65 and my two pets. this is log from end of the fight :

As you notice, the plan of binding the pally in next room was a very good one, he rezzed our group one by one, me pumping my remaining mana to him to speed things up (before repop)and we were ready to evac asap.

Oh yeah, what did he drop? I see a lot of people wondering :) He dropped a Kunzar Tu'Lal, a 1HS for all melee classes (save monk), 19-22 STR+5 DEX+5 AGI+5 mana+55 hp+55 recommended level of 45 (probably some other stats or effect too but I didn't take a good look at link since it is a melee weapon and had still adrenaline pumping through me from that close fight lol)

So my conclusion of Veksar zone is :

1) fun zone, with lots of adrenaline, you don't have to be in the "perfect" group to have a great time there.

2) "Yard Trash" mobs drop a decent ammount of pp and research words, runes or pages

3) Bring your local necro to slow the mobs :) you'll not regret it!

Just because pallies can heal doesn't make them healers. Heck, bards can heal but we don't call ourselves healers. They are a great class, but not the best healers. Just my 2cp

Hey, Venomia, how is it going? :)

Just wanted to make a couple of corrections:
-Group was Venomia (65 necro), Rcarr (65 enchanter), Portis (63 pally), Trastamarak (58 ranger), Debis (56 monk) and Tomanuque (56 wizard).
-Sword was dmg 14, dly 22, str+8, dex+8, sta+8, hp+55, mana+55. Either hand and such, not no drop, and rec lvl 45. Will try to send a screenshot of it...

Our adventure in Veksar was really funny. Hope to go there again :)

One more thing. We saw a strange room, that Venomia referred as an arena. We killed an insane noble there, and 1 minute later (maybe less) 2 insane nobles spawned. Next time I looked there were 3 insane nobles. Don't know if it will lead to some tough mob spawning, as we were a nice group, but not the perfect one to start a ring event ;)

Today people on my server (Saryrn) spanwed the Dragon talked about in the lore. You have to get something like 4 reminants of the Kylong and hand them into Spirit os Garudon. This spanws the dragon in the Theatre right by where the spirit is. Apparently hits pretty hard and has a nasty AE. On top of that hes all Bones!

Lucy lists this haste as 30% same as RBB...IMHO this is a better item and a helluva lot easier to get, be interesting to see what it sells for

if you do an item look up of this item you will see it drops off of a rotting shopkeeper. not sure where spawn is maybe in building off of golems where all the shopkeepers are. Thats my best guess

Veksar was opened today, so I decided to go down and check it out for myself (like everyone else /sigh)
After 30 min or so, i had a little grp that could take out the undeads to explore with.On the way down to the golem area we killed Lord Sasil. He's s single spawn right before the ramp to the iksar golems. He dropped this:

We were a bit shocked to see decent Kunark loot after all this time. We also found 'a massive golem' in the iksar golem area. Didn't drop anything so we figured it was a PH for something else. There was also a 'Spirit of something' that gave out a quest about 4 Kylong seals to free him. After clearing the golem camp a few times (decent xp for mobs that hit 240ish max) we broke up and let the other 40 peeps wanting to clear through do whatever.

You need the Legends Premium. As of right now, it is only live on the Stormhammer server. But, if things go like the new Plane of Hate, it might end up on the regular live servers later.

