OriginalI highly recommend Blightfire Moors for farming wolf pelts if you need them. I was collecting as many as I could to make colored backpacks and first went to all the zones mentioned on EQtraders and wasnt getting anywhere.
Decided to see if there were other spots recommended here and tried Blightfire (I had never hunted here before). At the top right hand side of the map were the ghost wolves. TONS of wolves all in the same area so tracking wasnt needed, respawns were fast enough that I didnt run out of wolves, and drops were satisfactory.
In a little over an hour I got 9 HQ & 8 MQ (didnt keep track of the others), more defiant drops than I could carry (Rough and Ornate), a few low level items off of the named wolves, and some low end cash drops.

Picked mine up at Nedaria's Landing off of
A Silverfur Wolf. It killed me as a level 17 Paladin when we were having an even battle (i still had lay lands to spare) and i got an add. Went back on my CR (I was buffed with dead man floating) and pulled a single yellow back to near the camp to avoid adds. Took me down to 25% and used LoH. It ran at 20% so easy kill from there.

I was killing a bunch of poachers recently to help a rogue friend get his half elf mask, and came away with a bunch of different skins (these included). Finally got round to putting them on my bazaay mule today and both my HQ wolf hides sold within a few hours. With items I don't know the correct PC for i tend to start with a very high price, which i lower over the course of time. These both sold at 499pp per though...a price way too high for any of the uses listed here.

Sold two more today along with two HQ lion pelts. Two HQ lion pelts are needed for the rogue epic 1.5 so i supect that the wolf skins are part of this too.

I was farming skins in East Commonlands last night and the very first Black Wolf I killed dropped a high quality wolf skin! Only one I saw all night.
I had a High Quality Wolf Skin drop from a Silvermist Wolf in East Karana. First time I had ever seen one. It came up a blank on the Allakhazam item search. Is this the same as High Quality Wolf Pelt? I will haul this to bazaar with other pelts and see if any are selling there.

Wat can these "HQ" pelts be used for execpt money, i've got for of them and are looking for alternative uses...
HQ Wolf pelts can also be used in tailoring to make small reinforced leather armor. It also requires a pattern and various amounts of steel boning which is made through the smithing skill.
Reinforced leather armor becomes trivial at around 108. It should be noted that HQ cat skins can be used to make medium sizes and HQ bear skins to make large. But as these can be used to make Tailored quivers and backpacks respectively, it is not worth using them for the reinforced leathers.

I have looted ruined and low quality from shadow wolves since around November, twice as many as the shadow pelts, in the EC zone.
Since when did shadow wolves start dropping quality pelts? I camped these suckers with several characters and never seen anything except the shadow wolf pelt drop from them.