Basic Veksar Infomation

'Sup everyone. I just spent all day and survived about sixteen near deaths, solo- and group-oriented, so I know my way around this God forsaken zone. Let me tell you, Veksar alone makes Legends worth $39.99 a month. All kidding aside, $40 is alot to cough up, but Veksar is one of the reasons that I pay it... plus my guild is too damn good =P. Anyhow... Here's some basic info.
Veksar doesn't require a key; as in DOES NOT. NO KEY. If you ignore this, make sure you go up to the Tangrin and ask him how he's doing today, you'll get a special-key just for you. Also, give him any uber loots you have, such as Ornate armor, and he'll give you a key for that too.
Next on the list, the zone is NOT underwater. The Zone-In is, correct, but the zone itself requires no EB item. There are waterways and tunnels underwater, yes, but there is NO EB REQUIRED for the impact the zone has on the game.
At the zone in, swim UP, and you'll see a pillar tipped over into the pond. Climb up it, and you'll be in the zone, officially (besides actually zoning in). Now run down the building, and you will see everyone favorite ********** Bloodgill Goblins! UBAH! Umm no. They are Blue at 54/55, light blue depending on the mob itself. You have two classes of these: Warriors and Shamans. Typical for retarded-Goblins. Both are self-explanitory as to mob-function. These DO NOT Summon, though they have a good amount of hit-points... but nothing a simple dooming+in.fear cannot stop =P. These total in about eight or nine spawns at zone entrance-way.
To the LEFT of the main zone-entrance, is a big, long, yet very thin BROWN RAMP. Climb it if you want to go IN VEKSAR CITY. Apon reaching the very top, you will arrive at an entryway. Walk in, and to the right are three-stalls, which were probably rooms or closets if you want to get technical with the Lore. One of the NEW RACE spawns here. Now, here is some basic information on the new-race-thing-bastards-that summon...
You have Sentrys, Crusaders, Phantoms, Troopers, and a few others that are rarities among those mentioned. THEY ARE UNDEAD, the Level ranges are 53+, and guess what? THEY ALL SUMMON- and I mean summon! Sentry's are typical warriors. Crusader's are SK's, and yes, they DO HT. As in Harm Touch, a good 600hp down the sewer of Veksar. Phantom's are HP-whores, and they like to cast spells too, just upgraded-SK's it seems. Trooper's are the REAL SK's. They have the 700+ HT and massive hit points. After running rampade through the first level(s) of tunnels, you'll run into more stronger versions of this new race. Vessles, which are random-classes (some HT, some don't), Commoners, who are stronger warriors, Animalists, who are Beast Lords, without the pet (shrug), and Rotting Peasants, which seem to be a mix of everything mentioned above, except BST's. Now from here, you may see some Iksar Golems. Summoning, bigger and better versions of Golems in CoM, just VERY orange, and VERY tough. If you want a DC-pet in this zone, GET ONE OF THESE! Ubaaah! They are 55, maybe 56, and hit HARD, with lots'uh HP. Now, going in even deeper, you will see two buildings being extremely-well guarded by these golems. The first and closest building is called the Ballroom. This resembles a run-down, abandonded ballroom (or a haunted one, whatever) and is guarded by more of the new race of creates. This time, we have Diviners, Nihilists and Primalists. Guess what they guard? Hierophant Vradik, level 55, Iksar-ghost-type mob, and he casts and summons. Modest hitpoints compared to the golems. Drops a "Dented Kunzar War Helm" 23ac 8sta 35hp 35mana 8svd 5svc WAR SHD BRD RNG PAL I THINK, 90% sure.
Going back to Golem entrance, we take a right from Stairway, and this will lead you to more golems, then another very long ramp to climb. This takes you to, "the Theater," where it is indeed an old theater of sorts (think Shakespeare as a Lizard). These have another new class for the new race: Spellbinders. Level 58, these are the meanest motherf***ers in Veksar yet. They are worse than the golems and worse than the few named-mobs I've been up against. No lies, really. They are NECRO'S! They like to summon, as usual, and FEAR too! Poison, DoT, mana-drain, double for about 450 or so, and love to dispell everyone's KEI and POT9! Aka a major pain-in-the-***. They CANNOT be mezzed, or movement-slowed, but are attack-slowable. In the theater, you will see these bastards, Curates (less spells, more melee versions of the Spellbinders), and an occasional Diviniter. These are ALL PH's for some kind of Kylong Ghost, name has left me, and I cannot find it on log (SORRY!!). He drops a great array of loot. Too many to really list, heh. Problem is getting him to spawn. He is about 60, and is a major pain in the ***, just like the spellbinders.
A word on the loot (as of 5/14, 5/15): The new race commonly-to-uncommonly drops "Steel" weapons. Basically, they are better versions of Iksar-newbie weapons (Shan`Tok, Sheer Blade, Fer`Esh, etc.) and some more common weapons like Long Swords and Hammers. Only difference the color of the weapons and they are Magic. AKA PET WEAPONS... so they think... I will end it here, but after you read this, head on over to Lake of Ill Omen post and read up on these Steel Weapons. DO NOT LET THEM ROT OR GIVE TO PETS! Trust me on this one... okay, go ahead and give Kann and Labtrik one or two. =P

The massive golem is PH for An iksar Behemoth. Seems to have a few more HP (at least the fight took a little longer) other than that it was about the same as the other golems. Dropped a set of CLR DRU SHM gloves with aroun 8ish AC and 5-6wis. I don't remember the name offhand.
We also killed Feral Lord Guluk(sp?) he was in the first room we came across with the rotting peasants, dropped a nice pair of Kylong leggings. 35ish AC nice stats for a pretty easy mob. (Note: easy is relative since we had a 65 warrior, 65 cleric, 61ish necro, 65 ranger, and 63 druid :) I think they were Melee class + brd clr. They have a sweet white fishscalemail looking graphic.
Farther in, east of the golem courtyard we found a Trooper Muruk. We got a bad pull cause he aggroed an initiate through the wall behind him when he came. We managed to kill them both and the trooper dropped a Darkplate Chestguard(I think that was the name) 45Ac, nice stats.
Shortly after that some pathetisad dude ran through and trained us so we had to evac and the group broke up :( I made about a yellow AA/hour there with group of 5&6 so it's good for exp zone
